    Thanks for the story. Poor woman 😢, she died a terrible painful death and her poor baby in the womb didn't get a chance to see the day of light. They both deserve to get justice. If Eddie did it then Divine justice will sure work on him. Rip Marie and the little one 🌷

    I think of this poor young woman every time I drive along the M50. It is still an unlit road and eerie to go along at night.

    Not an "unsolved" murder at all. The police had the right man, who was duly tried, convicted, and sentenced. The overturning of his sentence on a technicality does NOT change the fact that he was guilty of the murder.

      It says unresolved, not unsolved. It's not resolved because the conviction was overturned.

    This was wild because all of the towns you mentioned are right around Worchester, MA, USA as well. I was confused at first. I guess they just copied all the nearby towns when they got to the new world.

      This was almost 40 years ago, police did not have all the modern technology they do these days. They obviously knew he had done it as they did not go after anyone else after the verdict was overthrown.

    If a conviction is overturned due to conflicting or impeached evidence, isn't it normal procedure to retry the case using the remaining evidence? It seems that, although circumstantial, there was an abundance of other witness accounts, the cars description in particular, and the tire tread matching the ones at the scene, which pointed heavily towards the suspect. Lacking conclusive physical evidence, there was still a convincing case against him, even without the license plate.

      There are many technicalities woven into the law that enable criminals to go free.

    He shouldn't have been able to move freely by that time in the first place
    Also I'm so sick of the fact that even now, STILL, they can just marry someone to be able to do these crimes against that person without going to jail. That is actually insane

    This is so very sad. Women just aren’t safe anywhere.

    • @pulaski1
      @pulaski1 Місяць тому +3

      Objectively, that is correct, unfortunately. It has been true for as long as mankind has existed, and supposed "civilization" and modern education, has not changed things much.
      Please not I am not excusing the behavior, just noting that there seems to be little that we are able to do to make the world a safer place for women, other than having a family member accompany them at all times. And ironically there is a high likelihood that if a woman is assaulted or killed, the attacker is her domestic partner/ boyfriend.

    • @no_peace
      @no_peace Місяць тому +1

      @@pulaski1 no, there are tons of things we can do.

    • @pulaski1
      @pulaski1 Місяць тому +1

      @no_peace "Tons of", such as [zero examples provided]. 🙄
      Anything that has already been tried doesn't count as an example, as while thankfully relatively rare, every year there are still reported cases of women being snatched, attacked, and murdered from pretty much anywhere they go - out walking, hiking, cycling, in their car, in a parking lot, outside their home, outside their place of employment, outside/walking to a bar or restaurant, or all too commonly, in their own home, whether by partner, family member, or intruder. And irrespective of whether they are carrying a pistol or mace or taser (where legal), or other deterent (whistle, keys used as weapon, _etc.)_ or have taken self defense/ martial art classes, or their age or physical abilities.
      Wherever women go there are, every year, examples of women being abducted from there and attacked.
