This is inline with my observations as well. Anything under 300 yards I've always considered close range. Always considered 300 to 600 to be sort of a medium range, and long range starting beyond 600. Spot on. :)
I hunt my dad's property in north Alabama. The longest field is 605 yards. There's a small clearing in the wooded area that is another 21 yards and from the blind to that far edge it ranges 626 yards. I've hunted here for roughly 40 years. Mr. Eagleman's data, opinion, experience parallel's mine
James, you should have an option for your app. that is a one time fee instead of annual cost. I’d bet your Subscriptions will quadruple. Myself to be included in that- Love your work, but cost is an issue for a lot of us. Cheers!
It’s the most advanced ballistic app on the market and does more than any other app out there. That’s why there’s a subscription even though you can get some for a one time price or even free. They don’t come close to the capabilities of this app.
Most long shooters use temp stable powder so I don’t worry about it We are going to put that option in for shooters that don’t use temp stable powder. But later as Android is my priority.
@@gilreamlol. Suuure. Apple has been chasing Android for years. They have just now closed the gap quite a bit with the last two iterations. I own Android for the same reason I still live in the US...freedom.
The USAMU has an excellent publication which covers wind appraisal and corrections. It’s called the USAMU Service Rifle Marksmanship Guide. You can buy it from the CMP Store.
So… It turns out that the Eötvös effect is not pronounced ee-oh-tuh-vus I just looked it up… It is a Hungarian name and apparently the correct pronunciation is Uhht-vush. The good news is that the correct pronunciation is actually easier to say than the myriad butchered phonic versions floating around out there. North Americans typically sound very Podunk ignorant when it comes to pronunciation of international words and names. Not trying to be a prick… I too am guilty of the same. We just don’t put in any effort. And honestly there is no excuse, for today with google in our pockets learning the pronunciation of a word is easier than understanding what the word means. Ironically, if you say a foreign name or word correctly complete with native accents some people might think you sound pompous or self-aggrandizing… but if you say it wrong you’re an ignorant yokel. This is comical if you think about it. Cheers!
@ Yes indeed… and God help you if you try to say Vihtavuori like the Finns do. This is where I draw the line… it aint happening… at least not in public. 🤣

How much is it annually?
@ 25.00 a year
@@barbourcreek gotcha. I'm in.
In my humble experience, from what I've seen, anything past 600 yards.
Great video, thank you.
When is the Eagle Ballistics app available for Samsung in Canada
Testing now
The United States Army Marksmanship Unit and NRA Competitions say Long-Range begins at 600 yards.
Does your app automatically assume that ambient temp is also powder temp?

@@barbourcreek I can't wait. Please let us know as soon as the Android version drops.
Are you gonna bring your app out for Android?
Why would anyone own an Android? Maybe just because they are a little cheaper? iPhone has so much more performance

@@charlesludwig9173no thanks. Never was impressed by amu’s wind reading skills

@ most likely nobody… actually.
Its a strange name for an esoteric thing.
I usually just call it vertical coriolis simply to avoid the Hungarian. 🤣
