- Many songs from the Tamil Films have been ignored periodically for reasons best known to no one. Especially, never or rarely attempted in any reality shows, stage shows or competitions.
When the nation is on a Quarantine, Subhasree Thanikachalam launches this new series.
This series will feature a set of rare songs that are rarely heard, rarely performed and she will also try and give some trivia for the songs.
The songs will all be performed by young singers who came out of her shows, which mainly focussed on old songs. The sessions are unplugged and performed with minimum instrumentation. No retakes. One stretch live performance..

Amazing singing Narayanan👏👏👏. Soulful song with long sustains so beautifully rendered. Saashwati's singing was perfect for folk genre, way to go. Flautist and Thaala Tansen of course completed the package
OMG ! Narayan and Sashwati literally took us to yester years. They could sing exactly like the villagers if I may say so. Mesmarising !!! Selva and Venkat were good with. Their vafhysms. All in all A class performance. Of course the credit goes to you for bringing this out so well.

Subhsri mam ,the morsing was played by Sri.Murugesh ,I fondly calling him murugesh mama..he visit and stay with us whenever he come to ceylon ,he playes all type of instruments ,he was so talented.The horse foot sound in Mannuyir ellam ponnuyiraga (Uthama puthiran)played by him..I remember him whenever you put these golden songs ..Thanks Mam.

This song is tuned on hearing of Bengali song. This was told by MSV in an interview. In Bengal it was rendered by SD Burman. Salute to master MSV.

That is how Msv got inspired for tuning ‘vandha naal Mudhal’
Yes..it was a Bengali number tuned by SD and used in the Hindi film Sujata which was released in April 1959. But MSV-TKR duo picked up the humming and the opening strand
to improvise it to create an immortal folk tune in Bhaga pirivinai which was released in October 1959- Six months after Sujata! But that doesn't detract anything from the joint creative effort of Kannadasan, MSV-TKR, TMS- P.Leela. Monumental work beautifully rendered Saswathi & Narayanan supported by the instrumentalists. Hats off!
