I was black in this game! Awesome to have gotten to play with you. I only recently really started playing after watching your videos for awhile. I remember failing to get turn one spain and purple was immediately too big, so i didn't want to mess with him. Found his cap and felt boxed in by him and Red so I just went in to cap stack pass mode for awhile waiting until a kill was on the table, and tried to make a play off of them. Ended up just feeding you the kills both times lol! At the end there i was just playing for second, and went for a quick cap run at the end there thinking that was the only way i could win from that position.

I figured why I enjoy your content so much, not only are you super good at risk and clearly interested in deep and interesting topics but you are yourself and never feel the need to constantly fill the silence and let the game or chat just play out. Keeping being you
Side bar, have I heard in past videos you have a degree in philosophy? Would be interesting to see videos on varies topics

      What specifically?
If you have a philosophical question you want me to get to on the show throw it up in the q and a thread on my discord and I'll get to it

@FreePete will do, I'm curious your thoughts on balancing a passionate life vs a more sustainable 9-5 work life balance

I like how you employ your philosophy/strategies as if they are the de facto truths. Never a doubt. Now you have the whole community in a “good/bad neighbor” paradigm (I hope I used all those words correctly 😅)

You can't possibly know how confident I am about anything I say so your comment comes off like someone who has never watched the show even though I know you've watched a lot. It seems like you misunderstand and overestimate my level of certainty in my analysis.

@ “comes off as”, it’s aura, how you came off this video, for one. But also, given how much we both know I watch n interact, I can be certain I’ve heard you saw many a time you’ve been an influence in the good neighbor meta. Ur response seems very defensive today. N not for nothing, you are pretty consistent in your strats n philosophy. I don’t see you experimenting in that way all too often (sure in settings n all that).

Hey Pete, Merry christmas 🎄 I’m trying to get better at the game so I wanted to ask you for some tips. When choosing a capital in fog of war, should I choose one that is visible for my opponents to avoid being cucuracha’d or should I choose one that isnt visible so that they don’t know where my capital is?

    • @FreePete

Hey Pete, Just curious what you will do in the situation below.
4-player Beginners Fixed Global Dom map.
    I am in EU
    pl2 in Africa
    pl3 in Australia
    pl4 South America
And the game doesn't progress at all. Africa and Aus trade cards are in Asia, and SA and I are trading in NA.
We got 300+ troops I was the leader but no one initiated anything.
I got bored and tried to slow the Aus player by hitting some of his troops; it didn't work.
tried to card block South America, but again didn't work he got mad instead of attacking Africa with me he just got angry and sui me, and I lost after him.
What should I do in this situation being the leader of troop income?
Thanks a lot great video btw.

    • @rockstermaniac
      @rockstermaniac 21 годину тому

If you're the troop leader try letting the SA player take NA and start trading in Asia instead. If the Australia player sees what's coming and tries to prevent it use your troop lead to bomb whatever he stacks in Kamchatka.
The Aus player can't effectively address you unless Africa teams with him (which you proved when you hit the AUS player's troops and he did nothing about it) and once the SA player has NA he effectively is playing like he had Asia... the Africa player can't allow that...
If everyone is smart the SA player stacks in Kamchatka and relinquishes SA to the Africa player and we move to the proper 4 player stalemate where the AUS player falls rapidly behind everyone else and everyone else gets big enough to each hit the Aus stack a tiny bit (or someone gets bored and either suicides AUS or gets suicided by AUS)
If the SA player isn't smart they now rapidly catch up and become the strongest player but (probably) doesn't hit you since you're the second strongest player, you traded with them, and you enabled them to become the NA player.
If the Africa player is too cautious to hit them oh well you relinquish your advantage but now there's 2 strong players instead of one so the AUS player/Africa player will die eventually now.
Either way the game progresses because you created a dynamic shift (your goal) through passivity rather than aggression putting a spotlight on the SA player instead of yourself and forcing the other 2 weak players to actually do something to avoid death.
Just be sure you leave a stack in either Scandinavia or Great Britain so if SA breaks you in Iceland you can immediately punish.
