Beckett knew she was wrong to have manipulated her expenses and yet morally would not admit to it. Her supercilious sick smile throughout the entire programme really boiled my blood. She is a criminal and should've been arrested and sent to prison like any benefit fraud. How is she any different from any other person who commits fraud? She isn't. Its really as simple as that.

    Beckett is manipulating the rules.
She appears to be one of these dreadful "champagne socialists".
Poor Ming, on the defensive for most of the program.
He did pay the £1500 back.
I agree with the member of the audience that suggested an MP is given an London apartment until the cease being one.

If these politicians don't like the level of pay then don't stand for election.

Of course it doesn't take a genius to figure out that perhaps the more corrupt MPs didn't vote for the pay increase, because they knew they could make a hell of a lot more money on the current expenses system.

The three MPs are admitting their guilt but they use a form of words that 'excuses' them.

To be fair two of them, I don’t think Theresa may dabbled in expenses at all.

The only mistake Beckett and all the other mps made was getting court

At 5.26 into this clip.... I'm sure that guy was making a very good, valid point...but I was visually too distracted to listen to what he was saying!! ;-)

Margaret Beckett kind of reminds me of one of Jeff Dunham's dummies.

A lot of these people are quite overweight. I don't live in Britain. Is this becoming normal? I've never heard of obesity in Britain.

IDK, maybe I'm being too harsh. I think the ones who stole thousands knowingly should be sacked. But seeing people shaking on the verge of tears because someone nicked a few hundred here or there for ambiguous reasons makes me think "get a fucking life"

There are 3 progressive levels of true understanding of a skill/action. 1st: To be able to describe it (here, say what is the right thing to do vs wrong). 2nd: To be able to practice it w/guidance (in this case do the right thing, but w/oversight). 3rd is to be able to do it independently,w/o oversight (i.e., to have personal honor, not be corrupted). We expect at least the majority of our govt leaders to be at #3. In these & similar interviews, some don’t even pass #1 & others don’t pass #2.
