I will definitely do logging I have operated fourwooders since I was 10 my dad owened his own company the reason longer straighter logs are worth more is it is a higher grade because you are able to do more with it
I know this is an old video but I played fs 17 alot a few years ago and bough FS 19 a week ago. I forgot a bunch of tips and I gotta say you have the best FS super detailed videos on UA-cam. Keep doing what your doing. Simple, detailed, and to the point!
I think showing the frustration of getting hooked back up proves if you drop the log you effectively screwed yourself of easily handling the tree and it's quicker to give up and start a new game.... I mean move the equipment out of the way and cut it by hand with a chainsaw and load by hand. Thank you for all the tutorial videos. I've messed around with the farm manager start and try out all the different equipment but never really got rolling with anything. I'm thinking of starting over with the easy start and just get stuff done.

Today morning i have finished my forest, sell all of the logs. Scorpion king, autoloader truck trailer (i was lazy :) ). 1 trailer of logs 30-40 k euro. All of the logs approx 1,5 m euro. So forestry is good business, just do it, BUT: drive carefully ;)! Today evening i have new sappling forest. Excellent video!

If the blade of the chainsaw is flat with the ground, the tree will fall to the bottom of the chainsaw. Just a lil helpful tips to felling the tree the direction you want.
I love Forestry, though only if I can have my mods, like Autoloading trailers! Another fun mod which is useful in more than just Forestry is the Tajfun. It allows you to hook cables to things and drag/pull them along!
Great Job on the basics of forestry, wish I had it about 6 months ago when I started. Luckily enough there are quite a few youtubers out there that have done forest viideos that i could learn techniques from but a tutorial would have been much better to start doing it. I like to start with a chain saw, measure mod and a small trailer and work my way up to buying a log fork/tractor/trailer combo until i can rent or buy the cheap cutter machine and eventually I end up with a ponse and autoload trailer especially on forest maps where there's just to much work for one person to do, it becomes a job instead of a game :) Love the vid.
Fun fact, if you equip log trailers with ball hitches and use dollys, you can make a full blown road train. Second truck from the top struggles with two loaded trailers though its about 100hp less than the sleeper cab truck. Empty you can haul 4 of them although 4 trailers and 3 dollys are a pain to hook up
I use the Liebherr excavator mod with forestry head. Its in the in-game mod hub and is only like 90,000. Cheap option and it works on any size tree. I also use the MAN rear mounted log truck. You can add a trailer and because its a rear mount crane you can fill the truck and trailer. Fits 6m
There's a log fork mod in Front Loaders called Biobeltz I think. It's handier for players new to forestry because it has two top grips as opposed to the base game and adds a bit more stability and easier initial clamp of the logs.
For the semi trucks.. I love the Russian/old army 2 half ton looking trucks about 39,000. It is in the mod list of the game. You will want bumper 2 with the extra lights for "high beams". It has no rear lighting tho. Can have semi along with other mods for logging, water/fuel or grain transport. Also has a ball hitch at the back too of the basic truck, so if your not pulling a semi trailer you can still move a hitch trailer.... I find the "lummber jack mod" helps with super human lifting so you can just pick up trees by hand to load them.

I've been playing the game a short time but have been watching fs19 videos for a while. Been trying logging here and there and have learned a fair bit from this video. I have not seen any sort of comment confirming the quandary if you can plant trees anywhere {i.e. asphalt roads, etc.}. I recently planted 20ish trees on the ravenport map, and a couple landed in the centerline of the road, so yes trees will grow anywhere your tractor can navigate at least as far as I have found so far.
My first time I played this game, I started at Ravenport. At some point, I wanted to clear some room for animals, so I had to cut down like 3 or 4 trees. I bought a chain saw and leased some basic equipment to to the job. OH MY GOSH!!! Those trees were a freaking nightmare to cut, clean and load into the truck. I'm usually pretty patient, but I ended up rage quitting and deleting that save file. I started again at Felsbrunn, and I love the nice straight trees. The forestry equipment in this game seems best suited for tall, straight trees. I like the realism of Ravenport trees, but the equipment and controls just don't lend themselves to efficient cutting/cleaning/loading.

Officer I highly respect you. I don't even get why people hate officers. These guys are there to protect you from bad guys. I always respected them. Law is law you should follow it but until you are not a bad guy you shouldn't be hating or afraid of them. Believe me they are nice people

Just a heads up, there is a minor collision on the 2nd stage of sapling growth. IE an implement/equipment will detect a collision. (Like a tree stump) Also 6m logs sell for more than 8m. Good video though! Very descriptive without all the useless jargon.
AFAIK, hired hand planting only works on fields that were not grassy to begin with, at least on the maps I've tried. You can plant them, but hired hands don't work.
LOL - Loved that video with the scattered logs bouncing around with the csz tool too, if i use thta i always load about 3-4 but only from the end of logs not the middle, it's much safer with that tool.
Hi, I watched this video hoping to find a way to make the fields larger on lands I own. Not really interested in forestry, just want to get the trees down and out of the way for plowing. Your video showed me how to do this cheaply, by using a chainsaw, and a front loader on my tractors followed by a stump grinder. BTW, I tried doing this is one of my play throughs using a chain saw and making the cuts small enough that I could lift them myself, then loaded them into the expanded standard farm trailer. Basically cut down two trees, and once the trailer was fully loaded, tried pulling the loaded trailer to the port train depo. Never made it there, the trailer tipped in the middle of my largest field and scattered the wood all over the field. How NOT to handle trees. Anyway, I just got a whole bunch of respect for guys and gals that do this for a living.
How did I miss this. I been mad that I could not tell what length I was cutting. Between AD being on and not knowing to look in the cab... I like the looks of the Scorpion but the Rottne seems to just work.
I played the Kleinhau Hurtgen forest map in FS17 and a number of game days (24 game hours at real time rate) achieved €1m on a regular basis, best €2m using a Scorpion King mod to give 12m length logs, a Oskosh military truck (high ground clearance to go over stumps) and two auto load log trailers as a road train. Logs delivered to saw mill as 12m logs. Could make at least €60k per delivery. With practise and overloading up to €90k. It is also somthing to do in winter and when snow is on the ground if running seasons
Great tutorial video my brother. I have learned real fast, that the crane grabs on the equipment, are a real pain in the butt. I started logging, back in 17, with the best logging mods I've found yet. There's a channel called FDR logging. Those are way more advanced machines, and do a much better job, with the whole logging experience. They will take quite some time to learn, be it with mouse and keyboard, or joysticks. If you really want your mind blown with modded logging, give him a look. I haven't used the in game logging equipment, in a long time. Except the chainsaw.
I have a question about trees in Farming Simulator 19. On home map (the one that comes with the game and no mods), there's a ton of trees, and hills that i want to get rid of (Field 19) but how? Can you do a video tutorial on cleaning up FS19 fields, trees, trash, and terraforming? Thx. Oh, also wondering how to refuel tractors and how to wash them.
I run seasons mod and many realistic script mods for traction and weight handling, I run logging through the winter with my livestock then spring to fall is crops. Running a scorp and a claw crane I can make about 5 million a game day (1x time 0700 to 1900) sunrise to sunset. My small multiplayer game of just me and 1 other guy we can process 1300 trees a day and make about 35k for 3 trees cut into 6m lengths
I have mod I can plant three trees at a time and I put them at 4m apart you can choose between 8m and 4m spread I put at 4 and plant then double back and double up! If you do a small field like this you can plant hundreds of trees and spend about 15k on saplings and spend 2 hours harvesting 1 hour transporting you can make 1.5m easy
What’s the best equipment to deal with collecting small wood (firewood)? I leased a chipper only to realize afterwards that it would not power-up with my tractor, nor did I know how to locate the “right” tractor. Thanks
I would look through the modhub at what they have to offer under the forestry category, some mods in there for smaller operations if you will and smaller woodchippers available.
What would be helpful is a video on how to complete the Logging Tutorial. This seems to be an issue. I'm loading logs onto the trailer, and the percentage complete isn't changing. OK, got by that. I didn't see the message about doing to sell. And then it really doesn't explain how you sell, I had to watch a video just for that action.
did you ever figure out that you were trying to grab the tree upside down at the end? That's why you couldn't re-grab it. irl wouldn't matter, in game it does.
Hey farmer cop good video on this subject . I like to add one thing I don't know if this mod works on console, on the topic of tree stump removal. I have found a mod that's really easy to remove tree stumps though you have to be careful when its running it can delete logs too, the lizard Trex 600. All you do is hit b and run it over boom no more waiting on default system Xd.
@@FarmerCop ah ty ^_^. I have tested it more as a pc only player in general , it still works great just be advised though watch that it doesn't catch logs you want to harvest it deletes entire trees O_O.
It would have been nice to show how it's sold at the saw mill. Very tight to get into and nothing obvious to say, "Drive here". But I'm sure I'll figure it out. :)
Very valid point did not even cross my mind, normally there is a wood chip pile to sell wood chips and a checkered area for selling logs, when the logs are in the zone you go to a yellow icon, similiar to a store icon, and right click to sell the wood. @@FarmerCop No Biggie! I'm on the Green River map and that saw mill is tight! I don't see how to get an 18 wheeler back to the selling point! All the controls are going to take forever to get used to. Frustrating but I'll get the hang of it I'm sure. Thanks for responding! :)

I find that the CSZ mod implements tend to glitch out and such sending the logs flying if you try to grab more than one log or if the log gets caught on anything (other trees, trailers side rails, etc.). Anyone else experience this or am I just lucky?
Don’t know if you’re still playing or not, the log grapple I had lots of trouble out of so I thought maybe the bag handler might work, turns out it does even with multiple logs( up to 5), still get the occasional glitch but by far less than with the grapple and a lot simpler to just unfastened, let them fall and retry.
I guess forestry is just not mine XD Too much headache even for the money it brings. Plus waiting for 12 days is insane. I get bored at x2000 speed. I can literally make 10 mil in 12 days by mowing grass for silage. "Like watching trees grow". =)
@qwertyafrojkthataintme running over it won't work because they have no collision detection until the 3rd stage of growth and there is no way to burn them unless the PC has a mod the PS4 doesn't so I'm assuming this is just a troll post.
@qwertyafrojkthataintme yeah thats the problem I'm playing on seasons it takes 1 year for a season of growth for trees and I need the plot I made the mistake of planting trees in so I can plant Poplars instead, they grow faster and guarantee payout within the year.
I have had some problems with invisible branches and such. Is this a common bug? I play without any mods at the moment. They affect the vehicles when driving over them but I can’t pick them up as they are invisible. Once I hade on getting loaded on the trailer so it was somehow connected to one of the visible pieces. Then I couldn’t drive to the sawmill since I kept getting stuck to objects on the side of the road... Is this common, and is there any known fix?
bit of a cop out not showing all the problems picking logs up from the ground with the different pieces of equipment. That's the hardest part, and what puts me off from doing more than very occasional logging. Trying for 10 minutes to get that one tree loaded onto a log trailer and still having pieces sticking out at weird angles so you get stuck all the time driving them to a lumbermill is a real pain.

There's a wood chipper in the farm building bit which sells your chips automatically. Good way to build up cash quick if you have alot of trees
Forestry is my go to rainy day income. Dump two pallets a day into your farm and you will be netting 125000 to 250000 per game day.

If you really want your mind blown with modded logging, give him a look. I haven't used the in game logging equipment, in a long time. Except the chainsaw.

I have a question about trees in Farming Simulator 19. On home map (the one that comes with the game and no mods), there's a ton of trees, and hills that i want to get rid of (Field 19) but how? Can you do a video tutorial on cleaning up FS19 fields, trees, trash, and terraforming? Thx. Oh, also wondering how to refuel tractors and how to wash them.
I run seasons mod and many realistic script mods for traction and weight handling, I run logging through the winter with my livestock then spring to fall is crops. Running a scorp and a claw crane I can make about 5 million a game day (1x time 0700 to 1900) sunrise to sunset. My small multiplayer game of just me and 1 other guy we can process 1300 trees a day and make about 35k for 3 trees cut into 6m lengths

I have mod I can plant three trees at a time and I put them at 4m apart you can choose between 8m and 4m spread I put at 4 and plant then double back and double up! If you do a small field like this you can plant hundreds of trees and spend about 15k on saplings and spend 2 hours harvesting 1 hour transporting you can make 1.5m easy

What’s the best equipment to deal with collecting small wood (firewood)? I leased a chipper only to realize afterwards that it would not power-up with my tractor, nor did I know how to locate the “right” tractor. Thanks
I would look through the modhub at what they have to offer under the forestry category, some mods in there for smaller operations if you will and smaller woodchippers available.

What would be helpful is a video on how to complete the Logging Tutorial. This seems to be an issue. I'm loading logs onto the trailer, and the percentage complete isn't changing. OK, got by that. I didn't see the message about doing to sell. And then it really doesn't explain how you sell, I had to watch a video just for that action.

Those forestry machines never work for me on modded maps. The trees say they are too big for the machine. Even when I’m doing pine trees.
Forestry is 💩 on mod maps. I also struggle to remove trees that are in the way.
don't forget to crouch when using chainsaw, to maximize harvest.

did you ever figure out that you were trying to grab the tree upside down at the end? That's why you couldn't re-grab it. irl wouldn't matter, in game it does.

Hey farmer cop good video on this subject . I like to add one thing I don't know if this mod works on console, on the topic of tree stump removal. I have found a mod that's really easy to remove tree stumps though you have to be careful when its running it can delete logs too, the lizard Trex 600. All you do is hit b and run it over boom no more waiting on default system Xd.
The TREX is great and it is on all platforms :)
@@FarmerCop ah ty ^_^. I have tested it more as a pc only player in general , it still works great just be advised though watch that it doesn't catch logs you want to harvest it deletes entire trees O_O.
It would have been nice to show how it's sold at the saw mill. Very tight to get into and nothing obvious to say, "Drive here". But I'm sure I'll figure it out. :)
Very valid point did not even cross my mind, normally there is a wood chip pile to sell wood chips and a checkered area for selling logs, when the logs are in the zone you go to a yellow icon, similiar to a store icon, and right click to sell the wood. Let me know if you have any questions and i will do my best to help out
@@FarmerCop No Biggie! I'm on the Green River map and that saw mill is tight! I don't see how to get an 18 wheeler back to the selling point! All the controls are going to take forever to get used to. Frustrating but I'll get the hang of it I'm sure. Thanks for responding! :)
@@thomaswhitten2537 Yea that sounds annoying to have such a tight yard for a sawmill lol. Yea forestry is definitely something to get used to for sure.
I find that the CSZ mod implements tend to glitch out and such sending the logs flying if you try to grab more than one log or if the log gets caught on anything (other trees, trailers side rails, etc.). Anyone else experience this or am I just lucky?

Don’t know if you’re still playing or not, the log grapple I had lots of trouble out of so I thought maybe the bag handler might work, turns out it does even with multiple logs( up to 5), still get the occasional glitch but by far less than with the grapple and a lot simpler to just unfastened, let them fall and retry.
I guess forestry is just not mine XD Too much headache even for the money it brings. Plus waiting for 12 days is insane. I get bored at x2000 speed. I can literally make 10 mil in 12 days by mowing grass for silage. "Like watching trees grow". =)

@qwertyafrojkthataintme running over it won't work because they have no collision detection until the 3rd stage of growth and there is no way to burn them unless the PC has a mod the PS4 doesn't so I'm assuming this is just a troll post.
@@FarmerCop the Stump grinder doesn't work this is for Saplings Stage 1 of tree growth. There is no collision detection until Stage 3.
@qwertyafrojkthataintme yeah thats the problem I'm playing on seasons it takes 1 year for a season of growth for trees and I need the plot I made the mistake of planting trees in so I can plant Poplars instead, they grow faster and guarantee payout within the year.

I have had some problems with invisible branches and such. Is this a common bug? I play without any mods at the moment. They affect the vehicles when driving over them but I can’t pick them up as they are invisible. Once I hade on getting loaded on the trailer so it was somehow connected to one of the visible pieces. Then I couldn’t drive to the sawmill since I kept getting stuck to objects on the side of the road...
Is this common, and is there any known fix?

there is a mod that lets you use a shovel to plant your trees by hand. lets you place them where ever you want.
Yes very true, i dont go over any mods in my tutorials to keep it more simplified :)
bit of a cop out not showing all the problems picking logs up from the ground with the different pieces of equipment.
That's the hardest part, and what puts me off from doing more than very occasional logging.
Trying for 10 minutes to get that one tree loaded onto a log trailer and still having pieces sticking out at weird angles so you get stuck all the time driving them to a lumbermill is a real pain.
After you practice a bit it goes a lot faster
