- Today I share some things I purchased at The Sewing Basket Sale (as well as the Balmain store). I hope you can share the joy of these treasures with me. I will be using many of these in Roxy Creations Journal of Stitchery challenges.
The Sewing Basket is a chain of shops in Sydney, NSW that supports people with disabilities. All is goods are donated.

The sewing basket is such a cool shop! Love that they give back for individuals with disabilities. If I were to travel to Australia, that would be my first stop. Beautiful items you found there!!

I curate tin boxes full of treasures like the one you've shown. The best part is picking and choosing what to put in them : )) Beautiful color scheme! TFS!

For a long time now, I've been collecting unfinished tapestries. They are a lot of fun...good for covers and 'library bags' which you call pouches.

Beautiful, beautiful treasures ✨ I love the big basket, but I make my own bags to put my projects in ☺️
In Portugal women used to crochet, knit and embroider a lot. Unfortunately that’s a practice that’s being lost. My maternal grandmother knew how to embroider and she mended socks beautifully.
As you like those things so much (as I do), I would suggest you google (if you have the time) “rendas de bilros”. I don’t know if they do that in other countries, but it was a big tradition in Portugal (again, that’s being lost, unfortunately). It’s a kind of fine lace making and it’s so so beautiful.

You are a lucky Gil girl. I don't have any stores like that near me in Arizona but I have a friend in South Dakota who gets me a lot of stuff from antique shops and sends them to me.

Love all your treasures! We do have doilies here in the US, but you have to hunt for them at estate sales, thrift stores and antique shops. I want to hear about your trip to California when you return. Wondering which part of our state you will be visiting.

Hi Kate! I wish I could show you my haul from todays opshopping oh my i got some beautiful things! One is an extremely old delicate hanky with the most beautiful lace around it. Something a princess might use lol i can tell its very very old and fragile. I dont know enough to know where its from but my first thought is France. I say that because i have one from France that my Grandfather brought back with him for my Grandmother. 😍

Ooh I just love that 30’s bag and the pattern. Do you think you could show us the bag in more detail. I’d love to design a pattern for it and make one. I’ve just found your channel and subscribed.
