Well, to be fair, while they did become permanent friends/on-and-off (mostly on) partners (formerly boyfriend and girlfriend, nowadays spouses, or so I think) around the near-end of the show, Mason’s first impression was pretty scary because he blurted out that he used to be the boyfriend of Juliet (it’s not like he couldn’t help it, I just think he was using her since the climax of Wizards vs. Werewolves did have Mason as the antagonist since he went full werewolf) to Alex and that upset Alex because she was worried about him - worried that he could be like any other toxically masculine young man (and of course, he grew out of it since the first time we saw him in a while after his debut in Saving Mason Greyback, although Wizard of the Year had a lot of potential because the WotY ceremony was held does have a very extravagant design, it was held back with young men being out of character like Mason and Chase having an angry love rivalry for Alex’s heart, heck, even Justin was out of character because while he did have a reason to be angry since he worked so hard to win an award by even being on level 5, he didn’t have to lose his cool in the recording but had to stay professional and fair that his siblings also worked as hard as they could to get where they were at).
It consumed every waking hour tbh. It was too much

@@KittyJ12 Thank you, you’ve perfectly described why it’s actually UNDERRATED because of these people (if anything, I think it’s even better than Malex because to be fair, before they rekindled their relationship in the late fourth season, Mason standing up Alex and fighting with guys including Chase for her heart as if he were Archie Andrews and Chase were Reggie Mantle was expectable. Just because he’s a werewolf doesn’t mean he can’t control his temper.)

YO Alex & Mason’s break-up is one of the healthiest. She gave him reasons, she didn’t get too emotional, and that’s so unbelievably mature for her character. I love her

i was so frustrated during this scene like, we waited the whole season 1 and half of season 2 for them to date, then they breakup for the most stupid reason and then they start dating again and then they have to break up like i was literally about to break everything in my room, i fucking hated jimmy because of that, to me its the hardest breakup ever all tho at the end of season four when we find out they arent together anymore is literally the saddest thing ever but yeah, Austin and ally are endgame.

I think part of why Liv and Holden was so devastating is because no one was at fault. They were both in the right, just wanted different things, and that lack of betrayal or toxicity makes it that much more heartbreaking when things don't work out. It's relatable too. You can't always have everything you want, and it sucks.

ME TOO! THANK YOU! I was a little bit older when Wizards was ending so I remembered this scene and thinking that even though Alex was supposed to be this "badass rebel" she was such a good influence.

With Holden and Liv, imagine how terrible Holden must’ve felt when Liv started crying. He obviously heard her because if you listen closely, he walks away and opens the door. She instantly starts crying and after she sobs loudly, you hear the door close meaning that he heard her start crying. Imagine what that must’ve done to him 😭💔

Liv and Holden’s break up made me so mad at Maddie because Digbert knew it was her anyway because he can tell between the two of them and it made me so frustrated and then Liv and Holden’s relationship wasn’t fixed and they weren’t endgame and it made me so upset

Maddie and Diggie's breakup scene gave me a visceral reaction. Like Maddie really expected Diggie to at least reason with her and consider her feelings about him staying but he didn't. And when she threatened the breakup and he didn't even hesitate, he was on board immediately you can see how much that stung her. Then he was just like "see you around, Rooney." like ROONEY? she's just ROONEY now, that quick? I could vomit.
I'm not blaming Diggie for wanting to chase his dreams over a high school relationship, and Maddie needs to understand that some opportunities are once in a lifetime, but it really looked like he didn't even care about her, he would only stay with her if it was convenient for him.
I love that instead of hating each other teddy and Skylar sorta became friends. It definitely sets a good example

I'm not someone who cries very easily, and I never really liked Maddie and Diggie together, but Dove's performance was so touching I was literally bawling. Especially after Diggie leaves and she throws the basketball into the basketball stand and then Karen comes and she just kind of breaks down *chef's kiss* best scene in the entire show
Can we talk about how diggie left HER for 8 MONTHS, and only comes back just to leave again. And then he sees her with someone else and becomes a possessive person. Like WOW, the toxicity diggie didn’t even care about how Maddie felt.

The one thing that showed Liv & Holden were an amazing couple was that liv accepted the fact that she wasn’t ready for a relationship with him and Holden accepted that too and had the decency to still remain good friends.

On one hand, if Liv is breaking promises and never considering her boyfriend's feelings, that's a good reason to break up. Like who cares what Diggie thinks about Maddie's new relationship, they're EXES. Liv should have explained that to her. But at the same time I can see why she wanted to help her sister. I believe at this stage in their relationship, a sibling would still be more important. It's hard to do the right thing when there's multiple loved ones involved. A relationship shouldn't be your "everything." Especially if it's a high school one.

the scene where holden starts crying always makes me cry. i think its because the media always portrays guys as angry/jealous at the end of a breakup, even though a lot of the times they're just as heartbroken as the girls. that final liv and maddie scene really proved how men showing emotion is not a sign of weakness, but rather as a decision of maturity.

He did not care when she said she would not wait for him, he did not think about how hard him leaving is on her, and he legit thought she was the problem and not the fact that he wanted to leave her again. The Liv and Holden one is the one that hit home the most for me. My ex was kinda like that too where I wanted the relationship to be my everything and she wanted it to be one of her things. We were a happy really good couple too so it hurt even more when she was the one that broke up with me last month. So yeah I felt that one on a whole personal level

I was so heart broken when I got to the part where Sonny and Chad broke up. But my life is now complete because it was confirmed my Demi and Sterling that they would have gotten back together if it wasn't for Demi leaving the show.
