I couldn’t agree more. Its getting hard to watch so many balls hit the ground, service aces and poor passes. Florida Doesnt need to be in system to be terminal, but it certainly helps. I need to see more Fischer as well. I feel like where they have her now, is Florida’s weakest rotation so its not helping showcase her talents. Id expect to see major switches for the spring portion otherwise I don’t see huge elite success.
I can’t for the life of me figure out why Mary Wise won’t play Paige Hammons. They desperately need her ball control to run the middles. The last two sets sc blockers weren’t even following the middles anymore.
I agree we could use her ball control, but thats not why they aren’t running the middles..it’s a coaching call to work on the new fast tempo timing specifically with the outsides...honestly a terrible decision that cost them the game!!
PUT PAIGE HAMMONS IN RIGHT NOW. I have been a huge Florida team for the last 4 years, but this is ridiculous. Paige is the best all around player. Best server, amazing ball control which Florida desperately needs for a well rounded offense, and she is a great smart hitter that again, will add variety to the offense. It’s so frustrating.
Honestly well deserved for South Carolina! To come in and play a team that has not lost a single set the whole entire season, is a pretty intimidating team to play. But Florida was definitely was not at their best tonight. Let’s start off with their passing, lots of shaky passes and balls that should have been dug up, look nothing against cerame but I just feel like she is so inconsistent, and tonight she bobbled the ball a lot tonight. I really think that she just gets outplayed by Ellie Mckisick (who is such a talented freshman), but another thing I would love to see Florida do is start Riley Fischer at that Libero position, she subbed in for Allie Gregory last year and has a lot of experience in the Libero position so I would absolutely love to see her on that Libero position over Cerame. Also there is definitely a lot of talent on that bench that should be utilized, like a perfect examples is Paige Hammons, and Mia Sckolowski (Who never gets to play anymore it seems like). Also there were so many sloppy and non necessary errors that Florida that could have all been prevented. No hate to Florida at all! I am diehard Florida fan but tonight was just hard to watch. But on a positive note, I think that Florida’s setter Marley Monserae has improved sooooo much and I am happy that during the quarantine she practice and she improved! Also another positive thing to say about Florida is that their offense is looking a lot better this year, and they have some strong arms in ceaser, Hall, and Carlton, last year they just relied on only like a few people for their offense (Hammons, Cramer, Hall but had a back injury so was out for a bit) anyways well deserved for South Carolina!
Gotta give it to South Carolina’s libero. She basically got every ball up and took away cross court for the Florida’s outsides. Props to their defense.
In really sad to not see Paige in the rotation especially since she held it down so well last year. How do you go from a 6 rotation player to on the bench... so sad. Also Paula Cerame I’m sure isn’t getting as many digs probably from not practicing as much, but the other Libero Idk her name... she missed a lot of balls. Idk if it’s nerves or what but like she was very delayed so hopefully they can work on that bc I think she’s still great!

I guess Thompson is graduating in December. She is a redshirt-junior. The Gamecocks have two seniors on their roster (Robinson, Vastine) and two graduate transfers (Dixon, Manning).
Sorry but the refs really were bad during this game. So many bad calls....not calling doubles....florida having to waste challenges on easy calls.....refs failed this game.
