      Hey Cynthia, Good question....I honestly don't work with a ton of wigs so I wouldn't want to give you wrong info. I DO however have connections to a lot of stylists and I will reach out to them and see if I can find any insight on this!

      This is so helpful! Thanks for your tips! What was the flat iron that you used in the video?

  • @bestnewf

    A video showing the model using the flat iron on the back of her head would be useful. Most difficult part of the hair to work with, on your own when you have lotssss of hair.

    What a great video! I can see now where I've been going wrong, things like using the lowest temperature because I was scared of damaging my hair, going too fast, not doing the whole length. At the moment my hair looks a bit like Carole's, only with more frizz from halfway down so I look a bit like a triangle (frizz from yesterday's fog). When I wash it tomorrow I'll bear these tips in mind, take my courage in my hands and turn up the power. Thank you Justin. Update. Hmm... The technique was a bit trickier than I thought. My hair is just below shoulder length and I have a tendency to pull it forward diagonally so there's no hair left when I reach what should be the ends. I think I need to practise with the straighteners turned off before I try again. That said, my hair looks better than it has done for the last three months, so I'm really happy.

    I cannot thank you and your lovely wife enough for making these informative videos. I am 66 and my hair is a bit longer than your wife’s. Because I too have a loving husband, I own a Dyson dryer and flat iron. I dry my hair with my head upside while using the diffuser and ‘’brush’ my hair with the diffuser in opposite directions to give my long hair lift and volume. Why? I have a physical deformity which prevents me from being able to dry the back of my hair without causing pain. When my hair is slightly damp, I use the smoothing tool and it leaves my hair smooth and shiny. I use the flatiron to my ‘curtain’ bangs to give them lift and make them bend back towards my ears. I wish I still looked like I did when my profile photo was taken in 2007 and before my 2nd spinal fusion. I have gained weight since losing my mobility (I use a walker now), but I am lucky to be alive. Which cut (if any) does your wife think would look best on me?

    Hi, this is great and has helped me loads! My only concern is that I have fine hair so I need root lift. Do you have tips for using the flatiron for root lift? I.e dry powder at the root and then using the flat iron to seal it in, or back combing, then hairspray and flatiron it? Sometimes with fine hair the flat iron makes it look thinner so I always tend to curl it so the tips are great.

      I hear ya there! Iron's are a tough one. Here's what I would say.....I use a flat iron for everything....curl, wave and straight. It holds wave longer, looks more natural and at the end of the day...they're just more useful. Here's a link to my favorite flat iron hands down. I recommend it to all my clients and they all love it! amzn.to/3a2yry6

      @@justinhickox Than You very much for your answer 😁😁 Your all videos helped me a lot. Talking about COVID i must first say that i know for about 2 mounths that this all pandemic is fake and all these peple who has millions and whabt to make a New World Order and role the world are doing great job. They are using peoples fear to control them. Althoug about 80 % of peple now know that pandemic has been fake the govermet still trying to keep peple awere of wirus. Checkin the temperature in some pleaces, wearing mask at shops. People have enough but they are frigtened of big mandates. Know ererybody is enjoying a beautifull summer but in tv and radio all the time propaganda 😔

    Thank you! I have the sides figured out but, still struggling with how to get the back done.

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  4 роки тому +3

      Great question, it really depends on the specific length and shape you’re talking about. As a rule of thumb if you’re going to have your hair layered in the back you would want to grab a bit of hair from your occipital bone pull it straight up and use it as a guide. If your top layers are not shorter than that it’s safe to say they won’t be cut too short and have the correct balance. But that’s a very broad answer without seeing your hair.
