「愛の真珠」Op.84は、もちろんすばらしい。 これは昔、唐沢コンサートで初めて聞き、気に入った曲です。 これもポルカ主部Ａの3小節目がⅡの和音で、へ短調コードになっています。 ポルカ主部Ｂの11〜12小節も同じパターンです。 ポルカBのメロディー進行が何かに似ているとしばらく思案してしまいました。 まもなくヨーゼフのポルカ・マズルカ「故郷にて」Op.231のポルカBに類似するんだということが判明しました。 Op.84は1872年で、ヨーゼフの方は1867年です。 1867年はヨハンがパリ、ロンドンに行き、ヨーゼフも療養していてエドワルトがオケを任されますね。 ヨーゼフが帰ってきた時この曲を演奏したようですが、エドワルトもその時伴にしているので、どこかに響きが残っていたのではと推測します。

"Pearl of Love" op.84 is, of course, wonderful. I heard this for the first time at a Karasawa concert (The Tokyo Johann Strauss Ensemble) a long time ago and liked it. There is the II-chord in the 3rd measure of the Polka main part A, making it a minor chord (F minor). The 11th and 12th measures of the Polka main part B follow the same pattern. I thought for a while that the melody progression of the Polka B resembled something; It soon became clear that the answer is the Polka B of Josef's Polka Mazurka "At Home" op.231. Eduard’s op.84 was written in 1872 and Joseph's was in 1867. In the year 1867 Johann went to Paris and London, Josef was recuperating, and Eduard was entrusted with the orchestra. It seems that Josef played this piece when he came back, and Eduard was also accompanying him at that time, so I guess that the reverberation remained in Eduard’s head. (2013)
