If you want to see some of what I’m up to in Italy, I’ve been posting a bunch of photos and drawings on instagram! instagram.com/peterdraws
Enjoying those 💯 I'm never getting over there, so glad you're letting us live vicariously thru your posts
No way peter u are in Florence, i have been Watching your videos for years now and im from Italy too. There are a lot of very inspiring things here 💪enjoy your staying 🙌
Your visuals are so satisfying to watch coming to life.
Safe travels Mr. Draws. We’ll be anxiously awaiting your return!
It's therapeutic watching you. Thanks for everything you do man... 🤘
That last drawing was very inspired! Best popcorn kernel abomination I’ve ever seen!
hope we get a lil peter italy vlog,, i know my study abroad over there was very impactful. hope ur trip is going well !
Hullo Peter, I have had problems with M Graham tubes sealing on me. I found running them under hot water and twisting at the same time can get them started sometimes I use a knife to pry up a little bit on the cap and that’ll get a little water in there to loosen things up. It’s so important to clean the threads on watercolor tubes because they will seal up, the nice thing is water does loosen them up! I am truly happy for you and wish you every good thing on your trip!
The first drawing is one of my favorites.
the old lighter trick....hold the paint tube over a flame for a few seconds, heat sometimes will soften the plastic of the lid and the neck of the tube. Sometimes it works.
I hope you’re having a wonderful time and remembered everything you needed to and realised everything you didn’t wasn’t important
Oh heeell yeah. I hope Italy is going wonderfully.
1. I love M. Graham watercolors. OIls too.
2. Best thing in Florence: Simone Martini's Annunciation, 1st painting 3rd floor, Uffizi.
3. In Venice, take the Vaporini first thing in the morning, 8am or so, whole city is empty, gorgeous.
What’s the Vaporini?
@@peter_draws I guess it is more often called the Vaporetto, the "bus" boat that takes you around to various stops.
Oh yeah I have seen that
sick squarespace doodle. hope you're having a good time in Italy!
I just love this...all of it..
Wow so blessed that you were able to schedule and be so on top of things for your trip! We still get content! 🫨🫰✨️
Peter you will be fine. Most people now understand English. But if not you will still be ok.Just relax and enjoy the experience ,it’s going to be amazing.Your work is growing and your exploring all sorts of new things now. This will be great for you.🥰
Have fun Peter!
I hope you're having fun while being safe! And hope you find really cool architecture/nature videos/pictures to share with us when you get back!
We spent five wonderful days in Firenze (Florence) a few years ago and loved every minute. The rich history, art, buildings, galleries, and especially seeing the statue of David up close was a breathtaking experience.
Being someone who appreciates art Peter, you will want to stay longer and make plans to return. Enjoy your trip.
Peter, snip the tail end of the tube off to open it and then seal it back up! No worries. Thanks for the art !
I was going to suggest that, too!!! 👌
I hope you had an awesome time in Italy! :) Enjoyed this video...and had a chuckle at the paint tube. I have a whole box of tubes like that. LOL! The watercolor ones, I poke a whole in and fill my pans, then put a piece of tape over the hole. Sometimes that works, sometimes not. anyway.... Have a great Month abroad!
Hope you are enjoying Italy, Peter. Greetings from Turin!
Hi Peter it’s been a while perhaps even a year since I watched your videos last but I decided to come back since I’ve gotten back into drawing, ps: have a great time in Italy 🇮🇹
Don't worry about the piano thing: Yes you will forget some, but you will be back to your old level REALLY quick. Most people who take a break even experience kinda a strong boost in learning for 1-2 weeks after they are back in form. Cause brains are weird
Just a great video and drawing!
every video brings me back to when i first found your channel at like 10 years old and tried to draw along with you, thank you for doing what you do :)
I hope your trip goes well. Love watching you draw it’s so relaxing. 😎
The leaning tower of Pisa is near Florence if you are interested. Enjoy!
I hope that your having a wonderful time in Italy Peter it's a lovely City.
I did not know any Italian except please and thankyou. Also, I am sure there there some pianos there, you might find one to play for a few minutes. I guess you could play a minuet, if you know one, that's short steps, not short pieces. Enjoy the classes and museum visits. Italy is awesome.
Peter, you go from strength to strength and I wish you well. ❤
I hope your travels are going well! The sketchbook images on Instagram look amazing. 😍
omg i recently got myself a little water colour travel kit!
Enjoy italy!!!
I hope you are having a good time.
Enjoy Italy Peter!
Hi. I have those paints and filled that pallet. Careful, MGrahm paints dont fully dry and always run and stick to the cover. I had to ruin alot of paint!
Haha yep this exact thing happened to me
I found a very old pallet I had 20 years ago and the Aurulian yellow was still tacky and gooey!
Came here to say the same thing. When you travel with M.Graham paints, wrap your palette in plastic wrap. If too hot they run all over the place. Worth the hassle, they are the best WC paints!
Hope it's warmer for you in Italy than England, we have the heating on, in June 😟
Yes it’s actually been very warm here, with only 1 or 2 cool days
Not at all! It’s no accident! 😁👍
please draw some things in italy and show us
I’ve been posting on instagram!
I’ve been really enjoying seeing your drawing change and expand in style and scope.
The pencil and watercolor washes seem to instantly change your scope and overall intent.
I’d love to see larger stretched canvases, buy the largest cheap canvases or if you like canvas boards 2x3 feet. Liquid acrylic diluted to produce washes with large brushes 4-6 inches.
Montana or Posca acrylic pens for your line detail.
White and diluted white acrylic in brush pens for highlights.
Could be interesting!
Maybe Matte Acrylic Soflat Neon 😮
Anyway, your video of you climbing into that construction rig out side, soooo goood.
I thought to myself what if his art went outside the confines of those small pieces of paper.
As always, you’re a brilliant artist!!
a match lit
Buon divertimento a Firenze
Oh, Peter… you’re using M Graham… that’s has honey in it, so it really doesn’t dry like other watercolors. You might have a sad thing happen in your travel palette while you’re traveling. I hope not!
You can just unfold the other end of that stuck tube to get to the paint. it might be a little fiddley, but you should be able to get in there.
Don’t worry, you’ll learn italian while you’re there. have so much fun! Be safe!
Haha yes some of it did melt and go everywhere, just like you guessed 🫠
@peter_draws Noooooooooo!! Oh I'm sorry, what a bummer! Don't worry, it's a commonly made mistake. I hope it's more of a manageable disaster and learning experience. There are probably some fancy art supply shops there, maybe you could splurge on another travel palette of a different brand? It wouldn't be the specific colors you want, though. Ugh! Well, best of luck, happy trails and have so much fun experiencing a new and exciting place!
Thank you! Yes I found another travel palette at an art store here, everything is fine! :)
@@peter_draws Whew! Glad to hear it. I'm excited to hear about your adventures!
