I'm watching this random video and think to myself, this guy could pass for Darrell Braun's exact twin, only he's super low key and never looks into the camera.
Man, in 3.5 years, your guitar wall has changed dramatically. For the better I might add.
Tone is in the fingers. You've got that nailed. 5 star demo and seriously nice playing.
Nice demo. In all of the UA-cam demos of noise-reducing tele pickups, these sound the best to me so far.
Man, in the last years (2020 now) your looks and your entertainment capabilities have changed dramatically. Towards being much better, by the way 😁
thank you! these sound awesome.. retains single coil clarity and reduces noise.. its a true single coil with hum bucking properties, brilliant.. don't get me wrong i love the typical hum bucker fatter sound but this is excellent, for purists who still want the single coil sound without having to spilt coils and not quite getting there.
Glad you liked the demo. They are pretty cool pickups :)
I love watching your videos for two reasons. I learn everything about guitars i need for build my telecaster, and i practice english grammar and listening. In spain we say: matar dos pájaros de un tiro 🤣🤣🤣
You are great, my friend 🤟
These Lindy's are making me rethink Shawbuckers. Nice. Thanks!
the way you bend the strings at 1:45 make me thought you are using a G Bender! Both the sound and the gesture!
Between Fralin, Dimarzio Area T, and Kinman it's hard to believe anyone even bothers with non-noiseless pickups anymore. They've really got the noiseless thing down nowadays.
I've never even heard of these pickups. Many Thanks.
+Daniel Anytime :)
Lovely review!
Evans Eliminators, made here in Victoria BC by Rod Evans, are side-by-side humbuckers - six alnico poles in the bridge version, and 12 paired alnico poles in the neck version (to better capture the wider string travel at that point. Canadian content, you understand...
The neck sounds amazing to my ears.
Hey Darrell, that back wall of guitars sure has change in the last seven years.
Holy crap! You are so meek in this video compared to your current content. You’ve come a long way.
Badazzzzzzzz Darrell. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds pretty good, will put these on my comparison lists with Kinman, Barden, etc. Funny, your camera is like a fish eye angle here, and bends the neck backward. Your videos are getting better and better all the time, no doubt. I know this is an older one.
Dude, this is a great demo! Awesome playing too!
Thanks!
As they used to say in the 60's "You've come a long way baby!
These sound great and thanks for the demo. I have a set (also Blues) ready to install in my Tele but before I do I was wondering if that static sound we hear when you switch pickup positions is endemic to these pickups. It seemed to happen each time you switched from neck, to middle to bridge.
I enjoyed the playing so much. Lots of fun to listen,
That Bigsby Thinline is a beast. Not sure if you built that but its truly gorgeous. Great demo. New subscriber.
Glad you like the tele, and thanks for subscribing!
Screw you for being able to play so well. I mean, I came here to check out pickups, and now I'm throwing my guitar in the trash.
😄😄😄 Thanks man!
Great sound!
Lindy said that of the 4 outputs, the blues was the darkest, but as demoed here, they've still got plenty of sparkle and F sound.
Great tone, great demo ,Darryl . I am thinking of putting these ( blues specials )in my new fender Ultra Texas tea to replace the fender g4 noiseless, stock pups,
Do you think this is a good idea ? ? Lindy seems to recommend 500 k pots these days for the blues Specials split blades.. I want a bit warmer fat Strat sound >>?
Awesome vid!!!
Good demo
They sound fine. But I think my Fralin Vintage Hots sound a little bit richer/fatter. Same highs and lows, but these noiseless seem slightly "thin". Might be the hollow Tele. Unless you play clean, I don't think you could tell the difference, except for the noise of course.
3-31-2023......You've come far pilgrim !!!!
beautiful guitar, pickups are a nice addition \m/
Sounds great. Which output are those?
you are an awesome guitar player. seriously.
+the Live Kennedys, SD, California Thanks man!
Such an obvious solution. I'll never understand why most noiseless singles aren't like this
love it and great demo. Is the neck pickup any fatter than a standard single coil for jazzy clean tones?
I keep coming back to hear these pickups.well done. How's the balance between neck and bridge pickups.
Could you do a comparison in sound to some real single coils .Thanks
+Pinch loaf The balance is pretty close. I lowered the neck pickup a bit to achieve it.
I'll do a single coil shout-out video in the future and include them - stay tuned to the channel :)
Hello, wich are your favorite noiseless pick ups: lace sensors, split blade or fender noiseless?
+TOMAS POBLADOR I think the Split-blades would top that list for me personally :)
They should sound good as they are quite expensive!
Great Tone ! 250K or 500k Vol Pot ? Would you suggest a 500K pot for Hotter Split coils ? My reasoning is that the Hotter Pickup will provide creamy saturation distortion as in your video (which sounds awesome) and the 500k pot on clean settings ,would compensate for the 5% treble loss that these pickups have when compared with Lindy Fralins Vintage Split Blades. (Or is My Reasoning Flawed? ) Your opinion would be appreciated...
+Bryan Williams Thanks!
These are the stock 250k pots :)
Bryan Williams Lindy recommends the 250 k pot. Spoke to him today.
Yes, these pickups do sound good. I have had these and the bardens both are great pickups. However, I still prefer lollar over both, their pickups just sound more musical to me. For me a little bit of noise is worth it though. The noiseless take the noise out and some of the single coil sound. I don't think there is a way around it.
Is there phase issues when bend the 3rd string (neck pickup)?
what lollar model you recommend for the bridge?
Best video of Lindy Fralin split blade that I have heard.you dig the blue set better than vintage?
Thanks! I have only used the blues version of the split-blades. I'm sure the vintage ones are good too :)
Need to replace that scratchy switch otherwise enjoyed it. Sound was better than most. Even sounded decent on my phone unassisted
That Telecaster on the wall with the single coil bridge pickup and neck humbucker, pickup, where is your video detailing that? I built a Tele with 2 humbuckers, but want to get a little different sound. Thanks!!
I have a set of the blues output on the way.....what value pots are you using? Great demo by the way!
Thanks! The pots are stock Fender (250k). I hope you enjoy the pickups :)
Gee thanks Darrell you just drove the demand and price up by %50 aaaaahhh just kidding I HOPE awesome guitar and lics always enjoy your videos
😄 Thanks man!
This might be Sea Foam green, it is slightly bluer than Surf green.
which of the four split rails are you using? I understand that Fralin Split Blades come in four offerings.
Thanks for the demo. Great comparision! (I do own a set on a Warmoth T style)
Thanks! These are the 'blues' output pickup set.
I have to ask how you came to buy the blues over the vintage output? I'm extremely torn. Watching and re watching videos to make up my mind, I'm driving myself crazy. I need advice from someone who owns them.
I love the single coil character. I love that neck throaty sound and a bridge that's a bit more savory and on the brighter side of course, but honestly not crazy on the extreme twang.
My worries have been that the blues would be so dark that you'd lose the single coil character, and the vintage would be too bright.
Yes I watched your video, but still at an impass. Any help would be great. Thanks.
If your goal is to have classic tele tone, but without all the single coil hum, then definitely go with the vintage set. I love the blues set I have, but they are a little warmer and higher output than a typical tele.
awesome! the design is really clever !btw.whats the name of the 2nd riff ? thx!
Thanks! No names to the riffs; they are just jams I used for the demo :)
with this set-up, you could get rid of every other guitar you have! Interesting how, when you were showing the chords, I could hear it crisp up when you moved the switch... even without even hitting a string
+td tom 👍 It's definitely one of my favourite instruments ☺
Great demo !
What is the colour of your telecaster ?
+Dixie Tony Thanks! This one is Surf green :)
Great demo, which amp do you use?
+Can Ertogan Thanks! My amp is a Mesa Boogie Blue Angel.
What set did you put in these? Blues or Vintage?
Blues :)
Have you changed the pots as well?what value if you did?
+Pinch loaf No, the pots are standard Fender 250k :)
Do you lose treble like other hum canceling pickups?
Hey man!!!
Where did you get the body of the guitar because the surf green I've seen are so much on the yellower side unlike this beauty
This one might be sea foam green
Ok thank you.
Still using 250k pots?
LF split blade vs TV Jones Starwood?
this guitar is amazing :0 can you sell it to me right now? haha just kidding but if you built that yourself then I am not just impressed by your playing skills but also by your technical and building skills.
+Paul Haastert Hahaha! Thanks. One of these days I will put a video together showing how I put it together and what parts I used :)
+Darrell Braun Guitar that would be great! Your videos are really helpful. Keep it up!
do you advise any book for guitar that i can download from torrent?
Great guitar and playing but pup`s sounds like ones from aliexpres
Are pickups from Aliexpress really sound as good as these here? ) I love the tone!
Very nice I think I like these do you think it would work in an Fender Esquire for country chicken picking sounds Albert Lee style ????
+bastardsonofretkillr Yes, I think these would be great in an Esquire. I was using the blues version of this pickup you may want to consider the vintage wind that Fralin makes :)
Do you like these or Joe Barden Pickups better
+bastardsonofretkillr Unfortunately I haven't tried Barden Tele pickups.
