I appreciated the thoughtfulness and craft of it, it was very economical, maybe too much so with the Blumhouse low budget and as a result felt overly restricted - the message is very clearly stated, which I like, the fact that it actually has message is great. Two things that hurt it for me was the overbearing music which was way overblown. Could've used a lot less noise, more silence - more ambient noise. Also, it wasn't scary. It's a mixed bag for me but leans more on the positive end, mainly because of the idea of the inevitability of becoming your parents despite trying your hardest not to was neat angle. That kind of inevitability is scary, like growing old and getting sick and dying. Not sure if you've seen it but Upgrade - Leigh Whannel's first movie he wrote and directed is probably in my top 10 all time movies, it's awesome - highly recommend. Side note: I'm getting a bit tired of these monsters terrorizing women lol, pick on some roided out commandos like Predator.
