    Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this video and find it valuable and helpful in creating a more coherent wardrobe. My mom was my first style muse and she taught me a few very important lesson regarding looking more put together and chic. Who was your style inspiration growing up? Feel free to share in the comment section. Thank you for watching!🤍✨

    Wow, I admire your Mom: moving to a foreign country, learning a new language, working full time, raising three children, and looking chic on a budget on top of all that! That deserves respect. I think all her, and your, style guidelines are great.

    Re Ironing, I think it's mostly a European thing. My mother was from Italy and everything was ironed, and I mean everything! To this day I never leave the house with even a hint of a wrinkle because it makes me feel unkept. And yes, I still iron everything - even dish towels!

    • @Justyna-gz1ew

    Wonderful, lovely tips. So relatable for everyone. I’m sorry for the early departure of your mom. My mother also passed Young from illness and I was only 15. I do remember her wearing very simple clothing all the time. Few patterns, nice trousers and T-shirts and cardigans. She always elevated her outfits with jewelry which I now have and share it with my sister. I wear her wedding ring as my own and have a few key pieces of jewelry to call my own. I’m very grateful for simplicity and how she placed more emphasis on her heart and being right with the Lord than on how she looked most of the time. She had a beauty that radiated from her. Blessings to you and your life as you continue without your mam, but with beautiful memories of and with her💞

    Hola Agnes🍀 Thank you for sharing your beautiful mom with us, she sounds amazing. As a little girl, my mom would dress me in cotton dresses and stockings. As an adult I dress in jeans and blouses most of the time, but the little girl in me adores dresses and skirts. I am trying more these days to incorporate them into my daily life. I love my Mexican red haired mom and I am very grateful.

    My heritage is Polish and my grandmother was my fashion inspiration. She was fashionable in an era when women wore hats and gloves for accessories. We often went shopping together and I have to attribute my love of fashion to her. I really enjoyed these tips because my Polish Mom, grandmother, aunts, and women at church all epitomized most of these tips. You never saw them with clothes that weren't ironed and their children were always dressed nicely because they saw to it.

    This was such a beautiful video ❤️and I loved hearing about the style tips that you learned from your Mom. Every tip is useful and a great reminder to me as I sometimes become complacent with my appearance and styling. It was interesting to find out that you grew up in Canada; I’m Canadian as well. And what you said at the end hits hard as I found out that a dear friend passed away today. It’s important to wear and enjoy those things we save for “good” and not to save them.

    Hello Agnes, lovely video and I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing these tips. It is a lovely way to honor your mother (& I kept imagining that you look just like her!) That was a good question regarding what kinds of tips. My mother is Polish too, but third generation on both sides, however she grew up speaking Polish in her home. My mother has never felt comfortable with style or makeup, but she has a very natural look and when younger, wore lipstick and mascara with her one perfume to parties. She has a very simple style, and a natural elegance but does not see it herself. I cannot remember specific advice, except to not look too overdone. She went to school with children of some wealthy families and she said their style was good quality, and a kind of casualness to it. Nonchalance.Her mother sewed much of her own clothing when young, and loved style and hats and in her older years always wore her hair up in a flat swirled bun on her head. My father's mother was a model when young, and I do remember her advice; good posture, even with large breasts! She had amazing style sense. But I rebelled as a teen in the 80s when she wanted me to wear a navy dress with white piping! It was a lovely dress, but I lived in Alaska and it would have been so out of place there. However, her makeup style and clothing style are perhaps the one I turn to the most because we do resemble each other. She too believed in quality, but that quality did not always cost a lot. Thank you for asking as the questions brought back some very funny, sweet and treasured memories.

    • @HelloAgnes
      @HelloAgnes  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for looking back and sharing your story with me! Your grandmother's advice about having good posture is quintessential to having a good style and looking more put together. This issue has been a struggle for me because of my large breasts. No matter how nice my clothes may be, it just doesn't look great if I slouch. Something that I still need to work on:)) Thank you for sharing and for watching.

    Ironing is super-important. When someone wears wrinkled clothes, that is all that we notice. I live in a hot climate, so I need to wear linen in the summer and that’s tough to keep unwrinkled. I iron it to perfection before wearing, then try not to stress about it wrinkling, other people get it about linen. A linen/viscose or rayon blend wrinkles less and is just as breathable and almost as cool. Have you tried the LA brand Rails? They make beautiful shirts and other items in this linen/viscose blend, and others, their silk ones are nice, too.

    • @HelloAgnes
      @HelloAgnes  2 роки тому

      I have tried Rails! I have a couple of the button up shirts in my closet. I couldn’t get over how soft and comfy they felt when I first discovered the brand a few years back.

    Loved your video.❤️ I'm so sorry for your loss, my mom was also Polish and passed away from breast cancer almost 11 years ago.💔 She always looked effortlessly chic too, and a lot of your tips you mentioned she also used.☺️ You're so right about enjoying your "nicer" stuff now and not waiting for that special occasion. I've also started to invest in good quality jewelry because in the long run it's worth it, since gold-plated jewelry doesn't last long. I love your emerald necklace and ring. This video resonated with me for so many reasons. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the lessons you learned from your mom. My great Aunt was this role model for me. I had to laugh when you talked about not having many prints in your wardrobe because I feel exactly the same way. Polka dots are about the only pattern I don't tire of. Another tip for me is wearing the right undergarments--especially bras. It's important to be fitted by a professional and wear the correct size. So many women could look so much better if they were to do this! Also, having a good haircut always makes me feel polished. Lastly, my mother always looked put together, never sloppy, when she left the house. That was one of her lessons for me. Thank you for sharing your mother's tips. She sounded like a lovely person. I'm so sorry to hear of her early passing.
