Necro is a hiphop legend for sure! His music is nostalgic to me, takes me back to the early 2000's when I was in middle school and about to enter high school. My friends and I were hiphop heads since we were like 13. I remember 50 Cent and all those other big rappers at the time being played on the radio everywhere but me and my friends all about underground rap. We were tagger kids too, we were all about that hiphop life style.
Wow, Necro and Ill Bill should write some books. Everything about them is too interesting to be lost to the fact that they don't get asked enough questions.
@@RitualFlip wow yeah that's when I knew him, he lived in Lincoln Park duplexes for a little while in like the summer of 2000, which was mostly white at the time. The area was like a 4 street mix of lower class white suburban teenagers and 18-21 year olds with their own apartments there which westside gun/Alvin had. Necro used to front boxes of his tapes and CDs to people, I need drugs was everywhere. But the black and puertorican kids that had moved from the east side and west side fucked with him as a producer while we liked the beats and lyrics lol Edit. Do you know where he talked about this? I always wonder if hes spoke on when he stayed there.
@@mikeb5067 he mentioned it in an interview where he talked about his first project, and how he threw the wedge of money like a baseball at the engineers face when he left, the engineer didn’t take him seriously or something, was a good interview, I’ll see if I can find it, he gets praised for a lot of stuff underground dudes were doing 97 - 2000 times, sad that necro does not get his flowers for at least contributing to what happening today
The interviewer is def on point saying Necro was ahead of the game, For instance, Who's Ya Daddy sample of The Zombies he did in '05. Eminem used it in '13. Other MC's also used it in between the time span too. I know he's not the 1st to sample it. But, he was the 1st most effective producer to utilize it.
Used to listen to necro in the early days of I need drugs and gory days. Just started down a nostalgia trip and even though I’m old and the gory shit isn’t really my thing anymore, I can still listen to necro. I still like a lot of his references and he’s undoubtedly a master wordsmith and technical rapper. He also has a great sense for what makes a sick beat. His shit is super creative and you can tell he’s an intelligent human being. I’m watching his interviews now and he just has a head on his shoulders and seems to know who he is and what he’s doing.
I remember those days in 2001. I downloaded necro underground, fuckin head split and several others on Kazaa. His death rap changed my whole view on hip hop and rap scene.
This is a really good interview, props to the interviewer for bringing out the best in Necro, you can tell he was impressed with the interview and enjoying it
This was a great interview! Necro can sometimes be somewhat obnoxious and annoying when he's on camera. I like when interviewers know when to let people talk, and not cut them off with dumb questions that ruin the flow of the conversation. I really love that he went into all the details about the old Stretch and Bobbito era. Nobody ever goes back to that. That's the era when I first heard him, on those early radio freestyles he was talking about. I still have those on tape from when I recorded them off the radio.
Necro has an incredible body of work not only his own projects but non phixion stuff the goretex, sabac solos the G rap project.one of the dopest producers all time!!
1:32:48 SUPER SOLID & informative gems here, great content, but I gotta respectfully add on to the bit about Wu-Tang & C.R.E.A.M. song, he said it only has Raekwon & Inspectah Deck on it, which is true regarding verses, but Method Man does the hook.. & since they’re discussing the intangible magic of the song, the chorus is important because that’s what resonated with people the most. Salute
Necro is missing out on Italian Crime-funk band Calibro 35. They started 10 years ago making 70's show themes and turned into a band touring the globe. Checkout album S.P.A.C.E or Ritornano Quelli Di Calibro 35.

Respect to Necro but Bill and Gore have been killin shit these last few years. Its a shame Necro cant put the past behind him and come together with them. He was super bitter that Bill put out "Pulp Phixion" wit a skull on the cover and said it was biting "Pre-Fix for Death". Like really bro?? Get over yourself..

Necro is def underrated

Best necro interview in my eyes
I commented “ shout out uncle fester” on one of necros videos and he responded with “ ya motha ?”. Top 5 best moments of my life.
