    About Authentic:
Host Shawn Boonstra makes it easy to understand how philosophy and biblical principles can help you live an authentic life in the 21st century.
We talk about real existential questions-stuff that everybody wonders about: the meaning of life, purposeful living, the nature of human existence, the thoughts of great philosophers and how those have impacted our culture and how we live-the nature of love, relationships, emotions, self-awareness . . . But most of all, we explore what it means to live an authentic human existence.
New episodes on Saturdays. Watch on UA-cam and a growing list of North American TV networks and stations.

I miss hearing Pastor Richards' stories of knowing Sister White when he was a boy. But I do enjoy your challenging "discourse."

Please see the following taken from the SDA Bible Commentary and originally written in Manuscript 33, 1911: -[Isaiah 53:1-3 quoted.] “These words do not mean that Christ was unattractive in person. In the eyes of the Jews, Christ had no beauty that they should desire Him. They looked for a Messiah who would come with outward display and worldly glory, one who would do great things for the Jewish nation, exalting it above every other nation on the earth. But Christ came with His divinity hidden by the garb of humanity, unobtrusive, humble, poor. They compared this man with the proud boasts they had made, and they could see no beauty in Him. They did not discern the holiness and purity of His character. The grace and virtue revealed in His life did not appeal to them” (Manuscript 33, 1911). 4BC 1147.2

I find some visuals which have very little to do with the subject matter somewhat distracting, especially all of the different faces. I love the ancient art and photos enjoyable though.

@@CyanMonkeVR-oj8kj What?!? Why do you have a problem with my preferences. It's an opinion that should'nt be open for debate. I love the very well put together presentations by Shawn, I just don't care for the added visuals. That's all.

You are right. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves to anyone on what we like about a sermon. That's what is wrong with people today

27:56 minutes into the video... a day of rest.
In the Apostolic Constitutions, probably written between 70 AD and 150 AD, before the time of Constantine and the Roman papacy, believers in Jesus were admonished to observe both the 7th and 1st days each week, most likely in their appropriate significance, as observing the 4th commandment was 'of the law' of God, while the resurrection of Christ was 'of faith' and a gospel liberty to meet with other Christians to 'honor the Son, even as they honored the Father' (Jn.5:23). There was no mention of a "change of day" until after Rome became proud, and the "one day in seven" sophistry gained hearers. But God surely 'scorneth the scorners' and 'giveth grace unto the lowly' (Prov.3:34) and 'beautifies' them with Salvation (Ps.149:4, Lu.2:30). God designed the good news of Christ, it seems, for the meek (Is.61:1) and 'saveth such as be of a contrite spirit' (Ps.34:18, 25:10).
