Tommy is established to be richer than God this time around and 15 Italians are supposed to be a problem on his home turf? Ok. I guess we name drop the American/Sicilian Mafia and it instantly becomes believable. I'm sorry I just have a hard time buying into S4, at least the acting is still top tier. Great reaction as usual, ladies.
To be honest, I was going to comment in disagreement, but I remember watching this first thinking that Mafia or not, Tommy has dealt with this type of thing before, and the stakes just didn't seem as high. I suppose, essentially being green lit is different from some of the other gangland altercations, but I don't know. There's lots I didn't love about this season, and maybe this is an overarching element to that.
@@brownsey1 Honestly so much of this season is written so poorly especially in comparison to others. And speaking to people who swear this is the best out the 6 has only made me more aware of my issues with it. If the events from S4 occurred around S2 or right after it, there would still be many issues with the overall writing, but the threat itself would feel more real. Why would you establish that Tommy owns "255 streets of back to back houses", multiple factories, restaurants, bars etc etc etc... if you want me to believe that 15 guys are a threat. Even Johnny Dogs offers him 50 men from the Lee family and Tommy turns it down in favor of a new character and his son for no good reason other than plot needs to happen... oh no my bad it was "because they are BAD men". If I turn my brain off I can very much enjoy this season because it is fun, and like I mentioned before, the acting is always top class in this show and some of the scenes are great and well directed. But the writers were more preoccupied with setting up the next 2 seasons with the Jessie Eden mini plot than making sure this season was as good as it could've been.
