This was a lovely post. Here is a tip for you for late February (Rørosmartnan). It may be short notice, but people from the valley of "Gudbrandsdalen" and "Østerdalen") will take the 200 km journey to Røros pulled by horses for it - taking multiple days just how it always was (walking cattle or whatever for trade). Imagine documenting this "congregation" of old happening of trade every winter from ancient times to this day in a district that is almost singular on the planet doing "winter mountain farming" for livestock ("Vinterlego" in Norwegian) - a cultural behaviour that only can be found in mountainous areas of South America for comparison. There is something epic about experiencing these old patterns of trade that included not only "I can sell a cow at the market" but also "I can weave the most beautiful carpet".

We also have -30 Celcius here in Quebec (Canada) ;-) In our outdoor Christmas markets (which span several days) our artisans use portable heaters to survive the cold. Even though your beautiful kiosk/stand was on the other side of the Atlantic for me - and it was therefore impossible for me to visit it 😢 - I still bought a mug and two tealight holders from you in the past via your website. I love them very much and I hope to acquire more in the future! A very happy holiday season to you both, to your families and to your two adorable dogs 🙂
There were years in Montana that we would hit -15 to -25 Fahrenheit (-26 to -31 c) along with the windchill as the wind is always blowing in the plains areas. We would also get arctic cold blasts that come down from Canada. One of the reasons I left Montana when I joined the US Navy (to travel to warmer climates!) While I don't miss the cold, I do miss the snow and have finally come to time in my life where, if I could have a cabin with a wood stove and plenty of firewood and no reason to leave, I would go back. The night time lit of winter views of the village remind me of Thomas Kinkade paintings!

Just an idea to keep warm( take a heating matt for your feet...put it a bit above the floor..on a wooden stool/pallet so you don't stand on the floor. This is such a beautiful video. I miss the CHristmas markets in Europe. We have one here in Fredericksburg TX, that is very nice, like the ones in GE. We have a big German community in that area. - 30C ? Yes in 2010 during a Christmass trip to Norway🤗 The ski slopes were closed. Snow as hard as concrete. The moisture in my nostrils froze. BUT the beauty of it all took my breath away. Someone had scattered handsfull of diamonds in the snow. Tiny diamond droplets shimmered on the tree branches. The crunch of the snow under the soles of my boots and the fact that the sounds change when there is a difference in the temperature. The smell of the cold fresh air. I ❤ Norway. Thanks for sharing. Sincerely hope that your business grows and becomes very successful. The Nordic nations has been abundantly blessed with the ability to produce skillful "art and crafts". Beautiful video. The trouble with Norway is, when you visit, you never want to leave. I first visited years ago and spent a lot of time there training with the military, but then I discovered some of the national parks in the north. She was run down by a big dog (they were playing), and fell unconscious. The crash hit between 1st and 2nd vertebrae. Stayed in hospital Helsingborg for 3 days. She could not sit nor walk by herself at first. Very scary. She has made fantastic progress though, I'm so grateful. Wow Norway is really different. You two are so lovely and that painting is beautiful. Such a lovely video to watch and can't wait to see the cabin decorated. Fans on your stove will make the cabin warmer. You could knit blankets on huge needles - warm and fun to have as are furry cushions made with wool and the desire to keep warm there is huge. The buildings are beautiful and I love wood buildings - Roros is stunning. Loved the white God Yul heart with red stitching. You could knit wool hats etc. Sell along side your partner.

We used to live in the mountains of Central Oregon. It would often get to -30F. a little colder than you had the day of the market. I can honestly say you are hardy to be outside for so many hours. I remember shoveling snow in that weather. My husband's grandparents came from Norway so watching your video was a lovely connection for us. Happy Holidays. 🎄🎁🎄
I don't know how I found your channel, it is Christmas Day here in Holland, Michigan, USA and we live in cold here but not even close to -30 below. It does get that cold up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I loved seeing Norway through your lens, and the work that you both do is amazing. I love your home, it looks so cozy. What I loved most was how many stars you can see at night, I saw the shooting stars go across the sky, and I was so happy I could see your life and your home through the lens of your camera. Here we are in the opposite weather We are in Recife, Brazil, its 35 celsius warm in Christmas period. For me sometimes its odd cause the feeling its that christmas has much more to do with cold, snow environment ...No way we ever gonna find pine trees here 😂....But we find our way to get into christmas mood here even sweating while eating the foods hahaha...But New years eve is much more bout beach and the fireworks...so this part we are good here ...

Wonderful video Leena! Your new dog is the luckiest in the world to have such a loving and patient new mom & dad. I also do "art/craft" shows and it is a lot of work, and when bad weather hits during these events you have "nothing to show" (as they say for no money coming in) for your long hour efforts or producing and setting up your products. Though I would love to see and buy something from a show in person, you can, like you said, reach the people who love exactly what you produce. God jul! So glad that a possible goal would be opening a shop in town, even with limited hours. Also, how about painting on goose eggs? Blowing out the inside, gesso them, and painting them. They would also make a good inexpensive surface to work on. Loved ur video.

I make UA-cam videos in a similar spirit as you and in the land where I am living, we are having an unusually warm winter and it makes my heart happy to see places with still so much snow and a winter wonderland. This is such a beautiful video. I miss the CHristmas markets in Europe. We have one here in Fredericksburg TX, that is very nice, like the ones in GE. We have a big German community in that area. - 30C ? Yes in 2010 during a Christmass trip to Norway🤗 The ski slopes were closed. Snow as hard as concrete. The moisture in my nostrils froze. BUT the beauty of it all took my breath away. Someone had scattered handsfull of diamonds in the snow. Tiny diamond droplets shimmered on the tree branches. The crunch of the snow under the soles of my boots and the fact that the sounds change when there is a difference in the temperature. The smell of the cold fresh air. I

Beautiful video. The trouble with Norway is, when you visit, you never want to leave. I first visited years ago and spent a lot of time there training with the military, but then I discovered some of the national parks in the north. Hello Leena, Joachim and precious fur babies! This is a beautiful video! Northern Norway is of spectacular beauty! And cold! Yes. I am used to freezing weather. I live near Montreal, Canada. Winter here can have temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius with bone chilling humidity.

We've just been to Spain for 3 weeks, and while being there our collie had a bad accident back home. She was run down by a big dog (they were playing), and fell unconscious. The crash hit between 1st and 2nd vertebrae. Stayed in hospital Helsingborg for 3 days. She could not sit nor walk by herself at first. Very scary. She has made fantastic progress though, I'm so grateful. Still has minor neurological issues, but is doing better every day. 🧡

Wow Norway is really different. You two are so lovely and that painting is beautiful. Such a lovely video to watch and can't wait to see the cabin decorated. Fans on your stove will make the cabin warmer. You could knit blankets on huge needles - warm and fun to have as are furry cushions made with wool and the desire to keep warm there is huge. The buildings are beautiful and I love wood buildings - Roros is stunning. Loved the white God Yul heart with red stitching. You could knit wool hats etc. Sell along side your partner.

We used to live in the mountains of Central Oregon. It would often get to -30F. a little colder than you had the day of the market. I can honestly say you are hardy to be outside for so many hours. I remember shoveling snow in that weather. My husband's grandparents came from Norway so watching your video was a lovely connection for us. Happy Holidays. 🎄🎁🎄
I don't know how I found your channel, it is Christmas Day here in Holland, Michigan, USA and we live in cold here but not even close to -30 below. It does get that cold up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I loved seeing Norway through your lens, and the work that you both do is amazing. I love your home, it looks so cozy. What I loved most was how many stars you can see at night, I saw the shooting stars go across the sky, and I was so happy I could see your life and your home through the lens of your camera. Here we are in the opposite weather We are in Recife, Brazil, its 35 celsius warm in Christmas period. For me sometimes its odd cause the feeling its that christmas has much more to do with cold, snow environment ...No way we ever gonna find pine trees here 😂....But we find our way to get into christmas mood here even sweating while eating the foods hahaha...But New years eve is much more bout beach and the fireworks...so this part we are good here ...

Ich kann sehr gut nachvollziehen was du über den Verkauf von Joachims Kunst sagst. Es sind eben nicht einfach Produkte, sondern Kunst. Und die kauft man meist nicht nebenbei auf einem Markt. Aber es war sicher trotzdem eine tolle Erfahrung.

Wonderful video Leena! Your new dog is the luckiest in the world to have such a loving and patient new mom & dad. I also do "art/craft" shows and it is a lot of work, and when bad weather hits during these events you have "nothing to show" (as they say for no money coming in) for your long hour efforts or producing and setting up your products. Though I would love to see and buy something from a show in person, you can, like you said, reach the people who love exactly what you produce. God jul! So glad that a possible goal would be opening a shop in town, even with limited hours. Also, how about painting on goose eggs? Blowing out the inside, gesso them, and painting them. They would also make a good inexpensive surface to work on. Loved ur video.
