    I just bought this.. yesterday….. I really do like the clip system.. it’s incredible… I bought the wall mount strips too.. and extra clips to hang off a tool bucket and by the side door and back door on my van.. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out in the real world

    I have this (Master Electrician/Handyman) with suspenders and it works great. I hang the suspenders over the seat for travel.

    The rails are great. I have used the clips by themselves as well. Mounted one one a scissor lift, placed a big magnet on one so I can just put it on steel, even mounted a few on my tool cart. Best system out there!

    DIY'er here, mounted clips on a shelf post and just hang the loaded pouches and belt off it. Takes up very little room, is at eye height, and all the tools are accessible when in the shed.

    What I loved about the toughbuilt clip tech was when it was break/lunch time, I could take the pouch/holster off and be able to enjoy my time without being weighed down or have tools falling out. I no longer work that summer(s) job and keep putting off getting myself a set for some stupid reason.

      💯 and if I am doing some work in a certain area for any given amount of time I will unclip and use the pouch kickstands to setup the pouches.

    I thought I invented this system and was telling a co-worker today about my idea and he said they already have it so, after a little searching, I found this video and yup, not exactly my system but pretty close. I just bought the 4pc contractor set on Amazon. oops, sorry, I didn't use your link. :(

    I have always being intrigued by the job of eletricians, plumbers and even mechanics. I have the money and the time (thanks to Covid-19) to take a course in either of these fields. But as a Union member making $40/hr and having a very comfortable job and being able to retire at 55 with a hefty pension it doesn't make sense for me to spend 2 years in trade school when I have only 5 years left to retire. I love watching your videos man, I love doing my own home renovations and other stuff that I have learnt to do for myself and save money $$$ at the same time.

    The totes are great too. You can add those pouches and make a pretty comprehensive pack-in setup. I have some issues with the toolboxes that you can wheel around though. I think they are a little restrictive in the pocket department and they aren't as customizable as something like their tote. They have rails you can clip onto on the front but, unlike the tote, you can't clip another pouch to each side. It almost makes it seem like a bigger actual product than the tote, yet it has a smaller overall amount of storage than 2 of the 3 boxes they sell. The only one that has more storage than the setup I use is the XXL box which is giant but also 3x the price of the tote.
    One issue that causes the boxes to feel small is the fact that they need to displace space in the actual bottom of the boxes in order to make room for the giant wheels they have. Either that or they would have had to put the wheels on the outside and they would be in the way. It just reduces total useable space. Also, the boxes don't have the best outside pockets. The sides seem bare and since you can't put another pouch on the side like with the totes, they end up being just flat surfaces with a few wrenches in the bare-bones pockets and that's about it. If I look at my tote right now, the only wasted space is the side that rubs against my thigh as tote it around. Even that has small tools in pockets though. Meanwhile the XXL box even looks bare on the sides and offers little customization options outside of the 3 spaces you can clip pouches to in the front of the box. You can fit about 2 pouches on the XL model and 1.5 pouches on the L model. They make smaller pouches that would fit alongside a bigger one on the L model.
    If you combined the best of the totes with the best of the boxes, you'd have a pretty slick system. I think a good way to do that would be to make a dolly system that you can drop the tote into. That way you can sell it to everyone who already has the totes. I'd probably buy it if it was of good quality and wasn't too expensive.

    I have had this tool belt and suspenders/ multi bag system for a while now, 0 complaints. I have a small handyman business, and carry the specific tools I need in each bag. Electrical, plumbing, construction and even framing. When I get to a job, I’ll scope out what needs to be done then go to my truck. Don my belt, then grab whichever bags I need and clip them on. Saves me from hauling my Veto pro pack (when loaded, about 65 lbs) to and from. Plus I’m carrying the weight on my padded belt and leaves my hands free. I just got the large rolling bag, so I can bring my 18 volt tools to and from as well. Added bonus, I can clip a hub to the rolling bag and wheel everything in together…

    I know this is a litle dated, but I had a new guy point this video out as he was going to buy the kit with the belt who then suggested I comment on it. We bought several of these for workers, including myself, based on the concept, which is awesome. Unfortunately, we have had multiple buckle failures, 4 of 13 so far, especially outdoors in the cold. The buckles are nearly impossible to open with gloves on and even worse when they are cold. Can't get the clips to fit most belts, as most of the pro belts are a quarter inch wider. Finally found an old AWP belt I had that they fit on and the pouches are incredibly useful because of the ability to be quickly switched. The belt, however, is pretty worthless.

    • @EverydayHomeRepairs
      @EverydayHomeRepairs  2 роки тому

      Hey Jef, really great feedback and I have always thought the main belt bucket might give way with all the weight I normally load on the belt. Does the AWP belt also have the built in padding or just a standard belt?

    As a framer I'm rather skeptical. While I love the idea and concept, I have very little confidence in something that has plastic and the nylon would need to be thicker.. Framers put their belts through the paces . We crawl between studs, climb through roof framing and floors. If they up the construction to a tougher quality I wouldn't just consider them, I would buy them.

      I use these pouches everyday installing garage doors. They are perfect I can easily take them on and off depending on what I'm doing. It's so much better than wearing a full normal tool belt that you have to just have everything on all the time it's heavy and cumbersome and most of the time it get caught on everything especially for me doing garage doors sometimes I don't have alot of room to move around the door.

  • @dukefrywokker6470

    I would have liked to see more on the actual belt. For example, how does it clasp shut? Can you add additional clip systems to it? How many did it come with (I'm assuming 2 since it came with 2 pouches)? What sizes does the belt fit? Etc. Great job on the pouches, but you forgot about the actual belt, lol.

    • @EverydayHomeRepairs
      @EverydayHomeRepairs  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah the belt comes with the 2 "ClipTech Hubs" which are the plastic parts that clamp around the belt and receive the pouches. You can get a belt extension if needed for the right fit and although there is a lot of plastic overall the quality feels like it will stand up to some abuse. Thanks for the feedback 👍
