    Hi Vito, i have a problem with my w124...the wiper moves slowly when i turn on...while when i put the second and third speed It moves very slowly and sometimes It stops for a few seconds.
    What Is the problem? Is the wiper motor?
    Thanks for your help!

      I would Lube the assembly first. Sometimes they become metal on metal and become difficult to move.

      You have to take it apart and lubricate it. That’s most likely your issue.

    I glad that you are sharing your w124 knowledge with us viewers. Hopefully others will understand how well engineered the W124 chassis is and how satisfying it is to work on.

    I had to take that wiper mechanism out of my 2001 e320 a few years ago because the Vegas sun dried out and destroyed that rubber seal on the bottom of it. You are supposed to be able to take it completely apart, but I could get the center shaft to let loose of the bottom plate, so I stretched the new
    Seal over the whole unit. The seal is very thick and strong. That keeps water out of that area.
    There is a special grease for those monowipers, but I didn't use it.

    What is fluid film? Is there a particular brand you are using? Thank you.

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  Рік тому +3

      Fluid film is a thick oil that you spray on the car body and metal to protect it from rust and to preserve everything. Great stuff. Look up more videos about it. I use it a lot on so many cars

    Hey Vito, I have a question, in your video you mentioned the windshield, that it is still factory from the first assembly .... I have a question about the sticker on the windshield in the lower right corner, is there a signature there??? I noticed that only mb for the us market have such stickers ... European versions do not have it, Japanese mb have a sticker on the rear window with a signature .... mb from the us and japanese markets are so unique .... maybe tell me who's signature is it? Regards

    Glad to see someone as OCD as I am about cleaning out those HVAC plenums. I do it with every used car I buy and they're always filthy and full of organic matter, despite looking pristine outside.

    I was inspired by all your videos. Love how you try and save these Mercedes. I found a nice 1993 300e 2.8 in Colorado with no rust. It was worth saving so I bought it and shipped it to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It came up with 2 codes. O2 sensor and up shifting issue. I’m learning so much from watching what you do. Keep the videos coming so I can see how it’s done! I’m not mechanically inclined but at least I know what to look for now. Love this artic white Benz.

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for supporting and loving old school cars. They don’t make them like they used to! If you’re getting an o2 sensor code, it usually means that it’s a bad sensor and time for a new Bosch sensor. Or it could be due to fuel/air mixture issues. You can also reset the check engine light and see if those codes still come back.
      As far as the upshifting issue, what exactly is happening?

    • @rubenvasquez2106
      @rubenvasquez2106 Рік тому +1

      It gave me this code 26 as well. I’m going to buy and do the o2 sensor today. Code 26 Upshift Delay Switchover Valve - open or short circuit. It seems to not like going up hills takes awhile to get going. I had a mechanic look at it and he seems to think it needs a new head gasket. The engine does sound good. No leaks and no white smoke. I’ll try and see if the sensors and maybe look at the EHA valve next. Thanks for your help!!!!

      Thank you for your videos. You helped me to learn about the ins and outs of the W124. It really helped me to decide to go all in and buy one, 1986 300E, blue with light tan leather interior. Terrific!! I had a W111 Coupe and a W110 200D along with a 300CD. I lost them all in a fire recently along with some other cars etc. I’m looking forward to the W124.
