Spoiler to me the film is way to long so I barely understand the plot so if someone can please explain please do so, my current understanding after watching the film is that homeless Paul became high and became Jesus of the sand people then challenged the landlord of the universe and some how won.

nope. Paul still has a whole planet as his disposal since he is the heir of caladan.
Besides he will mary the princess so he is in fact ruling over 3 grand houses. and he became the emperor. plus the fremen are is ally so he also control arakis...
