I visited Norway three years ago and stayed part of the time in Alesund at the Radisson Blue hotel just next to the Hurtigruten dock,. During that time I saw about 6 of the Hurtigruten ships as they stopped briefly. Just so happened that the first I saw actually arrive was the Nordlys. The day before, when I arrived, I saw the Polarlys already docked. I told my daughter of the fire on the Nordlys that occurred in September of 2011 that nearly caused it to capsize.... right outside the hotel ! I have developed a fondness for the red, black and white fleet. I wish someone would produce a moderately large scale model of one of them......

Now that’s a boat! Can you imagine how big his truck must be to pull that thing?

2016 I was on the dock watching it come in........2017 I will be onboard and coming in..
