    Wow, I thought your other videos were fantastic but this one with your drone is absolutely stunning. I could see this being on a cinema screen. Absolutely amazing.

    4hrs to hike this? Wow, I have watched this again as I've been up Laddow Rocks and thought it a harder climb than Kinder. It is a beautiful hike though. I'm going to do the extended Horseshoe as I want to take the three Trigs in. Definitely one for a long day for me but loved watching this again Alex. Thanks again for sharing.

    Did this route in reverse the other day, great little solo walk! It was very boggy from westend moss to black hill! But the 2nd half was lovely

      Still one of my favourite walks I've done in the Peaks. Very rarely see people up there, but you're right.... the bog can be awful!!!! I avoid that area at all costs during the winter

    Great stuff - did the walk today but anti-clockwise. Blowing a gale and got wet but fantastic. Your video perfectly captures the walk - better than my naff photos 😂

    Wow what more can one say, brings back many happy memories of all the time ive spent there. We used to go aircraft wreck hunting in the Peak District there's absolutely loads of them, we also did a lot of bog trotting on black hill, bleaklow, kinder scout and many more. Really Really impressed with your blog , kind regards Jay

    Brilliant video and so well presented, well done! I once had an owl fly close to me at the Hey Edge trig point. In daylight too, it come to have nosey to see what was going on I think.

  • @chrisbentleywalkingandrambling

    I hate Trig Point hoggers. Go up, spend some time but give it up for the next hiker. Great vlog, beautiful views. Weather was definitely better then than now.

    I was on Black Hill on Monday this week and had the summit to myself. I did want to do this walk up from Crowden via Laddow Rocks, but i didn't have the time as i don't drive and had to start my walk from Holme village. Hopefully i will be able to do it when the longer days get here. Great video and channel. Subscribed. 👍😊

    What a wonderful day for your walk. It was such a memory for me. I climbed on Laddow over 50 years ago. I had not thought about this for years. It was so brilliant to be reminded of those amazing views. As we were based in Nottingham we did not come over here so often. It was a bit of an effort to get here and there was so much rock available on the Derwent Edges. You look to be having the most amazing time exploring the Peak. Long may you continue.

      That’s amazing! So glad it brought back some fond memories, it really is a superb part of the Peak District! Definitely worth the drive up from Nottingham! Thank you so much, really enjoying it and I won’t be stopping any time soon 😁 hope you have a great weekend, cheers!

    Hi Alex, really enjoyed that video, it was fantastic to be reminded of this walk once again and what a stunning video it is! Fantastic footage, completely understand the risk to the drone in strong winds and as you say, the views are so epic it’s not really needed! I think you did a better job of navigating to Hey Edge, do you remember how tricky it was last time with all those hidden holes under the foliage making it quite a task getting across that area without a discernible path for a while! You had some stunning weather and it must have been great to take the whole day and spend time appreciating those epic views! What a place!

    • @alexcripps.outdoors
      @alexcripps.outdoors  2 роки тому

      Thank you very much Greg!! Easily one of my favourite walks in the Peak District just for that view you get from Laddow rocks! Yes I found the path a lot easier this time compared to the previous experience we had 😂 Couldn’t have asked for better weather! Hope you have a fantastic Easter weekend and mange to get out on some walks! Thanks once again Greg! 😁😁👍👍

    Hi there Alex :) great to see the beautiful sky and the rather dry roads especially after all the rough terrain I saw you going through lately. The area looks amazing, it feels like it is almost entirely untouched, like no one has ever walked here… yet not so unforgiving or wild as one would expect it. Thank you for the great video!

      Thank you very much! Yes it does feel like your out in the wilderness up there especially on the way back down! It’s a fantastic part of the Peak District. Thank you very much! 😁👍

    Beautiful walk up to Ladder Rocks 🪜 🪨
    Hear your drone wind fears Alex, all our recent walks bar one our drone has been grounded, just not worth the risk.....that being said when you do get the drone up, wow! That extra dimension and views, mind blowing! Screw the risk, get it up! ❤🦅👍☕

    • @alexcripps.outdoors
      @alexcripps.outdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Yes!! It’s such a risk when it’s wind (which is all the time in the Peaks 😂) , but yes I’ve loved experimenting with it, so much to learn with it still!

    Hello Alex, wonderful videos, thank you. Very inspiring. One question I hope you don’t mind me asking.When you get to the top of Laddow rocks the pennine way path is very very close to the edge which made me a little dizzy. I returned to Crowden but would love to try again. Can you trek a little more away from the edge in the same direction? And pick up the pennine way further north? Thank you.

    Just discovered your channel and subscribed. I am also doing the trig bagging challenge and did this walk probably the same week as you. It was just stunning and I will definitely be doing it again. You captured the scenery beautifully (though you didn't show the nasty bogs on your way back 😂). Great video 👍

      Thank you so much! Really appreciate that! Great to hear you’re doing the trig bagging also, such a great way of seeing all of the Peak District. 😂 it was actually not too bad this time, however I have been up there when it’s wet and it’s awful for the bog isn’t it!! Thanks again, hope you have a great Easter weekend 👍

      The Peak District National Park is in central England and covers a number of counties. It was the UK’s first National Park and was formed in 1951. (See Wikipedia).
