Jesus...some of the comments here. How ignorant can people actually get. It’s 2020, things aren’t going to be the same or turn-based anymore. It’s a Remake, not a remaster. They have full creative license to reimagine the entire game from the ground up the way they want to. And it’s bloody epic and stunning the whole way through, an amazing game. Everyone will always have the original, it’s always there. So if the Remake isn’t up your standards, the Original is always there. As for the rest of us, the Remake is amazing. And the combat is the perfect evolution of turn-based combat, if you actually played it, you’d grasp it and understand that.

Why wasn't Reno this powerful in Advent Children? I know he was just the comic relief of the movie, but come on he could have beaten Loz and Yazoo easily
Am I the only one who finds the face he makes at 0:46 terrifying? Also that "GOTCHA NOW!!!" jumpscare during the helicopter scene...Remake Reno is a perfect combination of funny and scary.
He doesn't have those fighting abilities/powers because after the whole lifestream stopping meteor and all that their infrastructure was messed up and nobody was going to go back to draining the planet to make materia. No materia means no super cool abilities. It's only because Cloud had some stockpiled in a case after defeating Sephiroth that the bad guys were able to steal them and use them to give themselves badass fighting powers. So Reno could only use his normal human fighting abilities and explosives in the movie.
the sarcastic way reno says his "SOLDIER boy...."-line makes the audience assume he indeed does know about the fact that cloud was nothing but the catatonic backpack of the 1st class-target that the turks lost in the midgar desert just a few ingame-weeks ago. this game-lore definitely has it's plot holes, but after all it is a masterpiece ❤️
"Bodyguard work's not too different from merc stuff right?" "Huh?" "Uh... I guessed! From the sword!" This exchange makes it so obvious that Aerith has already lived out the first timeline of FF7 in the Remake.
this is definitely meant to confuse people. the thing is, she might just know because hes so similar to zack. if you play canonically, cloud uses only the buster sword (check the prerendered cutscenes towards the end) and aerith would almost definitely connect him to zack
Seriously this shit made me quit the game. and Ive beaten all the souls games like 10 times each. This is the most BS boss fight of any game I've played.
Reno is a lot like Fifteen from Katana ZERO. Both wear a suit, have a long ponytail, fight with melee weapons, and can move from one place to another in the blink of an eye.
Is no one gonna talk about how Reno is right? That cloud is bullshitting him for being in 1st class? He’s rights that cloud was never in first class he might not know that cloud was never soldier
Am I the only one who likes both this version AND the movie version of him? In the movie it feels like he relaxed his personality after all that happened. Though maybe they should have given him better fighting skills in the movie lol.
This Reno feels like a mix of both. And to be honest the whole game has a mix of the original 97 OC essence with a lot of Advent's Children influence. Probably what Tetsuya wanted.
I love them both too! I remember loving Reno and Rude in the movie and they were my favourite characters. When playing this version of him I also really enjoyed it, they did really well with his character
Yunel I got around to watching ACC a few weeks ago and honestly, I’m on the same boat as you. I completely understand why some fans are really iffy about the film, especially with how the characters are handled. But, yeah. I like both versions of Reno. Here (and probably in the original game. Never played it.), I get a threat from him and he’s suppose to be second in command of the Turks? I personally like the badass, lowkey commanding vibe from Reno in the remake. He’s even more fun and enjoyable to watch. ❤️
Me fighting Reno: "Hah! Don't think I forgot. I played the original, I know your weakness is FIRE!" *uses Fire* *doesn't work* Me: *surprised Pikachu face*
I've noticed Cloud's more cold-hearted than previous iterations of him. In KH, he is an edgy little joke. Here, he has nearly decapitated Reno and Rude, and both times he was stopped by someone else. The guy didn't even look back.
@@MariusBoss11458 His sword was used to save the world. (Though it really is extremely sad. Seeing the buster sword in AC breaks my heart, every time.)
So no one's gonna comment how Reno pointed out he's also Aerith's bodyguard and called her princess? XD Tbh he's pretty different from the movie (looks, skills and character) but I love him in both the Remake and Advent Children
I just wanna say, this is my fav boss fight, simply cause it's so funny. Like the whole time he's like "Oh soldier first class eh? REALLY NOW?" as I counter every single one of his moves. It's really unfortunate that all of his melee attacks are counterable because once I found that out I had my whole mr. Incredible "It's show time" moment and proceeded to beat the shit out of him.
You know Reno reminds me a lot of Spike Spiegel of cowboy bebop. They just talk really calm and with a sense of playfulness and nothing about their personalities hints at the fact that they are these supremely dangerous killers.

@Cardboard Calamity by 'date' she means a 'good night' right?
@@ThePresentation010 Aerith is too pure for that kinda shit.
There is actually more to this. Have you completed the game ?
prolly same reason for Tifa she knew Cloud was a "Cloud" yet she decided to not ask him.
I won't lie, this fight had me so hyped! I've waited so long for one of these, my first mano y mano encounter with ANY final fantasy boss character outside of the Kingdom Hearts genre that I started up over 15 years ago (Yes this was my first ff game). A bad-ah who straight up challenged our main protagonist, everything was just so perfect. The timing, the music, the cutscenes! I would've wanted to play it again if it hadn't been what I think was my first death in the game.
Even after dying I was given the surprise of the game over theme I've heard somewhere online before, but had no idea what game it was from!
If you didn't know, Reno's voice actor is Quinton Flynn, the voice of Axel!
There's literally like....1 comment about the game not being turn based.
Speak Louder There’s actually two comments about the game itself, not just the turn-based one. Don’t try to downplay it.
GOD I wish I was able to like your comment more than one time.
There's still only 1 from Yuhin X and that's it.
Maybe they fight turn-based in real life as well. 🤣🤣🤣
damn reno’s voice sounds so good
Guess Axel decided to take a break from Kingdom Hearts.
This is axel, but changed hairstyle, weapon, evil version, and cockiness
@@noyoucantnoicantnowecantsostop not really evil, more just doing his job.
@@Tilearian but his job issssssssssss. So, obviouslyyyyyyyyyyyy

He is not evil, he's just doing his job, anything that isn't recorded by his job, he becomes a different person, and once the Turks are gone for Advent Children, he is a different person. He has no grudge against Cloud, even helps him, even helps him more than once in the original game.
Other way around; Axel was based on Reno.
Final fantasy has finally mastered the dynamic dramatic intro style from Yakuza games 😍
I'm glad Reno wasn't like his AC counterpart, I loved him in that movie, but he's wayyyy better in this game, he's one of my favorite characters. I'm a little gay for him ngl
5:44 I just realized that Cloud was actually going to Kill Reno. Didn't realize he was this cold hearted.
he did the same thing with johnny earlier in the game
Wasn't Johnny a friend of theirs as Children? I think I heard that somewhere, SOLIDER must really mess people up.
@@claudevalentine8657 (I know, this is old as hell) I'm not sure where you heard that, because they definitely make it clear that Cloud has zero clue who Johnny is, and Johnny doesn't recognise him either.
Cloud's entire childhood and even his friendship with Tifa during it kind of confuses me. Was he a friend of Tifa's during her childhood?
Reno's a piece of shit, though
Reno has no business being this hot.
after fighting the air buster and being underground where the reactor was for so long this colorful fight was so awesome to experience
This is probably my favorite boss so far, I haven't beaten the game yet.
I loved the turk battles
This boss is a major game killer. It's the boss that like 90% of people quit the game on. Every godamn final fantasy has one. Try playing FF8 you'll just cry and throw out the game.
Why wasn't Reno this powerful in Advent Children? I know he was just the comic relief of the movie, but come on he could have beaten Loz and Yazoo easily
Dark Wall he wasn't buffed in the remake, advent children just neutered his character along with everyone else's. movie was trash
"Hey Reno, you just stepped on them!" "They're all ruined!" "You're gonna catch holy hell!"
Am I the only one who finds the face he makes at 0:46 terrifying? Also that "GOTCHA NOW!!!" jumpscare during the helicopter scene...Remake Reno is a perfect combination of funny and scary.
Reno is such a good character, I hope he gets even better in Rebirth
I heard they"ll reduce his screen-time due to his Japanese va passing away. :(
How far will reno's shirt unbutton? XD
i am waiting for mods
Why didn't they do his real abilities in the movie it would've been so much interesting.
THE FREEZE HERE LOOKED GENUINELY SO COOL 5:07 then cloud's face in the next one made me laugh
Lol
the sarcastic way reno says his "SOLDIER boy...."-line makes the audience assume he indeed does know about the fact that cloud was nothing but the catatonic backpack of the 1st class-target that the turks lost in the midgar desert just a few ingame-weeks ago.
this game-lore definitely has it's plot holes, but after all it is a masterpiece ❤️
Reno is such a very funny villain and attractive too!
I do love how they integrate crisis core into this as well because of course SHE knows who owned the sword last
Where is this displayed?
not quite...

Tbh in the original he was my first defeat also when he pyramid my whole party, I only found out to break it by mistake
Same. The first foe whom teaches you that not all enemies in this game are mere punching bags.

"Bodyguard work's not too different from merc stuff right?"
"Huh?"
"Uh... I guessed! From the sword!"
This exchange makes it so obvious that Aerith has already lived out the first timeline of FF7 in the Remake.
this is definitely meant to confuse people. the thing is, she might just know because hes so similar to zack. if you play canonically, cloud uses only the buster sword (check the prerendered cutscenes towards the end) and aerith would almost definitely connect him to zack
"Oh your enjoying the game? Here have this boss fight more difficult than any other boss in any game you've ever played before."

Seriously this shit made me quit the game. and Ive beaten all the souls games like 10 times each. This is the most BS boss fight of any game I've played.

Reno reminds me of Quicksilver and I’m not complaining.
Reno is a lot like Fifteen from Katana ZERO. Both wear a suit, have a long ponytail, fight with melee weapons, and can move from one place to another in the blink of an eye.
What really happened during the ghost part:
"So because I destroyed the awful falafel I became lawfully awful?"
Yes. This right here. That's what happened.
Is no one gonna talk about how Reno is right? That cloud is bullshitting him for being in 1st class? He’s rights that cloud was never in first class he might not know that cloud was never soldier
Literally everyone is aware of this.
RIP the Japanese VA for Reno.
Believe it or not the guy voicing Reno voices Kazuma. Now I recognize that never ending sarcastic tone.
Yes! I can see how he is second in command here and I like his sass. I wish they brought a bit more sass in though.
And to think, this is the same guy who voiced Kazuma in the English version of Konosuba...
I doubt it’ll happen, but I’d love to see them make a reference in Part II. Where someone calls out to Reno and he says “that’s my name.” 😅
2:05 imagine walking into a 7 foot sword before you can react
I love his new VA.
He sounds cocky as fuck and that's honestly *perfect* for Reno.
Reno got me feeling some kind of way for redheads. He better stop...
Reno is a national treasure
Me fighting Reno:
"Hah! Don't think I forgot. I played the original, I know your weakness is FIRE!"
*uses Fire* *doesn't work*
Me:
*surprised Pikachu face*
Got it memorized ? Oh wait..
I've noticed Cloud's more cold-hearted than previous iterations of him. In KH, he is an edgy little joke. Here, he has nearly decapitated Reno and Rude, and both times he was stopped by someone else. The guy didn't even look back.
Reno looks handsome and cool-looking.
It's a shame we can't use him though.
Reno for Dissidia Final Fantasy Switch!
I seen a lot of remaster versions but this is one of the coolest ones yet
2:31 when your enemy is completely defenseless but you can't resist the urge to dramatically jump over him for style points.
Yeah that's what made his defeat lol
I feel bad for Angeal man. Look at what happened to his Sword
This maybe unimportant but reno's english VA is also Kazuma Satou's VA in Konosuba anime. No wonder why they sound similar
hope the sequels have more Reno
After binge-watching Konosuba in 2 days, I can't help but see Reno as Kazuma every time he opens his mouth.
I was looking forward to seeing Reno in remake. Man I wasn't disappointed!
I just wanna say, this is my fav boss fight, simply cause it's so funny.
Like the whole time he's like "Oh soldier first class eh? REALLY NOW?"
as I counter every single one of his moves. It's really unfortunate that all of his melee attacks are counterable because once I found that out I had my whole mr. Incredible "It's show time" moment and proceeded to beat the shit out of him.
They took away Axel's voice.
Also, rest in peace Fujiwara
5:06 That looked sooo sick
i was looking for this comment! looked awesome
I feel like Aerith was afraid of what chopping Reno in half would do to the timeline. She doesn’t really say anything positive about him.
You know Reno reminds me a lot of Spike Spiegel of cowboy bebop. They just talk really calm and with a sense of playfulness and nothing about their personalities hints at the fact that they are these supremely dangerous killers.
4:42 NO! THEYRE STEPPING ON THE FLOWERS! NO!
Bravo 👏 Excellent performance from the player. Very cinematic.
This is my favorite boss fight from the game so far. The music, dialogue, and game feel are just on point.
Reno, the most ICONIC antagonist XD
Reno in 7 looks badass
Reno in advent children : weak as hell
He did hold his ground against a *part* of sephiroth tho
Reno - the coolest character from this franchise aside from Sephiroth.
Aerith: Do you really have to fight near the flowers?
Me: Reno is being a cheap competitor toots 😑
Hey Romero, which girl is the hottest at your point of view? Aerith or Tifa?
Giovanni De Luca 🇮🇹 Well they’re very gorgeous dolls in the city of Midgar. But honestly, Yuffie is the most cutest babe who I really love the most 💯 in fact she’s coolest ninja too. I hope she into this Italian player 🇮🇹❤️🌹
