I have nothing but respect for the people who upload these college major seminars onto youtube, really helps the high schoolers who aren't sure what they want to pursue when they graduate.

The difference boils down to do you want to be involved in stopping the criminal (Criminal Justice) or do you want to spend time conducting an academic study by observing the criminal who committed the crime.

@@erespijo Yes, you are correct. I actually have degrees in each, but I prefer being a practitioner to being a scholar.

From the criminal justice policies procedures. Why do we not hold officers accountable for inappropriate, and unprofessional performance of duties?

@@jeromekearney Depending on your definition of accountability we do. Officers can be disciplined internally, or subject to dismissal or even criminal charges. But like our legal system, the system is not perfect.

Some colleges let you double major. For example, major in both psychology & criminal justice with a forensic science minor. You can also minor in psychology

Criminology is a social science. They would want to study Criminal Psychology. Criminology is more concerned with how criminals Organize into groups, gangs and cults. Psychology delves into Individual actors and what motivates them.

Criminal Justice is an easy two-year degree. This will get you a job as Jail Staff or security personnel. You can process offenders through the system and know how to manage evidence ect... Detectives need a Bachelor of Science degree.
