Yes, knowing the Grand Canyon has some COOL rapids, have ya all ever ran a whitewater river in a raft? If memory serves me well, Cataract canyon is on the Utah side where the Colorado meanders through on its way south, but I'm sure there are plenty more rapids in the Arizona part of the river.
For shopping online you can use "croquetero.com" and the delivery takes a maximum of 5 days to the majority of the states. In some (bigger cities) places it takes 2 days or less. "petsy.mx" in this one food takes 2 hours to arrive to your front door if you are in cdmx but if it's any other city it takes 5 business days or more, so no that great. "Petco" it's a NO. You'll never know what carrier they are using and it could take way too long. (5-10 business days).
I'm thinking of taking my Willow dog to Mexico, she is very chill riding in the car, loves people but she is NOT ok w/ other dogs or cats. Wish me luck.
It's unrelated to this video, but does anyone know the easiest way to sign up for an annual pass Mibici pass in Guadalajara? Those Mibici bikes are all over the place and having unlimited rides would be really convenient for us.
HKF1- We found that website, but weren't totally sure how it would work for our situation. It requires a passport and an address for anyone who doesn't live in Mexico. We aren't sure if we can use our Airbnb address or if we have to have our own permanent residence to get a pass. Or perhaps do they have a physical location where we can go buy one in person?
+Susan Fornoff Thanks so much for the info. We got our annual pass today! Your instructions made it super easy to find and confident that we'd be able to get our passes. Look for the video later today :)
I visit mexico every year with my dog and on my last trip we adopted another one off of the street. We traveled by car and when we arrived at the border during one of the busiest times to travel(December) to cross to the u.s they only asked for their rabies certificate. I thought they were going to be stricter but everything went smoothly. On another experience returning to the u.s they asked us if my dog spoke english, laughed and didn't even ask for anything.
So going into Mexico is not a problem? No checking? And coming back in it’s only the rabies vaccine proof or health certificate correct ? Does this also apply to guinea pigs? And is there a limit to how many pets to take or bring back ?
@@MyKingdomhearts1 THANK YOU SO MUCH 4 THAT INFO. My Berner haa allergies so hes on a salmon based holistic kibble and its hars to find even in USA. As long as I can get a salmon kibble it will be fine. I guess I could order from Amazon MX right? I think they have it.
Very nice video guys and great topic, I’m planning on going to Mexico at the end of the year for a few months and taking my dogs so this is good info, now Rut question would be crisscrossing back into the USA
I moved to Mexico with my Labradoodle in Nov 2017. As far as a few difficulties... It does help that my dog is pretty obedient and is a service dog in US but, as he is not "working" here, and rarely has his working vest on, there were some adjustments he had to make in public. He does want to meet and play with every single street dog or the many dogs on walkies with their owners, some on lead but many off lead. I'll firmly second the ease of meeting new people walking dog. I went to Belize, sans dog, last week and left him with a friend and her dog who he loves. While I was packing he became stressed and threw up. After I left, the same day, and he was upstairs with his human and doggie friends, he threw up two more times. He is a very low key, calm, older dog who rarely exhibits much anxiety and hardly ever throws up. He knew something was up when I started pulling backpack and suitcase out. I flew into Mexico with him in the cabin with me as he is service dog. For him the plane ride was not much different from a trip in car. As he had his vest on in Airports and plane he was especially observant of polite behavior. I'm pretty sure that there is a standard International protocol for taking a dog into Mexico. You have to use a Vet who is certified to examine dog, give any shots necessary, administer external and internal parasite meds (required by Mexico), and complete the form in duplicate/triplicate, all with Vet's signature and not copies. I would advise chipping your dog too in case you get separated for whatever reason. When flying in you make a stop by the Agriculture Ministry in airport. They will examine dog and papers and collect a small fee. So it is important to arrive during working hours I think. Mexico will recognize a 3 year rabies vaccination for US dogs. You have to have the dog examined and paperwork completed within a few days of arriving in Mexico....... Safe travels. Peace
Wow you really know your way around dogs and traveling! Thanks for all the great info. Luckily Laska is already microchipped in case she ever decided to make a run for it. Our poor pups getting stressed out and sick! She seems to be much better now that we've stayed in one place for a few weeks... no more vomiting. We'll keep that in mind about going during working hours. Very good to know!
Good thought! We'll have to revisit that in a few months and we'll certainly do that before heading to the border to be absolutely sure she can come back. Thanks Eddy!
I don't have a dog, but I do have three cats and I can't imagine how would it be like traveling with them! Haha. Love your vids, they makes me laugh a lot
Three cats, now that sounds like a handful! According to a friend of mine, cats are the WORST travelers in the car. Even in a small cage, hers FREAK. OUT. Can't imagine it would be an enjoyable road trip if that was happening all the time.
I have 3 cats and I would like to move us all to Mexico. I hadn’t thought about driving there until watching this video. One of my cats is ok with travel because I take him for rides often but the other two need practice.
+Bryan Orozco hey there! We just did a video yesterday that answers this question and related ones about driving a car in Mexico. It’s in our “cost of living in Mexico” video if you’d like to check it out. Let us know if you have any other questions 😄
About food........... Traveling can be difficult. My friend from Canada brought dehydrated food for her dog to Mexico. Hers is human grade meats, extremely high quality, and EXTREMELY high cost, though. When I first arrived I did abruptly switch my dog to a Purina that my friends were feeding their dogs. I can't advise doing this with your dog but my boy adapted well to it until I could locate a better food. I'm in Playa del Carmen. The larger groceries like, Mega, Chadraui, Walmart have most of the grocery brands we have in US. I was feeding Costco's Nature Recipe in US. I have located it at Costco in Cancun. The major thing I observed feeding my dog the grocery brands was that he, for first time in life, he's 9 yr, started exhibiting some itching that subsided somewhat when I got him back on the Nature's Recipe. Some pet stores and Organic store may have higher quality foods but at a very high cost. Although I'm vegan my dog still eats meat products but does much better eating dog foods that don't contain grains.
Thanks for the helpful info! We've found Purina to be the best for Laska too. Other loose dog food we often see at convenience stores doesn't do well with her at all unfortunately. That's usually the cheapest stuff around too. Costco has some of the highest quality dog food you can find in stores, but since they sell it in bulk, it's almost impossible to travel with that much. We might try out another commenter's suggestion and start feeding her fresh cooked rice and chicken in place of dry food sometimes.
There are some good UA-cams for feeding fresh and raw. I've considered but it was a bit difficult to store produce and meats until I purchased a larger refrig. I'm correcting .... the Costco brand is Nature's Domain. One time I ran out of dog food and purchased a small bag from an open market up the street. At the time Moe Doodle was eating Purina. The next day after eating the cheap cheap cheap stuff.... he had four huge poos in one walkie. Except for my Mastiffs I've never seen so much poo. Cheers
Sorry, but Purina is pure poison. All the dog food companies in Mexico are owned by the globalist who don't care about our animals. I am moving to Mexico and putting them on a high-quality raw food diet and bringing a ton with me. Home-cooked meals would be way better if you don't want to feed raw
Saw a tangerine Prius C at work today and thought of you two. ;-) From Chandler, AZ. Appreciate the video as we expect to still have three dogs when we travel through Mexico in a few years.
Ha! That is so awesome :) At the time I bought my car, it was the ONLY tangerine Prius C3 in the entire state. Felt pretty special at the time, and it was part of the reason we named our travel blog after the car. :) I suppose it's okay if there are more in there in AZ now ;) Glad you found the video useful! Sounds like you're going to have your hands full with three pups. Hope they're more well-behaved than Laska. lol
I know this is an old video. But I’m hoping to find out when you’ve drove into Mexico did you ever have to get the pup inspected by SENASICA? I’m getting mixed information saying they are not at the boarder they are only at airports. And that since they are not at the boarder you need to go make an appointment with them. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for you channel it rocks!
Thanks for the video, I wondered when the head gong was coming :) A suggestion regarding feeding a dog while travelling: chicken and rice is a good combo for dogs, and those two things can be found pretty much anywhere. If that was the main staple, one could just supplement with dry food, and not have to worry quite as much about trying to find the same kind every time. Could also mean a little more room in the car when travelling from city to city.
Good point! We kinda forgot about doing that. Before we left for Mexico, that's basically what we were feeding Laska for about two months! She loved it and we got to clear things out of the freezer before "launch day" haha! Good ol' chicken, rice, and coconut oil.... her fave!
Great advice about asking AirBnB host, in advance, about accepting dog even if it isn't listed on AirBnB. When I decided to stay long term in Playa del Carmen and my AirBnB hostess was helping me find places to stay until my "forever home" became available, it was moderately difficult to find a place to stay that accepted dogs at a reasonable price. There were plenty of AirBnB places near to my original place at great prices but they didn't accept dogs. We did find me an apartment, across town, that was extremely dog friendly and it was a great place but it cost 3 times what my AirBnB cost for long term rental. This was also during high season which makes locating reasonably priced, nice places more difficult to find for immediate booking. I stayed in a small hotel next to my AirBnB for a few nights until the temporary apartment opened up. Althouh the owner and staff are all dog lovers and have many rescued street dogs the Hotel does not accept pets. As my AirBnB hostess knows the owner she gave special permisson with some stipulations that I gladly followed.
Sounds like you had to jump through so many hoops to find a place, that stinks! People in Mexico are the most generous and accommodating people we've ever met though. We are constantly surprised at how hospitable hosts are in each location. It's one of the reasons we love spending time here!
Flip from vomiting? YIKES! That's scary. Despite her throwing up from time to time, she's a pretty healthy dog and seems to recover from just about anything. Almost like a cat with unlimited lives. Including the very scary near-death experience when she licked garbage juice off the floor. See #7... doing anything she possibly can to get into trouble and make things more difficult. lol
just a comment. By now you must know that it is required by law the use of a leash in most cities. Now, a lot of mexicans do not comply with the law, but you do not want to have troubles.
Hi, nice video, come to Morelia! It’s called “La ciudad de la cantera rosa” and it’s close to Guadalajara, it’s a peaceful, beautiful colonial place with much culture, the center of the city is one of the most beautiful in Mexico.
So many people are recommending we visit Morelia! We will definitely have to make a trip there. Sounds like a gorgeous place to visit. :) Thanks for the comment Luis!
Hahahahahaha Laska is really handful. I can imagine the struggles you must have had with her. Hahaha with Laska, Maddie you are gymming your upper body.
Great info, looks Alaska is a younger dog, especially a husky, has tons of energy bottled up. need to wear him out you will have a very happy dog. He is beautiful. And really enjoy your videos !!
Laska is awesome. In Mexico I would recommend The Honest Kitchen, which is human grade products. And Blue Buffalo, which is also all natural and without byproducts. Keeping her on one of these two brands may give her some stability, especially given the stress of car travel. Most other American brands are available but must have byproducts, which If you look up what that means, it ain’t pretty. I also agree with one of the other comments here, if she is puckey, cooked chicken and plain rice is very effective.
Sorry, we never got back to you amigo! Thanks for the recommendation about The Honest Kitchen. We've tried Blue Buffalo and she really liked it but it's expensive to get here. She's had Costco brand most of her life, and according to dogfoodadvisor.com, Costco sells high-quality dog food. Since it's reasonably affordable and easy for us to get, that's what we ended up switching to.
Hi. I just found you recently, and am bing watching to catch up. But I saw you mentioned problems with dogs and food. Love your channel. Very informative and interesting. I would also caution that dogs can get sick from being in sea water when they are unaccustomed to it.
Thanks for watching our videos wbmoore! Hope you're still enjoying them. Good to know! Laska didn't seem to have problems near the sea, but she may have gotten a bit out of sorts in high altitude.
Many, if not all of your troubles would be solved with obedience classes. Trust me, it'll significantly increase your quality of life and hers as well. Dogs thrive very well when they know what you want, and obedience classes establish a common language between you. AND, it's a lot easier to find a place to stay when you have a dog that presents itself in a controllable manner. I've even easily convinced hotel owners to let us stay in their facility because I could easily show them what a non-issue his behavior was. Good luck!
Very good points Kimberly! We've been wanting to get her into some obedience classes, but it was impossible while we were traveling from place to place, only staying for a week or so in each. Now that we'll be in Guadalajara, that's high on our list of priorities. Huskies are known to be somewhat disobedient if they don't have proper boundaries and you are totally right... it would really increase everyone's quality of life! Thanks for the comment :)
@@TangerineTravels A simple start is to short leash her when she pulls, bring her right back beside you and give her a serious expression, with out laughing. Using visual signs every time will help, hand or finger signs she can see you do every time you give a command. When I spend time with our dogs instead of the kids they will sit and heel with a hand command only, the dogs and kids, lol my daughters never listen anymore. We have a Shiba that lives up to the reputation for running. When my daughters ran miles for cross country practice he was happiest, never done running but happier. This may sound mean to some but dogs and children are safer and happier if they know what they can do, what is expected and you keep them safe.
I have a dog that will only eat the same food for a while so all of our dogs go from one food to another every bag. I work to keep the wheat and corn out of it. You need to explain to her what is going on, she is so adorable. She needs a little discipline lessons maybe, still looks like a pup though. Just thinking back to when I was your age and wonder how well you fight, it is very clear who wins them. I hope you break 100K subs soon you deserve the subs your videos are done very well.
Have you guys seen the *Yanny and Laurel* video going viral? I know it doesn't have anything to do with your channel, but I think you'll find it interesting. 👍
Laska is so cool tho, I guess having a dog/pet is just like having a kid haha so you guys will be ready for when the time comes xD thats if ya'll ever consider having kids:)
Oh man, that's so true. She's like a ballistic toddler sometimes....Running around and drawing on the walls, spilling things, throwing up randomly. hahaha
You have no idea. She’s psycho! We’re hoping to get her some good training while we’re here in GDL. Someone recommended one in Zapopan but it would be a pretty big time commitment for two weeks.
Strangely, Tangerines are not common in Mexico; they seem to be imported and they are more expensive. Oranges and Tangerines should be grown local, but they seem to be imported. Oh, my dog went to Mexico and they didn't check the docs. going into Mexico or coming back; however, it's more likely to be checked coming back and immigration has a lot of people ex-military and acting very, very nasty - sometimes even dishonest - the Mexicans could care less, but Americans like to be nasty to EVERYONE and might make life difficult for YOU and the DOG - they just don't care!!!
Interesting! We would have thought oranges would be grown here, especially since they're used so often for fresh-squeezed juice. Aw that's too bad. Not sure why US military/law enforcement needs to act like that. It's unnecessary. You can get the job done and still maintain authority without being a dick.
Tangerines and oranges are common in méxico, but the season is around october, november and december...there are very cheap....but if you try to buy in other season it is very expensive because we export most of the fruit... also here in monterrey we have orange all year and very cheap we are the bigest orange producer in the country.
Strangely, Mexicans are very polite and friendly; not so with many American border officials, but some of them are nice. They'll even fake things to cause grief, so not sure why the USA is so unfriendly, but it is. It is the low quality and lack of proper training for border officials - they try to make a name for themselves and it helps if they are nasty.

Hi guys! One question: what software do you use to edit your videos?
Hey Melissa! We use iMovie.
Id just like to say that dogs stomachs are different than ours. If their stomachs flip, they die. Love your vids.
Flip from vomiting? YIKES! That's scary. Despite her throwing up from time to time, she's a pretty healthy dog and seems to recover from just about anything. Almost like a cat with unlimited lives. Including the very scary near-death experience when she licked garbage juice off the floor. See #7... doing anything she possibly can to get into trouble and make things more difficult. lol
Love Laska!
Thanks for watching Mrs. Alice! Or do I just say Alice now? ;)
Wow! Maddie you're as strong as Jordan, both of ya can lift that big, beautiful Laska easy, no problemo! :)
+Joe Serrano Hahaha! I may have struggled a little bit ;)
just a comment.
At least she counterbalances her craziness with cuteness and affection! :) Oh man, I need to hit the gym if I want to pick her up more often lol!
Tangerine Travels yes she is adorably cute. I love seeing her.
Hit that gym hahahaha. I think Jordan should get Laska her shades too haha
which part of guadalajara are you guys livingin?
We're just down the street from Avenida Chapultepec
Great info,
looks Alaska is a younger dog, especially a husky, has tons of energy bottled up. need to wear him out you will have a very happy dog. He is beautiful. And really enjoy your videos !!
Awesome video with Laska (la estrella de la familia), especially at the end 😂
🐾 paws up!
Thanks Miguel! La estrella, por seguro!
Good to no,nice video 🐶
Thanks for watching fellow husky lover! 😄
Laska is awesome :D , love these videos, the bell "gong" is a bit loud when using headphones though.
Yay, thanks Ronin! We've since reduced the volume of the bell by 50% in later videos. Sorry about that!
Your car is tangarine color🍊now I get it🤔😂
By the way in Spanish your channel would be Viajeros Mandarina🍊
We don't highlight Lizzie (the car) nearly as often as wel should haha ;)
Viajeros Mandaria, awesome!
Ofc Laska is my favourite :D i want to have her puppies...
That sounds wrong XD
Hahah! Sadly, she can't have puppies anymore... and she's kinda psycho most of the time. Not sure if the world needs Laskitas running around lol!
Awwww, definetly not enough Laskitas in the world.
"Laskitas" BLA HAHAHA!!
I don't think we have! We'll try and hunt that down...
Could be an option to buy online, I was using petsy.com they have delivery 📦 :D
Laska is so cool tho, I guess having a dog/pet is just like having a kid haha so you guys will be ready for when the time comes xD thats if ya'll ever consider having kids:)
Oh man, that's so true. She's like a ballistic toddler sometimes....Running around and drawing on the walls, spilling things, throwing up randomly. hahaha
Looks like you struggle to keep Laska under control, that pup could use some training!
You have no idea. She’s psycho! We’re hoping to get her some good training while we’re here in GDL. Someone recommended one in Zapopan but it would be a pretty big time commitment for two weeks.
🐺
Loba! Haha :)
Yes, it would seem they would be ideal for Mexico, but I was surprise in Puerto Vallarta they are very expensive compared to other fruits. Thanks!
Mexico is the third largest grower of tangerines in the world. www.internationalcitrusandproduce.com/products-by-line/mexican-tangerines/940/
Strangely, Mexicans are very polite and friendly; not so with many American border officials, but some of them are nice. They'll even fake things to cause grief, so not sure why the USA is so unfriendly, but it is. It is the low quality and lack of proper training for border officials - they try to make a name for themselves and it helps if they are nasty.
aaaawwwww ♥️🐶♥️
Do you realize what you say at 3:20 Even google auto translate agrees with what I heard, "any concerns with eating Laska" cannot believe it. that is a slip or feeding sounds funny. I am sure it is a slip or I and google hear it wrong, but come on. Maybe my distant relatives but not you Maddie?
Nothing about Laska could be ugly, on the good, the bad and the awesome. I think she is telling you she has to go peepee sometimes.
You guys annoying. But thanks
