She is probably the only person in the world who can get all the remaining ketchup from an almost empty bottle
HHAHAHAHAHAAAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i loled
Jo this comment made my day forreal hahahaha
Also all those who have heard the tambourine mix for "Funky Drummer" have the deepest regrets for what could have been if Ketchup Lady had been there.
1:50 lmao I can see it now
So glad I paid attention to Prof. Stratton's lesson on the Holy Trinity of Tambourines
This was the moment!!
Same 😂
@@ThePermacultureStudent They told us to wait for it long ago.
ME TOO
I can't handle sandra crouch's raw tambo power

NO ONE CAN
Wouldnt surprise me one bit if that tambourine player would be in some kind of holy trinity of tambourine players
Jack may have assembled the tightest supergroup of all time
Randy Walsh if these guys went on tour I’d follow them to hell and back
So tight I had to lose 20 pounds...
Rest in peace dear Pastor Sandra ! You are missed 💔💔💔💔
Did the tambourine player die??
@@secularZoo Sadly the legendary world renowned gospel artist/songwriter and session percussionist Pastor Sandra E. Crouch passed away on the 17th of March this year.
Anthropologists: humans are slowing loosing their pinky's through evolution due to lack of use
Blake Mills: hold my volume knob
Is that a real thing ? lol
Dr0PPA ZETI To answer your question, I doubt it. Traits don’t just disappear due to disuse, that’s not how genetics works. I’m not an anthropologist (Biochemist who has studied evolutionary biology tho) but the whole “we’re not using it so it’s disappearing” thing implies an intentionality to evolution that isn’t there. I’m sure that if some kind of mutation were to arise that caused 1% of babies to be born sans pinkies that the trait wouldn’t be selected *out* per se (selection pressure for humanity as a whole has p much disappeared), but for humans to start “losing their pinkies” would require some kind of selection pressure that would render the lack of a pinky somehow advantageous to propagating one’s genes over the presence of a pinky. Also, I’m really not convinced that we’re somehow using our pinkies less than we were thousands of years ago. We’re still gripping things and holding them. Honestly with the advent of typing I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re using our pinkies MORE now than we were thousands of years ago.
@@Vashtanerada477 Interesting thank you!
Since we're all turned on by it, it may in fact be an evolutionary advantage to use your pinky when shredding
@@Vashtanerada477 this was basically Genetics 101 and really informative. Thank you, kind person!!
The camera never pans down because Blake Mills' feet would take up the entire shot!
Kevin Obergefell Music ouuuuw big ol case of hardcore vulfthrowback over hereeee!
It tilts down at about 2:42 and we can see his feet
For those who don't know yet, this is a Stevie Wonder cover, however, it sounds more like the version from another forgotten great 70s funk band called 'Stuff'.
If you like Vulf, you've got the check them out.
It is but its also a love letter to theo. The changes sound kinda like "brooklyn"
_i'm good at stuff_
_you're into Stuff_
Oh yes, saw them a few times. Cornell, Gadd, Richard Tee ...
@@koho explains Tee Time
tee time sounds very similar to Rick Tee's solos
Whoever mixed this absolutely killed it. 3 guitars, a bass, a tambourine, and a drummer, and yet you can hear each and every one of them. Absolutely phenomenal
read the description
It's more arrangement than mixing. No one is stepping on each other and all of the parts have their own frequency space. (Not saying the producer/mixer did not do an amazing job because they did)
"Sandra Crouch just shreds in a total league of her own"
Just heard of Ms. Crouch’s passing and came here to pay my respects by watching in awe one of the greatest tambourine performances ever recorded
I just stumbled across this channel today!
From what I gather, it's some sort of research program devoted to finding out whether it is physically possible for a piece of music to be simply too damn funky to exist? I wish you luck in your efforts and will continue to enjoy the by-products of your experiments. I would dearly love to be there as well, ready to dive head-first into the Funk Dimension when y'all finally succeed in grooving your way through the very fabric of reality.
The Thing at the End of the Book It’s almost the Funk Nirvana
You can study further research into this topic with Vulfpeck's It Get's Funkier series. They came to the conclusion that on at least 3 separate occasions, they were in fact able to somehow get funkier. Although the most recent attempt did require assistance from the percussive subject matter expert Louis Cole.
@@Rbrgr83yeah, I've given up trying to decide between Louis & Nate & just accepted the funk.
Blake Mills. A 31 year old legend. He’ll go down as one of the greats.
May I know any more of his songs? I can't find any with a tone similar to this song.
@@star_vars_ "if i'm unworthy" might suit you
So that’s what Uma Thurman felt in Pulp Fiction after a shot of adrenaline to the heart
Might be rolling stones "out of time' clearly she felt nothing.
wish more drummers would play on kits like that, cause it's not about what you got but what you do with it
Truly haunting
What a peculiar guitar. Strat body, tele neck and head, yoinked the middle pickup
That's a coodercaster. First assembled by Ry Cooder. Note the slide guitar pickups, the 3 position (telly) switch and the volume knob for both pickups at the pinky to emulate a volume pedal.
Edit: yes its a tellys neck; the table needs to be flat for the slide.
That lady is WILD on the tambo. Amazingly good. I mean everyone else is wild good too, but she's a special treat out of nowhere.
Yeah Sandra Crouch is one of the most prolific tambourine players of the 20th century
She has been on albums that have gone gold and platinum
Coach Jack making an appearance
gotta give em that halftime pep
.
"What - what is air? I know H20, that's water,"
"O2."
"O2."
Sandra is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs
1:30 - As Blake pull out super smooth lick and Nate can't help but smile! As a musician... That's what it's all about!!
Today we have been blessed by Sandra
Jacob Woodbury she’s such a queeeen
those 16th notes🙀 nate smith👀
he changed his name to Nate at birth from Sir 16thnoteroll
I'm automatically in a great mood
9/10 songs are produced composed and mixed by jack stratton this man is the puppet master, absolutely brilliant
Notified, clicked, enjoyed.
The Dude brought me here and I know these guys! Amazing name check!
Cory "the loosest wrist in the game" Wong on the fender stratocaster
Never thought 3 guitars would work this well
Netron it takes three talented guitarists
Berry Gordy knew. :)
Well one is a baritone do it’s a little different
a scratched up strat, a baritone and the mother of all partscasters. All about the fleshy lumps holding them
Man, how is no one ever talking about Mark's tone? It's gold! Mark's tone is why I'm planning on building a baritone for my first build :p
Blake Mills FTW!!
let’s freakin go!! more groove more happiness on this earth ! 😎
Dialed in.
Acquiesce a mojo up
I can never have enough Nate Smith. 🤙🏽
that kick and snare tone...
Favorite formation for the flyers. They fly perfect like this.
OH MY GOODNESS IT'S SANDRA CROUCH
I don't think it's been said.So you need to know. Sandra Crouch is the twin sister of possibly the greatest Gospel songwriter to ever live Andre Crouch. She learned how to play that tambourine in church. You have to have the love of Jesus in you to play like that.
To God be the Glory for the things he has done!
I'll accept THAT delivery!
I don't know who has more soul music and groove inside between Nate Smith and Sandra Crouch, but damn I feel it
Nate. Smith. On. The. Trad. Grip.
How can so few drums sound so much and so good? That drummer must have sold his soul!
I would say hours of practicing per day by a great musician.
Again with the god-tier tambourine players
Stevie Wunderbah
Damn !!! 1:45 Zoom In.
The percussionist and that drummer alone could play a whole set. Feels like 1969 without weed.
Damn, didn't know James Potter was so good at the guitar...
lol. those glasses. you're right.
James Potter or Christophe Lambert ?
They must have glued those sunglasses to Joe's head. I was waiting for them to go flying at any given moment
Blake mills on the LASER GUN
pew pew
Excellent tambourine
daryk44 queen
Blake Mills is a God. No one else comes close to what he's doing. Can't wait to see him again.
the rythmic precision of these people make me feel comfortable.
Holy shit, I need a smoke after this, and I haven't been smoking for 4 years. What a performance!
Now THIS is some seriously cold funk! Good to see Cory and Blake working together on the guitar
This sounds like what they’d play at the end of a play when everybody comes out and waves then they bow.
Nate Smith generates so much power with a snare, and a high hat that he could run a small country with it.
In these days of quarantine, I feel this theme represents all the dedicated food delivery drivers and postal workers keeping our nations going!
Was gonna play a game while listening to some fine tunes...ended up watching the musicians making the fine tunes!
The mixing is just beautiful
needs more big guitar
1:50 she's really feeling that tambourine
Vincent Koster that's what some good fat rythym can do to you
The purcussion is so right on...
Nate FUNKING Smith is a god, I have never seen someone fill a pocket this amazingly
stop showing joy at the end of your videos. that joy is for us.
This is too much raw talent
I never cease to be amazed by how much Nate does with such a minimal kit
I love it when musicians get the giggles at what they just did. Thanks for including that.
my ears and brain are so pleased. thank you
The lady on the right is a nurse who is there to help anyone who gets hurt, especially Sandra
Dude, Nate Smith is SO good to that snare, yet SO nasty to it too.
God, Mark's baritone at the start!
Magical Floating guitars in the end!
The tambourine is much more challenging and nuanced than one might think, especially in an arrangement that leaves the percussion nowhere to hide like this one. The angle of your wrist affects the decay and jangle in a way that can be ignored on a karaoke stage but will make or break an actual recording session, especially on Vulf where overdubbing requires an act of congress. And that's just one factor. Another big one is, the hand holding the tambourine has to be very careful about its movements, because a gentle adjustment can result in sound. It's like playing the drums while you have a maraca strapped to one hand. Or a tambourine, I guess.
Long-form version of, there's a reason Sandra Crouch is featured in the title of this video.
Slap that guitar. It's been bad
Joe Dart is indeed BAD...
that style of guitar - T-style neck with strat body is literally called a "mischiefmaker" 😂
Purushotham Kaushik Swaminathan it’s a coodercaster too. With a guyatone instead of a tiesco
There is some seriously badass percussion going on here
This is literally the best fucking music in the world.
PHENOMENAL! I love the tambourine player so mucho!
Currently on a Vulf binge
This is true musicianship! They are having fun and we can feel the groove!
Ole girl with the Tambo!! Yes!!
constantly blowing my mind.. and Ive listened to it 10+ times!
Drum sound just amazing as usual, and to play on that site like that...boy
RIP Sandra Crouch. 🙏🏾
This project never disappoints, pls never stop
Keep it up guys fantastic , the drummer deserves a mention here .
Blake, bro.. you're killing it. I can't say it enough... Best band around.
Blake mills with that saxophone!! I mean, guitar!! Aye! Those lines are tasty
"what is air"
Dylan Goldstein O2
why? did she say that? and what does that even mean
@@user-qx7tm5df8j it's more like random chatter caught after they stop playing but she definitely is asking what air is. Someone says water is H20 so I think she was asking how you'd express air in the same notation
@@damienbailey7375 oh ok. thanks for the explanation :) english isnt my first language and i wanted to understand it.
Great sauce on that tambourine, topped with a side of badass slide geetar
Now you know the tambourine can have soul too.
That change of pickup mid song was the greatest decision he could have made.
Holy Smokes......Sandra Crouch.......her Tamborine work is fabulous! Good gravy that's wonderful! I was raised with Andrae Crouch......so its funny when I said to myself.....you know, she's a really good Tamborine player and didn't realize until much later it was Sandra.........hahahahaha.....oh Lord.....
Fucking hell! Nate Smith is a BEAST on the drums!
WOOWW...Cory Wong....what a Grrrooove!!!
This fills me with glee!
A day with new pro-shot Blake Mills video is a good day.
Dropped everything I was doing and watched when I saw this came up
... I wasn't doing anything at all but if I was I still would have dropped it. DANG that's good stuff
those are the coolest guitar stands ever!
OMG there is cool music on YT. I love it!!!!
so many of my favorite musicians in one place, thank you for making and sharing this.
How couldn't I love this!?! WOW!!!!
WILD MAN!!!!
blake's right hand can do more than my entire body can
