  • I have walked through this junkyard a few times here on the channel, but in this video I am looking for my next project. Last week, you saw the 1952 Oldsmobile that we rescued from this same junkyard, so today we are looking for another car to save! There were only a few here that were complete enough to be saved, so we will need to be smart about what we save, and what we leave behind!
    Thanks for watching!

I like the 50 Chevy fast back, looks complete from what we can see and easy to work on.

I still think you can get your 52 Oldsmobile running I think you gave up to fast if you did a compression check then put some oil in the cylinder and check it again I bet you could get enough compression for it to run and when it runs your putting heat in the engine and if you keep doing that it could loosen up stuck rings so that it will run on its own your buddy Mortske does it all the time with great results….just a thought

Ryan, bless you for taking care of the animals. They all need our help in the dead of winter. Just a couple thoughts on old cars, regardless of what you pick, it's hard to get anything easier to work on than an old Flathead six with a three-speed stick behind it. Especially if you are an inexperienced mechanic looking to become more experienced. Loved the crunchy ground during your walk around in the junkyard. If only some of those old cars could speak up and tell their stories just one last time. Can you imagine?

Ryan I just want to say thankyou for your videos, I don't comment that often but I watch all the time, love them, especially stuff like this, looks like those cars have been there untouched for the best part of 50 years.

Looks like there's not much left. I did notice there are several 52-53 fords, one with a complete engine. Might be enough to put together a run-able car, but I know your not into fords. Have a Merry Christmas and go warm up! Thanks for the videos.

Amazing all 1950's cars. Some have trees growing inside the cars. I wished they were all fixed up like new again. Sad to see them falling apart. Love the snow scene. I saw 1956 Oldsmobile, 1960 Ford I liked in there. (

Thank you! There is something peaceful about old junkyards and cemetaries. Loved hearing your boots crunching thru the snow, just like home! That ford truck, the pontiac torpedo, the 50 buick, the kaiser, just wow.... any one of them, and more! Merry Christmas, young man!!!

What a great yard that is. Being from near Cedar Rapids, I remember those cold December days. When I was young like you, I didn’t mind traipsing around on a cold sunny day. Now I’m in the desert of New Mexico where the winters are mild and I’m no longer doing rust repairs. Dad and my brothers all liked pheasant and rabbit hunting; this is more like my type of a hunt! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. Hopefully we can meet in person one of these summers when I come up to visit my family.

Merry Christmas to you and yours also. I've learned through the years the best cars to redo are of course cars that have a high demand and cars that are not too far gone. I have restored many and I always seem to get the ones that need more than they are worth! Take care and have a good new year as well.

I missed this episode 2 weeks ago. Must have been the earthquakes and severe weather. 😂

GREAT video! First off, I agree that all of the cars look a bit far gone for a "will it run" project BUT I have a great (and space saving) idea. (1) You should remove the OHV Caddy engine along with its trans at

They're all pretty cool. Anyone of them would be great to rebuild, or better yet just to get them running. Id say use your judgement, pick out the least "far gone" one and go with it! Plus, pick out one you would really have a passion to see driving again.

5;00 the mid 50s Desoto, even if it's missing parts (heck, they all are missing parts) would be a good one, or the 58 Olds right before it... they both deserve a rescue.. great vid, i was able to id most of them to my wife... she was impressed !

That 1st series "Panel" would be something worth saving, IMHO.
