I work for a White Glove services company that works pretty closely with the Apple Professional Services division of Apple. I remember having Apple instructors come onsite to explain this with diagrams and charts to help make the understanding easy. Now, I'm training an engineer who will be doing the same thing and unfortunately Apple does not offer the same instructors; your videos on APNs and MDMs are great resources to help onboard new provisioners and developers, so thank you greatly!
No. YOu can deploy in house apps without a developer account. If the ipa file is from an App Store, use Apple Business or Apple School manager managed distribution to deploy it.
