This song is so underrated. When I first heard of it I thought it was gonna be just a lame sequel, Em trying to capitalize off his (arguably) best song. But as usual, I underestimated him. This song is so haunting, an incredibly well-executed continuation of a legendary song and story. The lyrics are haunting, clever and poetic, the beat is incredibly fitting, and the story subverts expectations and completes Stan in such a satisfying way. Fucking amazing. Never underestimate Marshall Mathers. Ever.
and it's missed by so many people also, i've seen reactions where people don't even put it together that the first few verses are from stan's little brother matthew's POV, at best they think it's just another crazy fan or something, just goes over a lot of peoples heads, and the line about the bronco's sucking was so awesome cause the album dropped after they fucking bombed it in the super bowl so it was relevant to real life shit haha. no matter how many times i listen to this song that last verse gives me the chills every fucking time, it's like the climax to the lord of the rings or something but in song form lol, never experienced anything like it in music before and it's a fucking rap song to make it more epic.
And Joe had the audacity to say Em has had no content or anything important to say in a decade. This song and Headlight on MMlp2 are beyond emotional. Joe better GTFOH. I wish us Em Stans all got together all over the world to rap all Em songs that have deep meaning and content on video then post them all to youtube and social media. Beyhive would have done that for Bey. We would be pushing people to listen to his amazing content and shutting them up forever.
I've been listenin to Em since I was 13, and had the same reaction when i heard it... The talent that Eminem has is just....i dunno man...its a gift from God.... There will never be another MC like Eminem... Even though alot of ppl consider him the G.O.A.T. i feel like its deeper than that...I feel like there arent even words to describe his ability to capture an audience by relativity... The day Em announces an official retirement is going to be a fucked up day for hip hop... You CANT top Eminem...You cant.... I feel like I'm rambling, but when you said "I'm startin' to think that he's immortal or somethin'" ...Cuzo, Ive been feelin' like that for years...
im right there with you. i first heard em when i was 9 years old. back in 1999. Im blessed to have "grown up" with him and listen to his life when he puts out music. hes truly the best to ever do it. this is what real music should be about. im pretty biased but i cant find any other artists that truly rap about their lives these days other than eminem. 99.9% of the music these days is garbage. i cant listen to it, i really cant. i think its because im spoiled with Em
Bro, em came out when I was a young teen. he was, and still is, a huge influence on my life. I jam to all of his tracks and given our upbringing was very similar, I relate to him on that deeper level, but everything you said is dead on and I'm dreading the day that we no longer get new tracks from em. Silver lining is if/when he does decide to "retire his jersey" we will have so much material from him that we could listen to his music and not hear the same track twice for a long time. see, we got all of His tracks from his albums and side project albums, the soundtrack from 8 mile, all of his colabs with other talented rappers, etc. Em put in work, man, and we got a rare gift from Eminem, the gift of not having to choose between quantity and quality. Em gave us both.
@@brandonb3311 real talk, rappers today neither rap about personal topics or about anything real. No emotion, no depth, just auto tuned mumble bs that is about money, drugs, cars and "bitches" (from what I've been told, I couldn't say tho because I can't understand a damn word any rapper on the radio says these days). We all have been spoiled, mostly by em and the rest of the GOATS from the mid to late 90s and early 00s. I think rap hit its pinnacle then and the reason rap sucks today is because it couldn't build any higher and the tower just collapsed down through hip hops foundation, into the dirty, 6 feet under. As of today hip hop, true hip hop is dead as far as main stream is concerned, but thank the hip hop gods that we have been blessed with some under ground rappers and hip hop legends who are pissed off and on a mission to resurrect hip hop and raise it back up to the mountain top, CAN I GET AN AMEN? Lol
Robert Trnka AMEN! Hahah. Well said man. Yeah, I just think the whole world forgets what music is supposed to be about. It’s a way for that person to express themselves. Painters express themselves by painting, artists express themselves by writing (music). Music is supposed to be an art form and a way to express yourself. It’s an outlet to express yourself. People forgot that and that’s why eminem has stuck with me since I was a child. He’s truly amazing at his craft. He told us his life story and that’s what I thought music was supposed to be about. Nowadays, it literally doesn’t matter what you say, as long as it has a good beat, you’re good. There’s literally no meaning behind any of the music these days and that’s what frustrates me the most! Granted, there are a few rappers that are still like that but the majority isn’t. Unfortunately, everyone these days don’t care about the real meaning of what music is supposed to be about. Another reason why I jam to all the “classics” in my car and not fuck with this dumb music that’s out these days
This is part 2 to Stan...with almost the entire first half as a double entendre. You can take it to mean he's talking about a relationship with a woman or take it as stans little brother Matthews pov. If you haven't already heard Stan then you'll miss the references to that track and you'll miss the reveal that he's talking about matthew. Stan: "Here's an autograph for your brother. I wrote it on a starter cap." Bad Guy: "...and heres your broncos hat ( bc they met in Denver in Stan)....you can have that shit back cuz they suck." This song was a surprise for fans. He kept this a secret and no-one realized it was part 2 until they heard the bars i posted above. He even thought about putting dido on the hook again but didn't bc he thought it woulda been a give away. And that last verse is a masterpiece. Also just fyi...when he says "I've been driving around town for like 9 frickin hours and 45 minutes now"....that length of time was actually the entire length of Ems discography at that time.
You're* I never said he didn't now did I? Lol. Calm down. It's just a UA-cam comment meant for anyone that comes along...not just for the uploader. Relax. Its not life and death.
“Chauvinist pig, drove in this big Lincoln town car” are lyrics from Eminem’s super old song called Desperados if you were wondering why he randomly said that out of no where :)
its not lol that's 585 minutes which is about 146 songs with an average of 4 minutes per song. The actual run time of his discography up until Relapse is just a little under 6 hours, including Infinite. If you wanna include his projects with D12, bonus features, disses and unofficially released tracks it might be pretty close to 9 hours and 45 minutes but I doubt there's much more behind the significance of that amount of time other than it just goes with the rhyme scheme. "DRIVing aROUND your SIDE of the TOWN for like NINE frickin' HOURS and forty FIVE minutes NOW". Its a multi-syllable rhyme scheme, that's about it.
@@slicknickdanephew7274 You are joking right? Nobody can't be this stupid... You are right from Infinite to Recovery it's 585 minutes and that equals too exactly 9 hours and 45 minutes ffs! 585 minutes divided by 60 minutes = 9,75 hours. 0,75 hours = 45 minutes (0,75=3/4, 3/4 of 60 is 45).
@@Bond91Swe its not 585 minutes tho, i said thats what it would be if it was actually 9 hours and 45 minutes but its not. i did the math and its around a little under 6 hours
Well that could mean that matthew was not able to get out of the car until he listened to all of his songs because he is addicted to em's songs damn that is some thinking
Fun fact: Eminem originally considered having Dido on this track, seeing as how it’s a direct sequel to stan, but later changed his mind to make the continuation more subtle.
The entire last half of that song truly shows Em's genius. Not only does he have insane, deep, well thought out bars, a great beat and the ability to flawlessly change tempo - more importantly he can change your whole mood in the SAME SONG. You can go from rocking to the beat to thinking deeply. It's going to be a long time before we ever see talent like this again. Especially with all of this Dr. Seuss mumble rap shit coming out today. I could really see the emotional change in your reaction. Thanks for keeping it real. I just discovered your channel but I've been binge-watching your reactions all day.
Castle and Arose together top it. I promise! It's a true story of him trying to make a living for his family, hating what fame did to his life (He has to make music or he would go crazy but he never wanted to be a Megastar. You don't see him living the "Hollywood life")and then his very really overdose in 2007. He tells the story very well and it is chilling. I know grown men who teared up. Btw Proof is his best friend, D12 founder, hype Man, guy who was always with him and he was murdered in 2006. It almost destroyed Em.
Castle and Arose weren't as creative because they were real life experiences still amazing but Stan and Bad Guy were creative made up concepts that worked even better than those 2 songs in my opinion. Both are amazing though
Castle/Arose took us from his desperate early days to the intense fame, drugs and loss that broke him, to the strength he found to recover, come back and reclaim this throne... all while making me Cry A Lot and giving a cool twist. I definitely would put those 2 (but really 1) songs against most songs he's made. Go listen again when ur in a chill mood. Well I guess it also depends on where u rate Mockingbird and When I'm Gone and Beautiful.
fucking thank u so much im glad someone else understands the absolute perfection of those songs. when i first heard him spin back the beat to castle again i was fucking losing it
Livia Kai ok, he made references on several of his songs. I'm the bad guy that makes fun of people that die is criminal after the original marshal mathers OP, track 18, criminal. It's better than you know.
What about "I've been driving around for about 9 hours and 45 minutes, which at the team was the length of Eminems discography.or the fact that it was a broncos hat specifically because the only place Eminem knew them from was a show on Denver
This is the best reaction to this song that I've seen! It's dope that you understood everything that was hapenning! The next song you should check out is 'Difficult'. It's about his best friend Proof who passed away. It was written the year after he died. It's his most emotional song ever.
Bro of all the em reaction videos yours is the most authentic and I sincerely appreciate that because any em fan can re-feel the emotions when they hear these lyrics and see your honest reaction. Thank you.
Hey man I love watching all of your videos even though I find this whole reaction thing strange, it's so great to go back 20 years and watch all of his songs through your eyes and experienced everything I love about him in a fresh way like this. There is so much emotion and the last couple of minutes of this song I don't even care what it's about I just feel it. And your reaction was exactly right. I saw him perform this back to back at Wembley a couple of years ago, I don't know any other artists that has this level of self awareness and is willing to tear himself to pieces in this level of self reflection. Bad guy remains the most incredible piece of emotional music I've ever heard from Eminem and I will blast this track on a running playlist every single time! Keep up the good work bro. This song cold wind blows I love it when Eminem goes hard man. These younger kids have no respect for somebody who has given everything to rap music, he's on his own planet my friend
He just keeps proving all the time that he is a genius, after all these years this is still one of my favorites and like you said.. pretty sure immortal! Love ur reaction videos btw keep em coming
The most unbelievable song of his last four albums. My goodness. King, your reaction in the last section is mine every time. It's incredible. So emotional. So real. So Em. He's just storytelling again, being honest about himself. WHAT AN OPENING to an album.
I think what I love about this song is that it disguises itself as another "Kim" or another serial killer song. And then when I leads up to the kidnapping part it pull the rug under you and reveals itself to be Stan 2. It's one of my favorites on The MMLP2.
your reaction was priceless, it's exactly what I felt first hearing to this, goddamn, it's ridiculous emotional like the struggle is in front of you real time
I've been watching a bunch of your eminem reactions. I was hoping you'd figure out it was a sequel, but I thought it was better that you already knew that before hand. I'm very impressed how quickly you realized it was Stans brother. You earned a lifetime fan. -MM
That last verse when Eminem’s talking about himself and you could feel how much emotion he was pouring into his pen and how real he was being with it, you could hear the pain in his voice! Gives me chills every time I hear it
Ktf you are my favorite reactor. You recognize the brilliance in Marshals songs, and your reactions are genuine of someone hearing a genius who has mastered the English language, let alone rap
Instant classic!!! Underrated now but just wait...who else can write bookends 14 years apart?! Only the GOAT! Love your reactions Preston! Peace KTF fam ✌🏼
King KTF, I could see how this song hit you, because you did give em a flawless victory right before you said you didn't give him one. That was amazing. I wasn't expecting it to end that way, it gave me goosebumps, it was like you could feel everything he feels.
Till this day, this is one of the greatest songs ever written!!! And the beat is just perfect and the whole flow is just amazing!!! That being said, song is underrated af!!! Such a shame.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐🐐
Damnn.... the last verse out of the leauge out of the damnn universe ....It literally set me on fire ... I was struck ..Speechless ..Hyped ...no word to express ...Juts like u KTF
I can't agree more that this is the BEST song written by Eminem! Which makes MMLP2 the best album of all time~ I don't think anything can top this seeing it with Stan which is somewhat 12 years apart! BTW, if you pay attention to the Stan video initially, the tombstone written "Stanley Mitchell", so the idea to come up with Matthew Mitchell is just amazing. One song you can check it out if haven't already is "My Darling", there was a lot of speculation when that album was dropped that there will be a Stan part 2, but Eminem affirmatively said "Stan is dead, there will be no Stan 2" however, as a hidden track, many would think how that song was written was like a “Stan 2" together with the other hidden track "Careful what you wish for", now, who would expect after two albums, there comes "Bad Guy" in MMLP2, unfortunately there wasn't a music video to it, I guess that is because Eminem has evolved so much, and to Bad Guy is a great song by itself, but only with the history of Stan makes it THE CLASSIC!
I went to see Eminem I 2014 Wembley London and he opened with this... I can't describe the feeling I got/ get when he changes up the beat..goosebumps throughout.
Bro! Thank, THANK YOU so much for letting that last part just run. Too many reactors pause that part and it really kills the mood Eminem is trying to set. In my opinion, its meant to just be heard all in one take to get the full effect. This is why you are one of my all-time favorite reactors. Keep up the good work.
Great track with an unreal ending, em goes off at the end of this about all the people he’s hurt or offended with his words. Em has humility and takes accountability in this song. Unreal artist
When, not ‘IF’, Eminem Goes into the rap Hall of Fame, he’ll walk through the Doors and see the last verse of this song, and The Yelawolf(Best-friend-verse) Already Hanging High on the walls!!!!. #GOAT
It’s a Stan sequel Stan’s little brother comes after Eminem years later after Stan’s death You probably already know this so I’m not gonna go into detail lol
Id have trouble naming a top 10 for Em, top 20 wouldnt be easy either. There are still a good number u have yet to react to for us yet. Theres more mimd blowers with straight bars & the sharpest daggers ever spit. He crushes spirits with genious lyrics & word play. Stay on this Em binge for sure
This is one of his best songs, very smart writing (and the story it tells created from the stan song). But it's also very epic and does something other rapper's don't: shows a lot of humility. And finally, it just sounds great.
Yessss mate.... Totally agree with you on that one
“Treat your bedroom window like I reached my full potential...I peaked” is easily one of my top 10 favorite Eminem lines.
" I'm the bullies you hate which you became "
Holy sh*t, only just now I understood that line. Freaking amazing.
His word play is insane, no one can match it. That’s what makes him so great
It annoyed me that he missed that
The best part about this is the look of pure amazement on your face the entire last verse 😂 because that was me my first listen of this song. Lmfao
Mine too. I did not know what I just heard for a few seconds I was so in awe.

Bro of all the em reaction videos yours is the most authentic and I sincerely appreciate that because any em fan can re-feel the emotions when they hear these lyrics and see your honest reaction. Thank you.
I can't stop listening to this song. Thank you so much for reacting to it !!!
I'm so glad you listened to the end without a pause respect you need to come back to these we miss you bruva
NEVER HEARD UNTIL TODAY WOW....JUST WOW
Samantha Ookami me too
why in the hell they never made a video clip for this song absolutely boggles my mind.
ikr?
This is pure art right there. Can't argue.
I love the way you react! You feel the music... The way it's meant.
your reaction was priceless, it's exactly what I felt first hearing to this, goddamn, it's ridiculous emotional like the struggle is in front of you real time
Classic KTF this is the reactions I miss, dude was the best reactor on UA-cam that’s real shit. Much love
That last verse, he was taliking to himself.
The realist reaction I have ever seen, love ur channel, keep it up👌👏👏👍👍👍
I've been watching a bunch of your eminem reactions.
I think I’ve reacted to your reaction of this 30 times already!!! Lol. Not online, just a beautifully genuine response to true artistry!
Damn....this was my favorite reaction. That last verse was the same reaction I had. Goosebumps
Thanks for the great breakdown. Most people don’t really get what this song means. Great reaction Preston!!
Every time EM comes out with a dope new track I'm like how can he top that. Somehow he ends up doing it though. Hes the 🐐
Subscribed cause u actually listen to the songs and follow the story unlike other reaction channels 👍
I love how Matthew creeping up on him the whole time then reveals himself to be Em’s guilty conscience eating him alive. Genius
I've been watching your reaction videos for several hours straight! I can't stop watching, I can tell you're passionate about music. Keep it up bro!!
Instant classic!!! Underrated now but just wait...who else can write bookends 14 years apart?! Only the GOAT! Love your reactions Preston! Peace KTF fam ✌🏼
The Setup of this is pure Genius to be a sequel ...very Underrated but also most do not listen to comprehend
I like that you listen to hear the story
My man almost shed a tear. I feel you bro
Murder murder by em. Hellbound by em
Murder Murder one of his best songs, so underrated because a lot of these new Em fans haven't heard SSEP
When you said hellbound that let me know you know your shit. Side note Royce da 59 is one the illest underrated rappers ever!
Thank you for this comment
King KTF, I could see how this song hit you, because you did give em a flawless victory right before you said you didn't give him one. That was amazing. I wasn't expecting it to end that way, it gave me goosebumps, it was like you could feel everything he feels.
Till this day, this is one of the greatest songs ever written!!! And the beat is just perfect and the whole flow is just amazing!!!
That being said, song is underrated af!!! Such a shame....
🔥🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐🐐
great reaction. to a solid track....last 2 minutes is straight fire!
Damnn.... the last verse out of the leauge out of the damnn universe ....It literally set me on fire ... I was struck ..Speechless ..Hyped ...no word to express ...Juts like u KTF
That last verse... Never fails to give me goosebumps
Oh yeah no apologies by em
I went to see Eminem I 2014 Wembley London and he opened with this...
I can't describe the feeling I got/ get when he changes up the beat..goosebumps throughout.
Actually this song is absolutely amazing .. like your videos bro
This is probably the only reaction video to this song were the person reacting actually understands what is being said 😂
Thank you for this reaction 🇮🇹🇮🇹❤
Out of all the reaction videos to this song, you're the ONLY ONE who caught on early it was his lil bro. Props.
Goosebumps 🔥🔥🔥
Yo, I love ur reaction video, your a true Eminem fan.
You surely understand his life bro
I love your channel, bro it always entertaining me.
Love it...the end bit gave me serious goosebumps...
MAAN your channel was the best one bro
The last part is just brilliant. By the way, love your reaction when the end hits you. Like 25 to life, you never see it coming.
OMFG!!! How didn’t I know about this? I think this is my favorite song of all time
Unbelievable ....pure masterpiece 💯🔥🔥🔥
Bro love your vids please keep them up
Nikki Feltman i appreciate you bro! I will.
Your reacts are priceless
Best reaction channel on YT!
The beat n that hook n that slow flow from Em is just perfect
Hahaha you figured out it was Stan’s brother pretty quick. Bad Guy is for sure one of the best songs he’s ever written.
Wicked ways,Phenomenal,dont front
Great track with an unreal ending, em goes off at the end of this about all the people he’s hurt or offended with his words. Em has humility and takes accountability in this song. Unreal artist
best bad buy reaction ive seen 🔥🔥
Keep it up bro, you're good at this
Love you ktf i fallow all of your videos
Fire!!! Eminem is easily in the top five rappers ever!!! If not the best
When, not ‘IF’, Eminem Goes into the rap Hall of Fame, he’ll walk through the Doors and see the last verse of this song, and The Yelawolf(Best-friend-verse) Already Hanging High on the walls!!!!. #GOAT
Bad meets Evil- Welcome to hell.
It's like a Stan part 2
Matthew Lucas that’s the point of the song
I know
Matthew Lucas no it's through Stans brothers point of view
It’s a Stan sequel
Stan’s little brother comes after Eminem years later after Stan’s death
You probably already know this so I’m not gonna go into detail lol
Aoghan Mc Connell Thanks Lol 😂
Id have trouble naming a top 10 for Em, top 20 wouldnt be easy either. There are still a good number u have yet to react to for us yet. Theres more mimd blowers with straight bars & the sharpest daggers ever spit. He crushes spirits with genious lyrics & word play. Stay on this Em binge for sure
The best song Eminem has written. It gives me chills and accelerates the blood pumping through my veins.
You know, I didn't comment to this either but this was fire!!!!! And I saw this a month ago. I did like lolz
the look of absolute and sheer AWE on Preston's face is everything
he looks like he in front of the presence of a higher being
This is one of his best songs, very smart writing (and the story it tells created from the stan song). But it's also very epic and does something other rapper's don't: shows a lot of humility. And finally, it just sounds great.
One of my favorite Em songs because of the end breakdown and the switch up! Blast it in the car! It’s INsANE!
Never heard this, thanks PRESSSton! ✌👏👏
