I’m a engineer and worked with all the brands. When is about small (A4/Letter format) I can confirm HP is a reliable one but also expensive to use. There are a lot of things considering when buying such a device like how much the consumables costs? What is the cost per page? There are any “compatible” consumables? There are 2 main things you change a lot: toner and drum and also the rubber rollers are wearing out and they are not cheap to replace. Brother has simple reliable equipments I recommend. Canon is not a great what and is sharing parts with others has no tradition in xerography, you should avoid Xerox and Lexmark, very expensive to run and not so reliable the new ones, Kyocera is a leader in this market but more for more expensive ones.
I have used an HP Color LaserJet M255dw for years and all my full-color documents have a turquoise hue. A solid cream background will print in an ombre effect across the page from turquoise to mauve. This drives me crazy! I tried to upgrade to a newer version of the printer and the print result was worse (unusable). After a few hours with product support and no solution, I returned the printer. No matter what full-color image I print (I've checked the pixel colors. It's not my artwork) it prints in hazy rainbows. First of all, does anyone know what is going on? Is it the heating element? Second, is either the Brother or Canon good for professional, full-color pages? Are their cartridges cost-effective?
Just threw away $1,000 worth of HP printers. Laserjet had streaming. Fully rebuilt it, including rollers, problem persisted. $700 down the drain. Another was an officejet that had a firmware that would not accept non-hp inks without hacking the firmware. Requires a USB cable and hacked drivers to do this. Forget HP. Scum bags.
I think its my most hated brand. My simple HP Officejet stopped connecting to my computer over wifi for no apparent reason . Same wifi router same laptop same every f***in thing . Even reinstalling the drivers did not solve it. Unbelievable
whats the best scanner brand model that scans fast i have a old rare book id like to scan my scanners hp and epson are way too slow and not good enuff to to use what scanner or printer scanner should i be on the look out for my good will always has expensive printers i was recommend a brother laser printer ad it has been the best i ever had zero problems that was recommended to me as one thats highly sot after
My canon lide scanner scans BW docs at 600dpi, to produce a 100kb-150kb pdf file. My HP 426 produces a 1MB file even at 200dpi. The HP has an ADF so it helps! Is there anything that I can do to the HP to get smaller sized PDFs at higher dpi? Playing around with the PDF quality settings in the scan popup hasn't been successful.
Perhaps I missed it, but I’m curious to know how you conduct your research. Is it based off hands-on experience or simply by the description, capabilities / functions, price-point and reviews from others?
Will the M283 use aftermarket toner or are you stuck using HP toner? Also, I have an old HP 4700 Color LaserJet Printer that does everything I need. It prints letter and legal size paper from 20# to heavy card stock. It prints double sided and I use it for printing books with color photos. I am now having problems with it, as it has around 500k copies on it and I need to get another printer. Will the M283 give me the same results? I don't need all the fancies, just a good quality color laser printer. Tried to contact HP for some information and their sales team is useless. Your help is appreciated.
The M283 is a great option. It should hold up like your older HP LaserJet pretty much all of the LaserJet printers you can use aftermarket toner on. You'll save so much by going that route.
@@BestPrinters Thank you for your quick reply. What are your thoughts on the M283 vs the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw? I can't find any comparison charts as to quality, etc., but I did read some place that the 4301 blocks the use of non-HP toner.
Wow, I just found this on the HP website, pertaining to toner usage: "This printer is intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip, and it uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. A reused HP chip enables the use of reused, remanufactured, and refilled cartridges."
Same here after reading about them bricking inkjets when 3rd party ink is used. Wouldn't put it past them to do the same for laser printers in the near future
My HP got bricked years ago. I took it back to Costco and got my money back. I would never touch them again. I don't care how good other people say they are.
I just went back and read the article on Wired. It confirmed my suspicions. That company is not to be trusted. I don't care how much they invested in their own IP.
@@azuritet3 Can't say i've had better with Canon. My Canon MFW's drivers/network are a nightmare (both with Mac & PCs). I switched from HP and am regretting it. At least my last HP was more reliable when it came to performing.
Can you please explain me how is it possible HP to be better than Canon, while This HP that you mention uses the same exact printing engine with CANON? This engine is developed by Canon! If you search through the internet you will learn from professionals that use all these printers that HP drivers are a mess! You are just an HP advertiser mate nothing more! 😂
But so far, hp laserjet is very reliable i have not come across any problem.. mine is hp laserjet mfp m28w. Bought in 2021, compatible toners are cheap too! ❤
I bought this exact Hp 283mdw, and its failed at 3 years. Little use (200 pages/month), and it has started making terrible noises. Warranty only 2 years and HP just told me sorry, have to replace it. No money off or replacement by then. Piece of crap.
I just hate HPs . Cant stand them. Why on earth would a wireless officejet suddenly lose connection and not able to run anymore? Same wifi network same everything kust suddenly stops

Thanks for video. Would you like to recommend us a printer that scans at 2 sides? most of them only 1 page
All of these have an ADF which can scan 2 sides, double check the product description of course.
According to the Best Buy and Office Depot websites, the Brother printer does not duplex scan

All of the above
What about an air printer that can print from an iPhone or iPad?
Pretty much all of these have that capability nowadays, double check on the spec sheet before buying
What about a printer that can type from an iPhone or ipad
Most of these can.
I we like it
Nice!

Sorry, but I will never consider an HP after what the CEO just recently said. Their practices are scummy.
