I just listened to your thoughtless space 1 & 2 and proceeded to enter the thoughtless space. heart pounded, sweated, body twitched, eyelids filled with light and I sat with it, felt into it as it was and it subsided, but I was back to where I started during the thoughtless space again. it happened again soon after with same bodily symptoms. it felt as if I was on the edge of a cliff and and I surrendered or at least it felt like I surrendered, but it seemed at if I was still teetering and it never fell. this is the same results i've been getting on and off for years, but this time, the fear barrier part was almost simple to endure. it was welcomed. I can't pin point what it is that prevents me from breaking through completely.
Edit: thank you so much btw. the way you point is exactly what I've been looking for. although what I've been looking for is already here. i'll realize it when I realize it :)

Honestly, it is one of the easiest things to do, because it just happens when it happens. You do not do a thing. I am going to stop seeking to get mine. I am going to continue seeking to get mine. Both statements presuppose the same illusion. You do what you do.

You’re doing an amazing job with these videos. Man, I’ve been getting serious jolts from watching your presentations, including small outbursts of joy/laughter, which makes me nervous as hell. Been self enquiring for a few years, but more intensely during the last year or so. There are often long pauses without thoughts, followed by barrages of thoughts that throw up my deepest fears and phobias, as if the mind is trying to terrify me. There’s also a fear that I won’t complete the things I’m doing (working on music, etc.). Your vids are extremely helpful, so thank you very much. I’ll keep going.

Thank you so much for this!
This has long been my instinct, and I have spent many hours in that compelling but goal-less world of deep feeling and being with whatever sensation is there.
This talk feels like encouragement and ballast to go even deeper.

I’m torn between the peace I feel at the thought of nondoership, and an increasing sense of wrongness that I’m in my eighties and didn’t care enough or know enough etc. Could you speak about to what degree the intelligence of the universe is creating the present moment? Is our only job to accept without wishing it were different?

Back on track. Thank you all. Lately been pondering if no self there’s no personal agency … we’re just being lived. Peaceful but is it a copout? Just discovered Angelo who says he has no interest in philosophy. Of course. There’s just life happening. Just the aliveness of this moment. Most grateful.

This one really landed. Took me three tries to listen to it to the end without passing out asleep.
And yeah, I have crappy disrupted sleep at night but this passing out comes from the same place as the "sense of lack" which is just resistance to what is. To "this", the sensation I don't like.

Brilliant video. As I followed your instructions, it became obvious that this feeling/thought is, essentially, a lot of the personal identity. The ‘lack’ identity IS the thought/feeling. This begs the question, if that identity/thought/feeling is “just” a thought/feeling, then who am I? - if NOT that thought/feeling? And that’s where it got murky. So I perceived that “murkiness” as another thought/feeling … unfortunately this seemed to birth an infinite feedback loop which just leads to more and more thoughts and feelings.

    Hey Angelo,
Recently I got back from a retreat and towards the end I had a very profound encounter with the depth of my own fear. At one point I could feel my heart beating out of pure terror at every point in my body, this caused me to impulsively jump up and distract myself because it was too much to handle at that time. This was followed by an entire day of pain oozing out of every cell/muscle in my body. My muscles and internal system was realigning (and is continuing to do so). It felt like years of holding patterns, fear and tension was being released Now I feel as though something in me shifted. I don't get pulled into thought as much, I don't impulsively make plans about the future out of a need for safety as much and my body is significantly less tense and restricted. When I sit to meditate a lot of the fear is still there and I allow it to arise and work itself through naturally. I'm also able to let go of certain patterns of behavior and thought that didn't serve me.
There is a strange thing happening to me though. I am oscillating between being very present, at ease and conscious and having body pains, fear, anxiety, headaches and almost crying at times. I'm rather okay with the entire process that is happening, but I was wondering if you had anything to say about this. The pain, fear, headaches and all that always happen after my daily practice.
    Thank you!

And here I thought this video was going to be only another cute video of a dog trying to measure up to its pet owner. This is just the encouragement I need to have with about a coping skill I already have in my tool box thanks to my mom and some of her advisors - called meditation. My mom by doing so too was able to make it through a lot more than I have to reach age 90 while doing so. Unfortunate it is however that she is becoming more and more being unable to speak or walk anymore after going through so much. While in the past sometimes being told by someone that I barely know at work that they don't like me because I don't only post videos of cute dogs and kitties. What a pleasant surprise this video has because it has far more substance than that. After I have already moved and started over again while trying to figure out how to get enough rest while doing renovations inside and heavy yard work with no proper equipment at hand to do so. Like after moving while continuing to be faced with a flooding basement, having to reclaim a badly neglected apple tree, cutting down wild trees up to 14 feet high to put in a big garden etc. starting only 6 months after being in a roll over car accident at age 63. Instead of maybe seeing someone with less life experience getting killed while trying to prove they are man enough and way faster enough and way more knowledgeable than me to help. Which by the way did happen during the cutting down of the hard wood tree which I thought was too much for me to do alone. And no I am not a man. I am a heterosexual woman of age 66 trying to cope with severe disability which was not diagnosed until very late in life while being often told I am way too different to have around sometimes in shocking dramatic way. Like maybe being a pagan too. If it hadn't been for kind benefactors from the same family background as me my basement would be continuing to flood making my living space too small to offer any comfort and solace to any of my 4 adult children and their spouses and my 3 grandchildren too.

The more you think about awakening, the further away from it you may be. Impossible to intellectualize, grasp, or coherently conceptualize. In reading the comments made on videos discussing the concept of awakening and any path to it, it feels like there are two primary camps - those who desperately want to awaken because, yes, life is painful and replete with abject suffering and those for whom the involuntary process of awakening is underway. Involuntary? Yep. Can you "hurry it along"? I do believe there are methods that work in hastening the process - however, the drive to act out these methods is involuntary (in my opinion). In my case, The Path is having its way with me. The process of awakening feels like it is driving my thoughts, actions, and desires almost 24/7. But awakening should come with the dissolution (or muting) of thoughts, actions, and desires, shouldn't it?! Maybe in the Now of the final crescendo. But until then, it can be years of racing thoughts, baffling motivation (in service of awakening), and a ceaseless desire to be "home", empty, at one with source, and in the Eternal, Infinite arms of the Beloved (God). We might want to sit and ponder/argue the loaded concept of God and the ways in which humanity has perverted that concept - but there it is. Regardless of your "faith", or lack thereof, the involuntary process of awakening (often brought about by intense suffering and trauma) comes with a longing to be, again, part of a whole, a singularity (whatever label you adhere to that) - no longer a terrified fragment of a seemingly cruel and indifferent reality. The more you think you understand the concept of awakening, the further away it pushes you. This comment is my therapy for the day. Thank you for indulging me. lol. Love your videos. Keep up the awesome work. All love on your journey, brother and sisters. ❤

Something missing, something useful, something incomplete. Just what is it that perceives or assumes missing, uselessness, or incomplete and from what perspective has that been attained? "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe." - Sagan. What does incomplete even mean when existence is only seen in part by a part of itself? What is existence even without it's parts? Same eyes with new sight. Like a rhythmic vibration carefully pressed into a vinyl creation: Groovy.

@@Koort1008 Lol I re-read that and perhaps that seemed a bit harsh. Let me explain and please allow me to tweak religions slightly, as the matter is of Faith.
There was once a young man in Japan who fled his abusive home and went to live and train in the woods. In this time matters of dispute could be settled with an official duel. Somehow or another this young man found himself in such a predicament and on the road, heading toward the place of the fight wondering about the outcome of his first duel. Along the way he passed a shrine. He was about to approach and do the ritual prayer, for that is proper. He stopped himself. A strange expression must have passed over his face with sudden realization. He bowed deep and low, thanking the Gods for everything that he was and asked nothing more. That young person went on to win every battle he ever fought and Miyamoto Musashi, the author of Go Rin No Sho (The book of five rings) is perhaps the greatest samurai to have lived among us.
