Haha, I did this with the canvas plain crafters choice zipper bag at spotlight, I could decorate it without worrying about adding a zip , all for about $5 😂

Hello BEAUTIFUL Kate, Ive been making needle books... my kitchen and living room are upside down with cutting and stitching and trying to figure out what i want to use on which book. Its suppose to be relaxing but my shoulders are so tense. I started tis morning and now im in bed watching you stitch and do your art. Hi Kate!!! I am half way through your video and just have the need to tell you how much I enjoy you, your stories and your work. A year ago, I decided that all I wanted to do was to fill my life with things that bring me joy. That includes people and things that I do. These days my world is full of my children, my grandchildren and my crafts. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to your videos. You are soooo inspiring and such a beautiful person. Today’s story about your mom and sister filled my heart. I love that your mom still had your embroidered pieces. What a treasure! When I was young, I too, was very into fashion. In fact, I aspired to be a designer. Life happens, and that didn’t happen for me, however I never gave up my love of sewing. Just a couple of years ago I found Roxy journal of stitchery on UA-cam and began that journey. Just a few months ago, I found you. I am absolutely in love with “Betty’s quilt” and all of your nest. You find the most beautiful embroideries and have a real talent for putting them together. I am working on my first nest, 🥰 but my bigger goal is to make my own “Betty quilt”. Absolutely, absolutely love this for you. There is something about discovering part of you that got put aside-and pure Kate as a girl was pure delight, I have no doubt! When I came back to embroidery in May, I knew so many of the stitches…French knots were delightful, little backstitches…somehow my fingers knew them even thought I can’t remember when I learned them. Isn’t it amazing to rediscover a part of yourself that was hidden? Love your mother stories as you create this beautiful keepsake! When my grandmother passed her kitchen still held all the things I had made her as a child. How she kept the embroidered tea towels hanging and never used them amazes me. There was the mosaic trivit, the hand painted cookie jar, and in her sewing room was the bee hive pin cushion I had fashioned. I was quite the little maker. Lol

How can your cutting upset when you are able to create such joyful pieces?! It happens often that our passions have roots in our young age and we have forgotten about them but then an embroidered shirt reappers thanks to the care of a mum and everything makes sense❤

So happy that your mum kept that and treasured it for all that time and now it’s time to pass it on. I’m so glad you can spend time with your beautiful mum, I wish a can but my mum got her wings 2 years ago. I’m buying other people embroidery to get an idea of how it’s made.
