I have a feeling that nothing sold there since 2015. My Grandparents say they had a catalog with home delivery that was like a low tech Amazon and it had a lot more items in the old days. You’re right they could have beaten Amazon to the market but went sideways
Sears would often charge double what the market rate for an item was and then put a 50% sale on to drive people to their stores. Customers realized that the sale price was the price they should hold out for in the end.
Holy hell. This is absolutely a vacant store. I'm gonna be honest. Vacant Sears locations owned by Transformco do more harm to malls than good. Even the Sears locations that are open do next to no good. They're not horrible. At least the locations they have open are relatively clean but they are the lowest of the low stores which is absolutely sad. They used to be the highest quality department stores that sold the best of the best quality goods. Now they they are the lowest quality department stores to still exist. No wonder the Gardens Mall in Florida didn't want Sears in their mall. Neither did Newport Centre in New Jersey. They're an absolutely horrific tenant.
I worked at Sears 10 years ago and I was warned by my boss not to help customers diagnose their lawnmower problems. In other words, even when I knew what was wrong with their lawnmowers, I was instructed to play dumb and tell them I couldn't help them.
Home Depot, Sears, Value, Lowes etc... won't hire me because I am over qualified and they are afraid I would tell them a cheap fix instead of pushing them to buy new or more expensive items. My family owned a Hardware store for 59 years. I worked there for over 16 years. Best years of my life
Funny you mentioned this. My mother had bought a refrigerator from Sears many years ago and it was defective. And on top of it all, they would not honor the warranty until the tech that they sent out actually helped us fix it and deal with customer service. And it helped that this tech was an old high school friend.
Spread averything out so it look full.. matresses take up a lot of room. Our Metrocenter Mall had 3 floors on the Sears.. I remeber going there and it was all full as a kid... our store is gone now
Former site of Frederick and Nelson until the company that started in 1891 closed up shop in 1992 over bankruptcy. Anchor was built 1968 as F&N and became Sears in 1994
I worked at Sears while going to college, back in the mid to late 90s. THOSE where the days! Never would have guessed in a million years, back then, their demise.
In 2017, Sears stopped selling Whirlpool appliances which it carried since 1916
Over a pricing dispute
Probably concerns with Sears paying for inventory.
Sears don't carry Whirlpool appliances anymore due to a dispute over pricing of the products
Sad to see this. America will be looking like Sears in another decade

Coral gables was busy in appliances for Labor day sale. They had good quality products and very organized.

Many retailers do this. Thus a big reason why Walmart and Amazon are winning.
I still have the Kenmore washer dryer I bought at Sears in 2005
Now everything is DOA or breaks after a year

The absense of large scale shelving and wall displays makes this store look like a fly by night operation.
Formerly Frederick and Nelson. Now Sears since 1994
I used to go to Sears when I was little in 2016
3:03 This floor used to have the following departments:
Home Electronics
Appliances
Tools
Fitness and Sports
Lawn and Garden
Grills
Patio Furniture
This floor of a Sears*
no employees either. I guess theyve just abandoned it at this point and are ready to close it once some business things go through
