I love this man!You can literaly feel the love at his live sets.Smiling faces, huging strangers, giving the bottle of water to a man/woman who you didn't ever met before, dancing like there's no tomorrow, the true raving spirit. From the very first time I've heard his music I fell in love with uncle Carl. That was 26 years ago. When the time comes for him to stop to perform that will be a very sad day for those who love and appreciate the true experience of Carl Cox, and his big heart...I love you man,I love your music!I wish you all the best.

I'm an old man these days but Carl Cox has been DJing in some of my most happy (??) moments.
Most notably Dance Valley 1998 - best set ever

I have known of Carl Cox for years, seen him mix but never heard him speak. This was a great insight into the man behind the turntables

I think James is a great interviewer these days and definitely a fan, asking questions that get the other person thinking and excited to give their honest answers rather than when you see some robotic responses some other interviewers get.

God I love this dj. Saw him dj at the Astoria in London early 90’s when Orange were putting on club nights. Carl was on first and played for just one hour, he probably had to rush off and do countless other clubs that night. Wow, never forget seeing him play and absolutely rocking the club, infectious enthusiasm. Thank you Carl. And thanks James for putting this podcast together. 😊

So glad to hear how James got into Techno! Same way as me! ‘Awfully’ into EDM at Tomorrowland and that served as a gateway for all of the genres I love now like techno, melodic techno and hi-tech minimal.

Used do dance at Carls parties in Sutton United football club hall.
Also his local gigs and weddings he did for people.
It was great music at the time…his mixing and the soul/jazz funk days were in full swing.
Imagine still going on with the groove so many years later. Well done Carl.
A big hello to Pam and Andrea

I know Carl Cox for his Ford Capri Drag car and his support of Micahel Dunlop & various road racers who compete at events such as Isle of Man TT. I understand he does well from his long career in music and enjoys a lovely car & bike collection. Carl fits in well in Australia and is loved by many. A true gentlemen.

Carl Cox is the absolute bollocks!! I really remember himback in theday 90/91 for me when I first started to go out raving!!! Haha@@ and I alwaysremember that he would do the 3 decks thing!! Just fucking wicked!! Love doves!! Pink new yorkers!! Clear-caps!! Red and blacks!! Sunrises, snowballs, callies,Pink spectrums, fat burgers, ying yangs....my word the beautiful pure MDMA of days gone by.......they really were so special back then, from what I understand, the saffril that they used for the actual base of making MDMA, was organic and not the chemical one that they started to use from 1992 onwards.....and when you think about it, it makes sense.....they were always clean with no comedown and were gentler when you came up.....my god shut up!! I had some of my best nights out with Carl Cox behind the DEX!!!! Just so talented and versatile! And remember, back then all the rave tunes weren't so tailor-made so to speak, and beat mixing was fucking hard ,but he used to pull off some amazing stuff, I always remember him mixing energy flash by joey beltram, with" we are i.e." by lenny. D. ICE, and he was cutting this mad kind of 91' techno I suppose you would call it, sorry I don't know what it was called, but I just remember that rolled so well!! He was doing it in such a unique way......I always remember this, I was stood there and had done a pink speckled clear cap, and I had come up on a white new yorker! And just felt out of this world!!! My blood felt like helium.....and when I took a step my feet and legs were as light as a feather!! And all the hair on my body was stood on end.......and I was tingling all over!!! Aaaaahhhhh........I really miss real ecstasy......and all the Innovative music that comes with it......I really wish I could relive 90/91 again!!! Big shout and big respect to CarlCox for everything he has contributed to the scene overall.......loveeternalmate!!!! Jump and spread out!!!! Close your eyes and enjoy cru!!
