Man! You Swedes sure like the wood-gas stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Volvo made a proto-type as their bid for alternative energy. Thanks for the video!
You guys are my personal heroes ! You did such a great job, I read your diary on your homepage and I am so happy that there are people out there who share the same thoughts and ideas with me. My best wishes to you from Germany, Hardy
Awsome! I am not sure of the practicality but great to see that people still have an element of madness and crativety!! Long live Steampunk!!! I wish you all the best in further development of this porject.:)
My 90 year old father saw cars in Paris just after the war in Europewas over running on wood chips. He remenbers tanks or cylenders or tanks on the roof or along the running boards.
Hey, what's happened in the last 3 years? Have you developed? Does the engine still on wood gas? That's very interesting? Do you want to build any prototype for a passenger car? What to grow back, exterior, simple design? Not for Europe, admission far too complicated, but for all countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia. Here is wood at each corner, here no authority makes difficulties. Think about it, the people are very grateful to you here. Greetings from Panama!
Thumbs up! Great work. The Germans used this technology quite a bit to power vehicles (e.g. delivery trucks) domestically in the latter part of WWII. Every vehicle they powered this way saved liquid fuel for combat. Vedbil, three questions: 1) Could most of that pipe have been channeled under the body rather than over it? 2) How hard would it be to build a small stationary wood gas plant, and liquefy the gas after it is generated? 3) Is the gas mostly composed of methane, or other compounds?
yea i was just being a smart ass. it backfired horribly lol. i often find myself making friends with the people i disliked at first. ur pretty cool i guess. you give one hell of an argument. and the didgeridoo is awesome
Hi Johan! I saw you in the "Planet Mechanics", an amazing car! Also, some guys have built these cars in my country. It looks cool when gas jumps in the price! Thank you for the good work!
You are the King! Great car. I want to build one. Where can I find the principals of operation. Create the wood gas and engine setup to burn wood gas. Is pellitized wood usable? Great car, you are the King.
Hello from Australia. What a way to go! Love what you have done. I was wondering to make this a day to day usable mode of transport could some of the wood gas be taken off and compressed? This compressed reserve could be used for starting the wood gas burner and having a true cold start enabling the wood burner to get up to temperature whilst you are driving.
but the conbustion like my breakfast, walnuts are not the same.. well but maybe technology will inprove it, that thought it´s awesome I like the way you think make´s me feel like the movie ¨Back From The Future¨.
I see also you have marked as favorites videos on people playing the didgeridoo, as do I. Perhaps you were being smart in the first place to imply I was not giving this man a break, and also to comment that no one would read my "essay", as you incorrectly called it. I am also more selective when it comes to the ones I choose to favorite. There is a message to relay, and time is of the essence. No time to play, but there is time to share the wonders of human ingenuity, in all forms.
Sometimes a knee-jerk reaction inhibits us from learning from each other. We must learn to stop fighting with others, there is a concerted effort designed to cause strife among all people; it is part of the plan. When we are conditioned to continually find fault with each other, we are destined to fail. You don't always have to agree with others...but you absolutely should talk things out. We have been programmed to make fun of each other; I failed you and fought back. I apologize. ;.)
@L33TFooMaster Don't forget some feedstocks don't have the same efficiency, only because they don't behave phisically the same in the feeding hopper. Just an example, using coffee grounds makes your gasifier clog up.
@NorkiddExo You are very wrong if the gasses are filteret well theres no problems here in denmark we had a truck that ran on woodgas from 1940 TO 1967 over 400.000km without any problems and that was on org engine and a very simple woodgas system it drove for a sawmill, so they just continued running on wood after the war. all the sawdust and woodchips =free fuel
Oh, I believe you, no offense, but isn't there a way to make these look more attractive? I have seen one of these here in America, up north years ago. There's just so many pipes everywhere, and the main fuel source itself is boxy looking...must it be this big? I am thinking if this idea is to be viable for many others, should it at least be a little sleeker, more aerodynamic, perhaps? Thank you!
PS for someone who actually favorites Teletubbie, Sesame Street, and an unusually large number of fail videos, and who is only 19 (19! See aforementioned videos), you might just be an authority on "Fail". lmao. Your mother is calling you.
You seem to be under the impression I am not. On the contrary, everything I suggested is viable...we, as inventive humans, just need to figure out how to improve upon this design so that it is more visually acceptable to the masses for the idea to ever gain further implementation. Let's face it, we are brainwashed to only want to see beautiful design...I was thinking...why can't the pipes be inside the body of the vehicle? Why have we not already made this for the open market?
Further, there are so many regulations on crumple zones, liabilities for accidents where the resulting damage is worse due to a secondary explosion, etc. I could go on and on. The thank you at the end is for the post in the first place...perhaps you interpreted it as sarcastic; it was not. For an example of what I mean, look up the radio interview of Robert Patterson. Listen to the whole thing. Why must we direct airflow through a long hollow tube.....anyone's brains ticking on this one?
@stroker383vega Hi i can tell you the size its a volvo 140 series and its the org: engine as i can see B20 so that vould make it a 2000cc if you are from us you have to calculate it over to your system cui? hope it helps::: regards from denmark
sorry to bother you guys, but i'd like to ask a question, i just can't figure it out: so: gas is produced in the gas producer, then goes to the cyclone, and to the filter, and then to the cooler. this means you have hot gas in your filter. i'm asking because, in Imbert blueprints, the gas goes first to the cyclone, then the gas cooler, and THEN, when gas is cold, to the filter! so, how come you didn't have problems with your filter?
Sorry, it's already out there, online, for others who really understand what I was getting at...so keep your umbrella statements over your head so you don't get pissed on again.
@bluemoondiadochi lol, I saw that like 2 minutes after i posted that comment, but if it was like a Lada or something equally horrid it would be the ultimate soviet shitcar.
Man! You Swedes sure like the wood-gas stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Volvo made a proto-type as their bid for alternative energy. Thanks for the video!

Hello from Denmark. You are awsome. I wish more people would do things like that.
So apparently you can travel and barbeque at the same time. I like it! Good job!
Yeah it's cleaner.. but imagine.. someday without trees?.. greetings from Mexico City!
its alright. and i totally agree with you. there arent many people like yourself.
It may look like junk but he doesn't pay the oil companies a dime. Wood power baby!!!
this is hilarious! It's very cool, though, and a little on the loud side. If this was my vehicle, I could see myself being late to work everyday!
Awsome! I am not sure of the practicality but great to see that people still have an element of madness and crativety!! Long live Steampunk!!! I wish you all the best in further development of this porject.:)

this looks great guys.nice build
That's freakin badass man. You rock. Nice chin strap.

@rexbetts89 It's possible to register a car in Sweden with a wood gasifier, if you pick a pre-1975 one to avoid all emission laws.
nice men i have the same project in my mind but with a pick up truck

That car looks like something out of "Mad Max".

Great looking car!
You guys like fuzzy dice to? I thought that was just a cheesy american thing. GREAT CAR
How convenient! It only requires a couple of mechanics and 20 minutes to start up!
is he serious with that thing??? crazynesss props for experimenting

great and...beautiful assembly! :) hälsningar fron finland :)

Let's just tack a sail on that contraption for good measure! Fun idea, though!
I have two old Citroen 2cv engines in my garage... All this is giving me some great ideas!!! hahahahaha
But i just want to go to the corner store to buy some milk....

you are my idol man that is SWEET
Great job!!
@Taino187
yeah!:D the old volvos are the best! with the choke on the dashboard:P beutifull. great job done here guys!
Great Idea, but is there a way you could contain the gas? If that could be done, you could fill your vehical up like fluid.
It looks like a car from "Mad Max" movie. Have you tried different projects that would start an engine before this and after?
I'm sure he knows what the heck he's doing but that looks incredibly dangerous! :^o
It is if the gas leaks.
hvordan går bilen? fremdeles i drift?
@pacificcloud Its a Volvo 142 and it has a B18 engine.
Sounds like starting my propane truck, crank crank crank.
What kind of car is that? It looks like it has the motor I need for my bobcat.
dude ur my hero that car works good and i lik eur chops lol =3-
Häftigt! Hur ofta måste man elda i pannan?
Är det ett gammalt gengasaggregat som du monterat på en 140? Eller är det hemmbyggt?
No wood gaa car is complete without the fuzzy dice on the mirror. Ha Ha, but great job on beathing the gas company.
Thats cool!
love the fluffy dice
Hah!! can you say " chitty chitty bang bang!!!!"
A starter flame heats up has into a vapor in a sealed container and it gets really hot and the wood puts off gases that can be burned
Genius!
HELLO MI NAME IS MARCELO I COME FROM CHILE.

@Hylte85 Not all af them had a B18, only the early. But this one looks like an early though.
ya, ya, enough wit da mushy stuff. On wit life, I say!!
ive seen you in docksta a couple years ago
I would like to know the make and model of the blower unit being used?
Awesome!
@L33TFooMaster Don't forget some feedstocks don't have the same efficiency, only because they don't behave phisically the same in the feeding hopper. Just an example, using coffee grounds makes your gasifier clog up.
ROFL this is great - genius! and really funny

Thers just something funny but irrisistable about the idea of "just a minute i have to light my car on fire before we go"

Volvopower! Woodpower!
lmao thats dope man
cool
A 1970 142?
even the camera is made of woodgas.
Sweet volvo 140
PS: didn't i see you on that show planet mechanics?

never mind, found why!
although it is different from "traditional" Imbert setup, your setup of units. so i got a bit confused....
kool
back to the future
@tommyballe you reek of hate. and btw. it's not a soviet car but a Swedish Volvo, one of the better quality cars out there.
Hvordan er den å starte på vinteren?
Where is the flux capacitor??
a good way to never go to the petrol station again..it's probably illegal in a lot of countries unfortunately
but you have to go to the forest instead
I think its a soviet LADA tub!
Sorry, it's already out there, online, for others who really understand what I was getting at...so keep your umbrella statements over your head so you don't get pissed on again.
well the car does run on wood.....give em a break
ЭТО ЖЕ ТОТ САМЫЙ ЁХАН!!!
yea iv also got vidoes on UFO's, conspiracy and the universe. just like you do. did you see those?
all you need is some abba 8 track player
yeah, it would work just like cars fueled on "natural" gas. Except this would be even more natural.
yaa thats funny =3-
Cowboy tåget haha :D
this shit works!!
@bluemoondiadochi lol, I saw that like 2 minutes after i posted that comment, but if it was like a Lada or something equally horrid it would be the ultimate soviet shitcar.
Hey vedbil I am planning to make an woodgas-moped-trike.
I have some ideas but could you helpe me with the design, pleas contact me!
Thanks!
This isnt really a new creation. The Japanese and I think the Czechs had to do this during WWII
still the contamination
Engine won't last long haha, pre detenation and the gum from the fumes wearing out the piston bore.
Anyone want to see a woodgas bugatti veyron?
i think it was ~80 km
