It's just unbelievable how U2, Madonna, and Rolling Stone have continued to sell out stadiums in dozens and dozens of countries across the globe in their 50s and 60s while Katy and Britney got shipped to Vegas in their 30s. Goes on to show that legends and cultural icons are born once in a generation.
For sure. Some of it has to do with their kids though. Even Adele, arguably the biggest music-seller at the moment who could easily sell out stadiums, has stated her preference to not tour with a young child in tow. They want to stay put in one place.
There are plenty of artists from this era touring stadiums though. Ed sheeran, Adele, Beyonce, Lady Gaga will be soon, Taylor swift and I can see all those artists continuing to do stadiums throughout their careers.
Britney is a cultural icon in many ways though, even if she doesn't sell the same.
