  • We own quite a few espresso machines and wanted to buy a model for our house. After experimenting with a few less expensive models and looking at models such as Breville's Cafe Espresso, we decided to purchase the Cafe Bellissimo from GE. This model is well built with all of the features of a semi-professional espresso machine. The wifi connectivity allows you to control the water flow and grind time for your espresso. The parts are solid and well built. It really does make the perfect espresso, latte, or cappuccino for your home or small office.

    Ignore the coffee snobs who always have negative comments 😋. This was very helpful for those who already bought this machine and need quick set up instructions. Thank you! 👍🏼

    I owned two coffee shops north Cali. Also was a coffee rep. I owned a breville w grinder. For my home. Sold it 2020, needed the money. Now I wanted a new one. Just ordered this one white 11/04/23 Monday delivery the 6th. I’m excited. Peetes coffee fan here

      I received it. Well packaged. The warm up and spray wand or a little off to me. The breville was much faster with the steaming. It pores the espresso well. Looks good in white. My kitchen is white themed. I like that. I’ll keep it. Not the best choice. The budget is what it is for me.

    The filter basket is not a blind filter for back flushing, but a pressurised basket for pre-grounded coffee.

    Just placed an order for this machine! Was looking for something more affordable, but as a "retired" barista I was really nervous that any at-home unit that costs less that $1000 would just end up being disappointing. My biggest pet-peeve is a flimsy portafilter so I gave a big sigh of relief when you mentioned how much weight this one has. Can't wait to give it a try!

    How is it holding up after 6 months? I really love the aesthetics but I’ve been reading a lot of bad reviews about the grinder and the buttons fading so I’m pretty hesitant now… would you buy this again or would you go for a breville barista pro instead? I’m stuck between these two at the moment.

    Purchased this same machine to match a GE Cafe refrigerator, countertop microwave dishwasher, induction range w. double oven and range hood in our new house. The ability to customize the grind time and water temp and warning for low water level via an app on iPhone or iPad is a plus. Performance-wise it comes up to temperature for pulling the expresso shots very quickly. Because it is a single boiler unit there is a slight delay in getting up to temp for steaming milk and the wand shoots out water before the steam so I use a second stainless pitcher catch the water before putting the wand in the pitcher with the milk. The steaming cycle is on a timer and the wand is designed to work well with the supplied pitcher but the volume of steam doesn’t seem to warm cold milk ideally and I wind up putting the completed latte into our Cafe microwave for 30 sec. to warm it up. The timer also works with the hot water cycle when adding it to the shot to make an Americano. The only negatives to report after two months of daily use are that the silk screened printing on the buttons has worn off and coffee winds up all over the place when grinding. There is also simply no way to grind enough coffee for a double shot without it spilling over the portafilter. Not sure if a dosing funnel will work with this machine but it might help solve that problem. Since I always do double shots I just adjusted the grind time for single shots via the app so I only need to press the button once not twice. I’ve had one jam of the grinder which was easy to fix. But care must be taken when removing the top of the grinder because the metal loop will come loose if to much pressure is applied.

    My struggle has been with attaching the portafilter into the group head at 45° angle… it’s proven to be a nonstop challenge, even if I line it up with the unlock picture to rotate right it will not rotate!!! Uggggh!!! when I can get it to attach (at random) I absolutely loooovvveee iiiit! Any tips or tricks??

    Having the water tank in the back of the unit can be troublesome if you have the device up against the kitchen wall.

    Hello, thank you for your review, i had the brevelle for about 8 years until it burned, the company changed 350 to fix it, for that i decided by a new one, first i got the Delonghi then the grinder didn’t work after a month, jumped to gaggia margenta the machine wasn’t really close to Breville, i came across this one and wonder how long that you have it and if any problems with it. Thank you

    Home-made all the way! I use a cheap $240 DeLonghi Dedica espresso machine paired with a $250 Kitchenaid burr grinder (a good grinder can make all the difference between a bad and good cup of coffee). For beans, I'm also cheap - I use Caribou or Starbucks beans. When making mochas, the only way to go is to use Hershey's SPECIAL DARK chocolate syrup. Milk is also important - using organic milk usually produces better frothed milk (better texture and the frothed milk has a natural sweet subtle taste). My mochas comes out PHENOMENAL everytime! I've been to fancy coffeehouses in rich neighborhoods and my mochas consistently taste better.

    Does anyone know if you can get a bottomless portafilter for this machine? Any experience with this machine vs Breville Express?

    • @jaredlinde590
      @jaredlinde590 2 роки тому +1

      I have not used this machine, but have used the express for about 2 years now. I will say that after watching this video the express has many more options to dial in your espresso. Also I'd say the express heats up in less than half the time and could be closer to a 2 minute heat up time. Hope this helps!

    I just purchased this machine I noticed that after used there is water on the button tray is that normal ??

    • @jaredlinde590
      @jaredlinde590 2 роки тому

      I assume you meant that there was water in the bottom tray. This is completely normal. Since the machine works under pressure it is important that it releases that pressure after brewing. The tray should be emptied when full.

    how does this compare to the Breville BES870XL ?

    • @wileysprocket
      @wileysprocket  2 роки тому

      I haven't used the Breville. All I can say is that this unit is pretty solid for a home espresso machine. We love it. I have several professional machines and this does nicely for a home unit. Don't, however, expect it to be perfect. For example, you can't steam and pull shots at the same time. You have to pull the shot, then turn the knob to steam. I believe this is so it doesn't overload the circuit. Accessories such as tamper and portifilter are also rock solid. For a 110v machine it does the job.

    What does it mean by “semi automatic” expresso machine?

    • @yuko997
      @yuko997 2 роки тому +2

      It means that it does basically half to work for you.
      A manual espresso machine requires you to grind the beans, fill up the portafilter, tamp, and does not automatically dispense enough water for a single or double shot of espresso. Some manual machines may or may not have a milk steamer attachment.
      A semi automatic espresso machine is exactly what you see in this video where it has a coffee grinder in the machine and a bunch of buttons programmed to give you exact amounts of coffee grinds and water. But you still have to be present to push the buttons and steam your milk.
      An automatic machine is exactly as it sounds. It does everything for you. If you've ever had a Kuerig, its a pretty good frame of reference of how an automatic machine works. In this case an automatic espresso machine would grind the beans, dispense the espresso,froth the milk,and dump it all in one cup for you! You can have a bit of control but basically the machine measures it all out for you.
      Hope this helped!

    Nice video. However the manufacture of this machines sells them for other companies, and they all have mostly the same parts. So this, Muller, GE Profile and more are all the same, and they all suck as they have a low 15 bar pump that is not powerful enough to do good consistent shots. My GE Profile version is going back as it takes about 70 seconds for 2 fluid oz at grind 7, or 36 seconds at grind 8. The machine should be able to push water through at any grind setting.

    That shot looks really bad. The speed and color of the shot told all the story. This machine is overpriced... The same machine is sold under so many brands with some slight cosmetics tweaks. The Amazon version was sold for $400.

    I’m not a snob, but this guy clearly never had done espresso in his life, he couldn’t even pronounce portafilter right. Guys here’s the basics
    1 - power the machine 10 minutes prior to use
    2 - set your ground around 6 or 9 (until you master tramping) then you can lower till you find your perfect taste
    3 - ALWAYS have a wet towel to clean the steam wand and subsequently clean the grouphead (else your coffee will taste worse as you mix old with new)
    Lastly when steaming milk, don’t do what the guy did, hold the pitcher at 45” angle and avoid that loud noise (lower steamer to warm milk, lift steamer to foam it)
    Happy Espresso machine = happy Barista!
    Empty that tray early too!

    So it's a breville barista knock off

    • @samesparza2149
      @samesparza2149 2 роки тому

      Not really. Breville barista is just another semi-auto espresso machine. There are hundreds of them out there. Which are just simpler and cheaper than a regular espresso machine or a fully manual machine. They have their place but Breville certainly didn't originate the idea of this type of machine.
