      But we can't say whether it is externally determinate or indeterminate

    At 1:06:59, while calculating Dse, shouldn't "E" be equal to 2? Because the loading is vertical and supports are at the same level.

      yes there vl No horizontal reaction and summation of FX not equal to zero ,hence E=2( summa Fy and BM equals to zero)

    sir has already clarified in the comments below,that at 43:00 and 1:07:10, there is mistake for "indeterminate" as "determinate" and "equilibrium equations as 2, respectively.

      basically, the sir said that the Beams are indeterminate but he ment to say they are determinate structures, because you can always find the internal forces (i.e. BM and SF) using the equilibrium equations.

    Ye subject muze bahot hard lagta tha lekin sir ke Aise lec dekhake lagta hai so simple subject aur favourite subject na ban jaye . Thank you sir . Apko kitna bhi thank you kiya to kam hi hoga . Excellent teaching style sir . Kash clg mein aise teacher hote toh har clg mein IES banega .

    i guess there is a mistake in question of 2D frame at time 1:06:57, in vertical load condition you put the value of equilibrium equations as 3 where as it should should be 2.

      Yes bro u r right … since vertical load is acting so in equilibrium equations summation fx=0 will not be considered, so there will be only 2 equations, i.e. summation fy & mz =0

    Sir, a lil bit confused, 42:50 about the assumptions, i think beams should be internally DETERMINATE if no internal hinge is provided, because no closed loops, so C=0 and no internal hinge, Rr=0, then Dsi=0, right?

    At 24:56 for external static indeterminacy Equilibrium equation should be 2, because Fx and Fy is only working there. Sir, please clear that and also for internal statically indeterminacy formula will be M-(2J-2) ?

    at 25:40 total no. of joint would be 4 or 5 because as we know joint is the point where two or more members meet. At top hinge support no two members are meeting . Plz do explain

    At 1:07:00 when we are finding DS for a beam with vertical loading, we are taking only 4 external reactions, however, we are taking the value of E as it is 3 (instead of 2 in case of vertical loading). Why so? Also, I tried solving this solving with the alternate method and the answer is same i.e, -1 but if we take the value of E as 2, the answer of Ds is equal to 0.
