Troy actually gets retracked a lot, Toverland is really maintaining it well. The high praise it gets in the European community is due to the legendary status it has here. I don’t really know how to explain, but Troy is for many people what Phoenix or Legend are for some American enthusiast. It’s just that one legendary woodie everyone loves and appreciates. If you have the opportunity, you need to visit Toverland in October for their Halloween event, which is absolutely phenomenal (one of the bests in Europe by far). Ride Troy at night and I can guarantee that you’ll put it higher in your ranking. Really enjoyed this countdown video🙌
The Netherlands is such a based country for so many reasons. It has some great Themeparks and Rollercoaster and an amazing taste in music. Hardstyle is one epic music genre, super energetic and euphoric.
Python might actually be the most iconic non-disney coaster in Europe (at least in the Netherlands). If you ask 10 random people on the streets of the Netherlands to name a roller coaster, probably at least 9 out of them will say Python. It was the biggest coaster in Europe when it opened after all, and Efteling was basically a little family park back then, so it was very mindblowing back then, therefore it also got a lot of publicity. I'd be like if Gilroy Gardens added a B&M Hyper all of a sudden. That being said, it's not really the biggest nor the best coaster in Europe anymore ;)
I recommend returning to Efteling near May or something. The construction of Dance Macabre is on going (so when you are at Efteling you might see more of the structure where the attraction will be inside of) and De Vliegende Hollander gets a refurbishment in the scene before the lift hill making the encounter scene just better.
Here is my List. Haven't been to Slagharen and de vliegende Hollander is not included since I count that one to be more of a darkride. As on overall attraction it would probably make the top three 15. El Condor 14. Max und Moritz 13. Speed of Sound 12. Booster Bike 11. Xpress 10. Python 9. Vogel Rok 8. Lost Gravity 7. Dwervelwind 6. Joris en de Draak 5. Baron 1898 4. Troy 3. Fenix 2. Goliath 1. Untamed
Troy is actually my favourite, over Goliath and Untamed. I'm not sure if I can justify it. Untamed is probably better objectively, but the reality is Troy just puts a smile on my face every time I ride it, while Untamed hurts my stomach. But I agree Troy has been running rough this year.
I agree with Untamed as the winner. For me, Lost Gravity is on nr 2. And I really liked Max & Moritz in de Efteling. It’s a family coaster, so not crazy wild, but the theming and the soundtrack make it so enjoyable!
I live in the Netherlands and in so grateful for the efteling its 30 mins from the park i hope you go there again! If you go again go on piranihia its my favorite ride
Express 13 is underrated. Troy was bumpy in 2023. Goliath is great fun. Just fun. Untamed is in a league of its own. Nrs. 15, 24, 13, 12, 11, 10, 4, 3, 2, 1 I have ridden.
Great list, I had the pleasure of riding Untamed and lost gravity this year for the first time, they really are a great expansion to Walibi. Next thing they should do is break down El Condor and build a decent new coaster there too. What did you think of the que from metro 13? it's the first real themed que Walibi did and it's a thing we see more often now in the Netherlands.
I live in the Netherlands so when you return to the Netherlands we can meet together. And i've visited these amusement parks. Hellendoorn. Slagharen. Duinrell. Efteling. Toverland and Movie Park Germany. And this year i will visit Hansa park Legoland Denmark liseberg(maybe) and Thorpe park.
My top 15 (note that I haven't ridden Formule X, Gold Rush and Vogel Rok) 15. Speed of Sound 14. Bob (now defunct) 13. Booster Bike 12. Falcon 11. Xpress: Platform 13 10. Python 9. Dwervelwind 8. Vliegende Hollander 7. Joris en de Draak 6. Baron 1898 5. Lost Gravity 4. Goliath 3. Troy 2. Fēnix 1. Untamed
This is my top 10, it’s slightly different (and I haven’t done Gold rush yet): 1. untamed 2. Fenix 3. Lost Gravity 4. Troy 5. Goliath 6 Baron 1889 7. Joris en de draak 8. Vogel rok 9. Dwervelwind 10. Python
As a dutchy i went on a school trip to toverland once and i was walking with my best friend and i asked if he wanted in the booster bikes with me replied saying he is scared of coasters i said if he could try so he did and erm at the end of the day i went in the booster bikes 10 times
The Netherlands-Belgium-North-rhine-westphalia area is so fucking stacked with great parks its insane. Imagine living in the middle of these three you can access ~10 parks within 1-3h
I live within 103miles / 166km from Phantasialand, Walibi Holland and Belgium, Toverland, Efteling, movie park Germany and Bobbejaanland. That's pretty nuts.
@@nazczescie Well those are still prety decent parks to have as youre home parks. But i agree i do live almost in the middle. I used to think that plopsaland the panne was to far away jeeze having to drive over 2 hours to a themepark 😁😁. (wel ok going to the westcoast and lagoon in the late spring so thats going to be a couple of flights so thats new)
Im surprised you enjoyed Xpress 13. Walibi Holland is my local park and I hate that ride, no forces, so boring and rough. I only enjoy the launch (which is nothing special but fun) and the queue line 😂
Also I agree Untamed is the better ride compared to Goliath but again ad its my local park and I have a season ticket I gotta say I prefer Goliath. I can ride that all day long and it never ever gets old, Untamed is definetly tougher to marathon
This comment refers to the Booster Bike entry, as it's noted this model can only be found in 5 parks around the world. I know it isn't noted as "Motorbike Coaster" on RCDB. But aren't the Tron's at the Disney Parks also realistically "Motorbike Coasters" by Vekoma?
I'm not sure if this still the case, but Troy kind of lost a lot of popularity all of a sudden, because, indeed, it was getting rough. Before that it was smooth like George and the Dragon (English translation of joris en de draak)
If you’ve ridden Troy last summer then you’ve ridden it at his worst. At the moment it’s getting the biggest retrack ever done to it so it should be a lot better when it’s done
Have not been to Toverland yet, which would probably change the ranking, but so far: 1. Goliath. 2. Untamed. 3. Gold Rush. Goliath edges out over Untamed due to Untamed being very pretty forceless outside of the airtime. It basically has no positives or whip, which really lets it down for me. I rank Gold Rush really high because although it's short, it has a really amazing mix of forces. Hangtime, good launches, some airtime, positives, and a really whippy dive loop. The short ride length is really offset by how re-ridable it is, and queues are often very short, so you can easily get 5 rides in a row.
Troy is the biggest coaster in the netherlands thats why people love it its the tallest the roughest and the fastest coaster in dutch for me its just a pure 10/10 troy is not normal 🎢🔥
Yay we need more Vogelrok appreciation ❤️
Agreed!

It also has a banging sound track that plays on loop in the queue, to this day i still remember the song vividly

I went 2 times on goliath and both of the times I got some great lateral and floater on the twisted airtime hill
So many great coasters.
