  • Mahabharat, the great epic by Rishi Ved Vyas, depicts a vast set of Characters, their morals and immorality, strength and weakness, love and hatred and many other factors that have guided an entire civilisation for centuries. Yet, there have been narratives and myths surrounding the epic including the discussion about it being a Mythology or History. Ami Ganatra delves deep into the narratives built around certain characters and busts the myths.

    Another episode that proves women had power in India, is from Ramayana, when it is shown that Kaushalya, mother of Shree Ram, is the caretaker and governor of big chunk of villages under the rule of Ayodhya. She manages the administration of these villages, collects taxes, provides benefits and looks after these people as her own. It would not have been possible if women did not have power and agency in those times.

    In astrophysics of science which talk about different reference of frame and it states that It is possible that in this universe the same event may look different when viewed from different reference frames. (hindi me is line ko bolu to ho sakta hai is universe me ek hi event alag alag reference of frame se alag alag dikhe)
    i know it is the above line is very complicated to understand but it you watch in youtube there are many video about this topic and with the example they have proved this line
    in today's era people are fighting over who is most powerful god in hinduism but actually in hinduism god is one i.e. parabrahm and sect is just a refernce of frame to perceive the parabrahm
    if you follow vaishnavism sect(refernce of frame) you will find parabrahm is lord vishnu
    if you follow shaivism sect(refernce of frame) you will find parabrahm is lord shiva
    if you follow shaktism sect(refernce of frame) you will find parabrahm is goddess durga
    Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga are same i.e. parabrahm but due to different sects, they appear different to us.
    the beauty of sanatan religion is we have no restriction on choice of god unlike the other religion. because nobody put restriction over god i.e. parabrahm if somebody worship lord ganesha then for him/her lord ganesha is supreme i.e. parabrahm if somebody worship lord hanuman then for him/her lord hanuman is supreme i.e. parabrahm
    sanatan dharm believe that everyone has different image of god in their mind/soul and according to the image he/she should choose god. the idols of gods are representation of complete devotion of devotee toward his/her god
    so all puranas are right but People viewed the same event from different frames of reference, so they saw the same event differently.
    the confusion about the god arises when we trying to understand the god but the god is not a thing to understand but it is a thing to feel like air we can't see the air but we feel the presense of air buy using equipment like fan,AC etc. similarly we can't see god with this physical eyes we just feel the god by our devotion or by penance etc
    that's why i have heard somewhere lord shiva says to his devotees that "don't try to understand me, because i am the above your intellectual power just feel me i am exist everywhere" and irony is foolish people are judge the god by just reading two or three books
    btw, i strongly believe that No one can explain the concept of God better than science.

    Thanks for revealing many things we didn't know, n silently thinking what we seen in series is true. Many questions, no answer was found earlier.
    My question is that all Pandavas were children born of different gods as Kunthi devi's chanting Mantra.
    If so, then KarNa is also the son of Lord SUN. Hence, God's own child took this wrong behaviour character... other five Pandavas' thinking & thirst to know the right ones n learn to live with Dharma. But KarNa is the opposite, being God's son. Please clear this doubt.🙏

    😃 Hi , I have a question. Dharma means to sustainability. And we heard about twin-cycle of performance : work & rest. But in case of Arjuna, Lot of emphasis on "his restless practice" practicing day & night without sleep. Is it sustainable? As a Human I can't do that. Do we have some Knowledge about arjuna's rest phase?
    I'm assuming, since he is not competing with anyone, he has no stress about "what the competitor is doing". So, till the point he loves to work, we work. When he not feel well he take rest.

      Dharma doesn't mean sustainability. Dharma means that which upholds the proper order of everything (called Rtam). Generally, it is distilled for human consumption as it is too vast in its original definition. And even after distillation, it is very hard to grasp the full concept.

    • @amazingcalvin
      @amazingcalvin 19 днів тому +1

      Well, a lot of things that people did in Ramayana and Mahabharata cannot be done by modern humans. Arjuna had a very focused mind more than any of his brothers. "Restless practice" doesn't mean 24/7/365. It's just that he never slacked off when it comes to practice and to learn archery in the dark, he sacrificed a few more hours of sleep than usual. And since he was innately talented and hard working, he managed to master night archery pretty quickly. So after mastering that, there won't be much need for him to keep practicing it as regularly as he did when he was just learning. Regarding competition, I would say that he did view Karna worthy enough to be his rival and some part of motivation to keep practicing or gaining divyastras by doing penances was to prepare for the war and especially against Karna since he had taken an oath in Hastinapur court to kill him. And killing Karna was no mean task even for Arjuna despite being the superior warrior. And above all else, he just plain wanted to push the limits of what he can do with bow and arrows.

      The probability of story of Kaushik rishi to be real might be quite higher than you would expect. Kaushik was always confused about the nature of dharma as to what it is and how it should be followed. So it is very much probable that this really happened. The main hint for this another story in the mahabharat.
      Kaushik rishi was just starting to gain some new powers due to his tapasya, meaning he was relatively new to the ways of being a rishi. When he was meditating, a bird pooped on him from a tree above him. In anger, he glared at the bird and his newfound powers incinerated the bird and killed it. Think of it like superman's eye laser. Although he was initially angry, Kaushik was also surprised that he gained such a power and regretted having caused the death of an innocent bird. Later, he went around many houses and asked them for alms (which in those days were mainly food and not money). In one particular brahmin house, he stood outside and asked for alms. There was a housewife who was busy from her housework and did not hear him. Later, she heard Kaushik rishi and prepared to give him some food but her husband just happened to return hungry as well. So the housewife prioritized serving her husband and after she was done, she came outside with her offerings of food and profusely apologized for the delay.
      But Kaushik rishi was fuming. He chastised her for making a hungry brahmin wait and neglecting dharma and glared at her again just as he did with the bird and his eye laser activated although again, he did not intend to. The woman, however was not affected by his new power. Instead she even rebuked the rishi for being angry which is the most destructive enemy of any spiritual progress and declared that she isn't as easy to kill as the bird was. Kaushik was surprised at how this housewife managed to know about the incident with the bird and enquired further. She said that the reason Kaushik's powers didn't work on her was because she was following the path of dharma as a housewife, which is why she is safe from harm. Seeing that the rishi is visibly confused about the subtle applications of dharma, she advises Kaushik to go and see a certain person in another village where his doubts regarding dharma can be alleviated.
      Going in search of this new person that this housewife recommended, Kaushik is shocked to learn that this person was not only a shudra but also by profession, a butcher. The butcher treated the rishi with respect and to Kaushik's surprise, already knew that the brahmin housewife sent him here. So rishi Kaushik swallowed his pride, distaste for the butcher's stench and profession and followed him to his house. There after a few days of stay, Kaushik learnt to apply dharma a bit better than before.

    • @amazingcalvin
      @amazingcalvin 20 днів тому +1

      Duryodhana got Narayani Sena and Arjuna got an unarmed Krishna. Duryodhana was even delighted and thought that Arjuna was a fool to have rejected one akshauhini of yadava warriors who were known at the time to be one of the best in the entire kurukshetra war in exchanged for an unarmed Krishna that too as a charioteer. Also, Satyaki was one of the greatest heroes of the war not just by talent. He was Arjuna's favorite pupil. That's why he was so powerful. So obviously Satyaki chose the side of Krishna and Arjuna who were dear to him. Kritavarma isn't as weak as you make him out to be. It takes a lot of skill, tenacity and strength to survive a war as brutal as the Kurukshetra war where even better men than both Satyaki as well as Kritavarma, like Abhimanyu, Karna, Bhurisravas, Bhishma, Drona, Shalya, Jayadratha had fallen.

      @@prasannajitswain8400 Why they should not have their own opinion? 1 akshauhini soldiers participated in the war on the Kauravas side. That is almost the entire yadava clan, although not 100%. Duryodhana got what he wanted and he was satisfied. Arjuna got what he want and he was satisfied. If you are saying having Satyaki on Kauravas side was enough to grant them victory, then you are sorely mistaken. Satyaki was almost killed by Bhurisravas and Arjuna had to cut off his arm with an arrow to stop him.

    Puranas are documentaries of different incidents of different time lines, different incidents of different realms or different Universe, I know this sounds really crazy, but preserve my this comment, after 5-10 years you will realise that I'm saying is True, and you will realise that you are late for the conversation

      Could be, I think that could be more of a metaphorical retelling of natural events, or astronomical events, like Shani entering some constellations etc.

      @@crewrangergaming9582 yeah, the tales of Celestial body and astronomical things was used to be told as story, but as science student I know everything are part of energy, living or non-living, and all are connected to the Universe, you, me everything and those things effect in our life and what if We mean our ancestors could effect on the celestial bodies, just like Ravan did, Mahishasur did, they effected Brahma, Brahma is the embodiment of the Universe, isn't it? So what if there some hidden knowledge or lost knowledge that is missing from us, or we are assuming which are as metaphor what if those are not completely metaphorical
