Ho ho we know this voice very well. Robin Whalley officially represents DXO? Good news. Now we can expect a bunch of quality material here... Subscribed!!
I'll look with interest to see if the left- or right-most filmstrip thumbnail you select is the one you get in this version. Since v3 it's been a lottery. You might get the one past it, that's not visible, or even the 2nd past it. Meaning that for routine operations YOU HAVE TO CHECK EVERY SINGLE SELECTION that you make from the ends of the visible film strip. So, I did a check. YEP, it still does it. Bravo DXO for the quality of your code not to mention your customer focus.
Why doesn't show PL7 subdirectiories of pictues? PureRaw3 for instance moves it's DNG Files into subfolders called DxO. But PL7 doesn't support to show them in their subdirectories. That's a design failure regarding DxO software universe.
Thanks for your comment. Can you specify on your problem, are you talking about working on files directly in PL7? You can also check here for help: support.dxo.com/hc/categories/360003943351
@@DxOLabs I believe @bertnase9933 would like to view all images within a folder (including subfolders). This is also one of the main issues I have with using Photolab's DAM features. If you have nested folders, you can't view your images without constantly clicking in and out of the folder structure. In your example, when saving files to a DxO subfolder, those images would now not be visible in the folder you were previously viewing, without now clicking into the DxO subfolder, which is inconvenient and hard to see an overview of your available images.
Thanks for your comment! The file system hast a lot of advantages as you don´t have to import images to work on them. What would work better for you or where does a library has advantages in your opinion? Best regards :)
@@DxOLabs I understand why you can not reorder images in the file system browser, but why not in a project (album)? Surely that is the entire point of a project over a disk folder, and it is an absolutely essential feature if you are trying to build a coherent narrative sequence of images (which is something that I do for all of my photography!).
Agree, it would be very useful to have manual sorting on albums. So you could order them and visualize how they would be displayed in a gallery, photo book, instagram feed, etc. etc. Seems widely useful and easy to implement - would be great!

Fix the selection error.
I'm not the only one experiencing it.@@DxOLabs
Well so can I edit the same photo differently in each virtual project then exporting all the edited photos?
Simple words to describe what is in the photo if you don't remember its name is essential like blue car or mountain...
Where are the edits saved for the images? Since there is no catalog is there a "sidecar" file that is created after editing?
You can select a specific folder for that! Best regards :)
See last chapter of the User Guide at least for PL7 : in Menus, preferences ... see Useful information. It details the PL database and sidecar files.
Photolab 7 is a light year behind Lightroom. Maybe I oversee something, but I can see any reason to upgrade from my current version 5.
Thanks for your comment. Which functions are you missing? best regards :)
@@DxOLabs Collections! Virtual copies.
All very well, but what if you have 10000s of images without keywording or geolocation?
Thanks for your comment! Do you know that you can mark every picture and sort them in groups? best regards :)

Why can't we move images around in the Photo Library instead of using the file system? This is still a badly missed feature that Light Room had.

@@tSoniq Thank you! As you are using folders you have your own "Alsumbs" on your computer which you can use. Best regards

How metadata is copied from one image to another!!
Where's auto AI keywording option?
