    I’m on sensor 2 plus and because it can only be fitted on the back of the arm, reduces the flex ability the Dexcom works better. I hate that libre only allow back of arm. Which means watching yours you have to keep the pod in the same place on each changed for 15 days which is ridiculous. Where as the Dexcom you can put pretty much anywhere you put the pod allowing better moving around sites on your body. Libre need to change their game
    I’m assuming the lumps are due to having the cannula placed pretty much in the same place for 15 days which is 5 pods for the duration life of the libre sensor. Absolutely no thought given by libre on this.

    Best of luck. T1D for 59+ years, on insulin pumps since 1985. I feel your pain. Keep meeting your challenges and never give up is all I can say. My labs are normal and A1C in mid 6’s.

    My Libre two plus hasn’t worked for three weeks it says searching for sensor constantly the g6 worked fine but the glue on the sticker tape was burning my skin

    Thanks for your info on the 5 ,just waiting for mine , I already have the omnipod since 2019 . One thing struck me when you’re filling your pod , you didn’t get out the bubbles inside the seringe !! I learned from the beginning it’s important to get all bubbles out before filling the pod , logic because as the pomp is passing the insulin it will pass the tiny bubbles as well therefore less insulin coming through . !!

      I did take the bubbles out - the video has just been shortened 😊

    Watch you don't get false compression lows from lying on the sensor.

      Yep, I’ve had this with the libre 2 as well. I don’t get them with the dexcom g6, but I wear that on my inner thigh so maybe that’s why

    The Law of Small Numbers proves itself right again! As well as the Libre Sensors notorious fake lows!

      Some sensors are indeed better than others in that regard. Having tried the Medtronic Simplara after using the Libre, I would recommend Medtronic.

    Hi T1D 45y now 59 years. Been using dash and freestyle. The thing I didn’t get told but found out for my self. If you put CGM on 1 to 2 days before it’s going to be used it works fine. If you put it on and start up the figures are completely out. I am moving over the Omnipod 5 next few days. Hopefully no issues. Good luck 🍀

    Hello, I’ve just watched your video as I’m considering requesting an Omnipod. Really good information! Thanks!
    Just food for thought- could the Libre Sensor be detecting lower blood sugar locally to the sensor due to insulin delivery very close to where the sensor measures glucose.

    • @MicroPharm
      @MicroPharm  День тому

      Sadly it has to be that close otherwise it will not connect - within 7.5cm is what they recommend 😊

    What was the dexcom 1? I'm on the g6 thinking about switching to Libre liked them much better. More consistent

    I can't tell you I like the g7 better at this point. It loses signal all the time.

    I'm looking at moving to the omnipod of ypso in coming months and you're situation is very like mine. My body sensitive to insulin, foods, stress, hormones means I'm constantly chasing highs and low bgs. However, I'm on the freestyle libre 2 and have found some really worrying long term inconsistencies with actual BG and frequently they're during stable times. I think I'll request to move to the dexicom.

    Thanks for sharing your experience with the OP5 and FL2+. I haven’t seen any other user experiences with this combo. I’m thinking of switching to the FL2+ but I might hold off after watching your vid.
    I have pretty consistent glucose readings with the G6 and I’ve init had to calibrate a few times since starting it in Dec ‘23. It’s a shame though as I was hoping to switch from the G6 and save money!
    They say the sensor and pod need to be on the same side of the body, but with the G6 I’m able to have them for example on my left inner thigh and right arm and they communicate just fine.
    Also try pinching around the infusion site when the cannula is being inserted and it may sting less

    Wow not many if any vids on the libre 2 plus and Omnipod 5. Thanks for making this. I'm getting my Omnipod 5 and Dexcom G6 in June.

      Thanks for the comment! I noticed there was nothing out there, so was really keen to put a video together to share my thoughts! Would love to know how you get on with the omnipod 5 and dexcom G6 😊

      They work pretty well together. That's what i'm currently using. It's pretty convenient for work in retail. But you do if you want a more accurate reading calibrate, it maybe once or twice. But i've been a little lazy and haven't done that in a couple of days.

    got a question - can you use the "official" libre app on a phone as well as have it connected to the pod / controller? or can you only view the libre data on the omnipod controller?

    Says not to have sensor so close to the pump hence the fake lows

    Hi, Thanks for sharing. I have onnipod 5 and waiting for the libre to be updated on my prescription…. but my question is… Did you need a new PDM? I dont have the option to choose the libre as a sensor on my PDM, Only the dexcom! Did the device update or is there something else?? Thanks!

    • @LaurenGreenTeaPlease
      @LaurenGreenTeaPlease 21 день тому

      I’ve come to this video as I have just received my prescription of FL2+ and needed some guidance on how to connect. I suspect you’re sorted now, as it was a little while you commented, but maybe this will reach someone else who is wondering the same question…
      You need to update your omnipod 5 through the PDM update, it will then show the FL2+ as a sensor option. Something to note, scanning the sensor needs to be done on the PDM. Don’t put the sensor on, scan it with phone and then expect it to work, as you will get an error message saying it has already been activated on another device so won’t work. Wasted a sensor, but a lesson learnt. 😊

    Thanks for an insight into Ominpod - Libre loop system. My daughter (5) is also T1D and we have a lot of incorrect readings from Libre 2 sensor. Thinking to switch to Dexcom g6. Good luck!

    Surely having the sensor so close to the pump isn't great. That's your problem I'm guessing. Having it on the same side of the body shouldn't be a problem with communication.

    • @MicroPharm
      @MicroPharm  4 місяці тому

      It’s actually advised to be close! If it’s on the other arm it will lose connection and you lose the closed loop functionality, I have tried! From omnipod team - “Place the Pod at least 3 inches (7.5cm) from your Sensor site”
