Raccoons are actually very clean animals, and will always use the same place to go to the bathroom in. You could try to repel the raccoons by applying some scents to the corner of the deck they were using. They don't like the smell of: garlic, hot pepper, peppermint oil, onion, Epsom salt.
aw that's so nice to know! So far there has only been one poop incident so if we can maintain this level of peaceful visits I will allow it (why am I writing like the raccoons read my youtube comments)

Please do fun things with your child. Chances are they will enjoy it and the bond will grow super strong between you.
yes!! We were so burnt out after this makeover, but top of the list for next year is sealing the deck and building some kind of gazebo/shade sail thing, and string lights, and an outdoor movie theatre???

Wisteria, jasmine or climbing roses would look amazing if you consider those in future.
