Sounds great now. The thing that’s impossible to imagine is how this sounded back in the day. It was like it was from outer space.
In addition to his playing, one of Jimi's most soulful vocal performances
Jim Gurganious always loved Hendrix singing. For me, his best riffs, best solos feed off the emotion of his lyrics. Stuff like machine gun and other instrumentals just leave me cold.
GOD DAMN!! Yet another example of the power and energy Jimi could weld. Not just with his enormous guitar playing, but also with his extraordinary presence as a Cosmic Voodoo Child who arrived at the perfect time yet was still decades ahead of his time. RIP and Forever live Hendrix

Jimi played Hey Joe the three times I saw him in Detroit. This brought back fond memories of those great concerts.
Holy smokes!!!! Just when I thought I’ve heard it all, along comes Jimi blasting his simultaneous lead and rhythm with the cleanest live rendition of Hey Joe from 1968. His voice was spot on and crystal clear. If this doesn’t give you goosebumps, you’re already dead.
This is one of the best live recordings of Jimi's vocals and his amazing guitar works, wonderful sound quality of the entire Experience! Thanks for sharing!
These Winterland performances are some of his best, the energy, power and authority in his playing was just extra incredible these nights. Listening to his banter between songs etc you can tell he was in great spirits still having fun and vibing.

I saw him at Winterland in '68 and in those days you had a lot of choices of venues. Winterland, Filmore West, California Hall, Longshoresmans Hall a good time to be alive in the city

I have searched for this and i think this is 1968 oct 11 and that means this is the Winterland album. That album has this verison of hey joe on disk 2. and after that Fire!
