    I love how smooth his 200 mph ball speed swing looks.
    Looks the same as most average pro hitting their 160 ball speed fairway finder.
    And according to PING who put him on ENSO Mocap lab he also have the fastest hand speed out of anyone they tested at 28.5 mph.

    The modern driver swing requires you to remain behind the ball in the downswing. I have seen Bubba Watson with his front foot off the ground and his weight on his hind leg at the point of contact.

    You're right about that, Steve, I do have that right foot drag after impact with my drives. I teed up once and my right toes drew like a line on the tee box after impact. I was unaware of this going on until that day; the course was soft.

    Hi Steve, One think that he also does, which I think is the most important part of his swing, is "spinning the meatball". I started that move a month ago and had never broken my age of 71. In the last 3 weeks, I have done it 3 times. You can't hit it left even when attacking. It should be fun watching him develop.

    Thanks Steve. I never picked up on the stance and right foot action. He does "hititlonger" than Bryson. They'e both powerhouses except that when Wilco does it, it looks so much more relaxed and smooth.

    Kid can smash it, just found him recently. What's crazy is his hips don't really rotate much in the backswing. Maybe 10-20° and really only his torso and arms getting the club back. Definitely rotates the forward tho. Fun to watch for sure.

  • @jeffrichardson4941
    @jeffrichardson4941 2 роки тому +1

    Great analysis. I believe Rory had some of that leg action too and he had some back issues too. Ping measured Wilco’s hand action as the fastest they every measured which ties into what u were staying about this release action. I’m excited to watch this kid and see what he does as well.

    Steve, love watching your videos. I'm 57 and love to bomb the driver. I buy and try lots of drivers! I just got the Cobra LTDx-LS with Hzrdus RTX 6.5 shaft. This setup is 15 yards farther then any other driver I have. On default setting on SkyTrak, my best is 324 carry and 352 total yards. My best is 184mph ball speed and 126mph CS, so far. I am trying to change my over the top swing I had for years, to hitting up on the ball from more straight or slightly inside. I have a 9* head set to 8* and launching it at 16* to 19* degrees, so I must be hitting up 4-6*. I am getting 1,800 to 2,400 back spin, with the LTDx-LS. I will try to start posting some videos on my channel soon. Will be trying an LD shaft to see if I can get to 190 ball speed.

    Can you get me from a 240-250 yard average up to 300 yards mate? I'm really struggling to increase my distance, and keep it straight. Been playing two years and only just managing not to slice my driver each time now, but cant seem to consistently hit it any further. I'm also 48 years old, not a spring chicken anymore haha. Club speed is 105-110 average with driver. Out of about 700 drives on trackman i've managed to hit it just over 300 yards twice.

    6ft 2in 175lbs is super thin! The key to speed seems to be height, long arms, a decent swing, speed, youth, and in my opinion the right custom clubs to maximize the spin rate, launch angle, etc... the game is set up for the taller longer players to win

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  3 роки тому +1

  • @kasparmarcusson7993
    @kasparmarcusson7993 3 роки тому +1

    Great video! However I disagree with one part and I thought I'd point it out: about his right foot balance. If you take a look at some of the biggest hitters in the world, for example Kyle Berkshire, at impact, his left foot isn't even touching the ground, meaning he has no weight on said foot. But then again he has great balance while not swinging out of his shoes and then sticks his finish for as long as he wants. My opinion ;)

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  3 роки тому

      Hi Kaspar! Great comment. He has approximately double his bodyweight pushing into the ground with his left foot in the slot, then the resistance is greater than that coming into the ball, making him get airborne.

    Here's a revelatory newsflash! There are many different ways to play golf well at the highest level! Look at the careers of Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, Payne Stewart, Corey Pavin, Calvin Peete and Abraham Ancer just to mention a few. Hitting the ball 350 yards through the air does not mean you have an overwhelming advantage of a player who hits it 280. Its down to the short pitches and wedges and putting game where tournaments are won and lost. If I was the Pga Tour Commisionor I would make everyone tee off with persimmon drivers, no lines on the ball allowed and when you are on the green you can only mark and clean and replace your ball once!

    • @davidv3599
      @davidv3599 3 роки тому

      Your ""newsflash" isn't backed up by data. The closer to the hole you are off the tee, the better you will score over time, that is backed by numerous data. Is it easier to shoot a better score off the forward tees or the back tees, why do you think that is? Driving it 350 is a HUGE advantage over driving it 280, are you kidding me? Please do some research before commenting your opinion that isn't backed up by reality.

    The sad thing about this is that golf is just becoming the non-automobile equivalent of NASCAR. All anyone cares about is how long can he drive the ball. It's making golf boring. I personally know a guy who routinely drives the ball 330-340 and he's not even a scratch player (he's a 2 handicap). But, long driving is dumbing down golf and making it a ham-handed display of one single aspect. Big deal. Ironically, what may save golf is SHORTENING courses. Once you take away the trick of the "1-trick pony", it's a level playing field.

      There is a sport like that. Its called putt-putt where I come from. How do you stop long hitters hitting from hitting high lofted irons from further out to still have the advantage of ball control? Top golfers have been working out in gyms for many years to gain advantage. To complain about it is stupid.

People always hate on Bryson because he doesn't look the way they want him too, yet he's smashing speed records for a tour player and ranked high in every category of the game of golf. He is higher ranked statistcally than most of the golfers everyone loves, yet they say he is a worse player......these takes are hot hot garbage.
