  • The MASP Renner project features a pair of artists and fashion designers who have been invited by MASP create collaborative looks for the museum’s collection. The initiative aims to expand the MASP Fashion Collection, which was incorporated in the 1970s and contains the collections developed by Rhodia - a company that manufactured textiles at the time - in the 1960s.
The second season of MASP Renner took place between 2019 and 2020, and it was curated by Lilian Pacce, fashion assistant curator at MASP from 2019-2020, and @adrianopedrosa, artistic director, with the curatorial assistance of @guilhermegiufrida. Eight pairs were invited: Ayrson Heráclito and André Namitala; Detanico Lain and Walter Rodrigues; Erika Verzutti and Isabela Frugiuele; Jaime Lauriano and João Pimenta; Laura Lima and Guto Carvalhoneto; Laura Vinci and Glória Coelho; Sonia Gomes and Gustavo Silvestre; and Vivian Caccuri and Francisco Costa. The collaborations produced 27 looks in total. In this documental video, artists, stylists and curators introduce their ideas and choices and how the social and political context of the pandemic impacted their research.
The first season of MASP Renner (2018-2019) was curated by fashion assistant curator Patricia Carta. The third season, currently being developed, is curated by assistant curator Hanayrá Negreiros.
