I so loved listening to all the duMaurier books they had on audibles including Jamaica Inn which was great! I wish they had them all. I always enjoy your sharing so share as you so desire my dear!
Hello Becky🙂 I will watch whatever you make and whenever you post it. I have a growing discomfort around overconsumption in the knitting community and I started to avoid some of my last year's favourite podcasters because of the amount of mainstreem selfcare knits they produce. You're my favourite because of the uniquenes of your slightly haotic creative energy and balance in your knitting. Of course I would love to see you more often but not for the price of your stress-kniting just to have content. My latest bingewothy podcast discovery is The Knitting Jungle. And I'm always ready for one more rewatch of whatever version of P&P too😂
Hi, Dorota!❤ I always love hearing from you. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for your kind comment. I agree and I hope that I never come across as selling things to you all. Or that we all have to go out and buy so we can jump on a trend. My goal is for this to feel like our virtual knitting group. Where we just knit and chat and share projects. ❤ P.S. P&P is always the right choice. I’m going to go check out Knitting Jungle. I love channel recommendations, so please share with me any you think I should watch.
I love your podcast so much and was so happy to see a new episode. You all got quite a bit of snow…. I remember ice and snow when I lived in Arkansas as a little girl (that was 50 plus years ago, where does time go). The shawl you are wearing is beautiful and looks squishy soft, and warm, and love everything you make and plan to make. I love Rebecca, and the movies too. The original movie with Laurence Olivier is my favorite but I did enjoy the version on Netflix with Lily James as Rebecca.
Hi, Tina! Thank you so much for your sweet comment.❤ We used to get a lot more snow than we do now. But, this was definitely a nice amount this time. Take care. ❤
When you go to Nashville look for Rich Mountain Fibers. She’s a fairly new LYS owner and dyer from Mena, Arkansas. Your cowl is gorgeous!! Fun visit!! Look forward to seeing you more often.
Hi Becky!!! Love the aesthetic of your show! Your color scheme is always bang on and balanced! Love your knitting designs also on this podcast. You are an inspiration!
Just discovered your podcast and really enjoyed it. Particularly like that you acknowledge other makers and podcasters. It's nice to have a recommendation from a real person and not just an AI robot. Thank you from Ottawa.
@@marietappin9900 Thank you so much for spending your time with me, Marie. I really appreciate it. I love seeing and sharing what others made, so I hope to keep doing that as long as I make these videos. ❤️
I made the Carol sweater last year and loved knitting it. Unfortunately my gauge was off and it's a bit smaller than I liked so I either need to reknit it or just rip back some of the length and crop it a bit since it was a little tight over my belly and hips. I will hopefully do that at some point this year once inspiration strikes. I am adding the Jacob cardigan to my queue!! I've been looking for an open front cardigan and it looks like a winner!!
Hey, Jessica! Thanks for watching.❤ I can’t wait to make the Carol. I definitely want mine oversized like a big sweatshirt. So, I know what you mean. ❤
Jane Austen’s movies are the best! Colin’s version of Mr. Darcy is my favorite ever! Your first shawl is so beautiful and cozy, the kerchief made me laugh heheheh! I repeat sometimes: “ yes it’s a comfort. Absolutely it’s not!” (guess the movie!) Thanks for the lovely episode!
Hey hey! Love seeing you pop up. Always makes me chuckle. I’m super curious what yarns/colors you’ll use for Vertices. I have it in my queue and Kaci’s colors are also a favorite. I don’t wear a lot of shawls but might love that shape. Excited to hear you’re going to Nash Fest. Me, too! Southerners represent. 😂❤
I loved the book Rebecca, too. I had one quarter of Gothic novels in high school. When a crucial event was revealed, I remember I was sitting on the end of the sofa while my mother was watching TV. I let out a deep gasp, and my mother worried that something was happening to me! Frenchman's Creek is also good.
Aww! You’re so welcome, Kelley! Your podcast is a lot of fun and I can’t wait for another episode. ❤ I put the jacket in my Ravelry faves because I can’t stop thinking about it. 😂
I read Rebecca when I was a young girl as well. I was always taken with when she talked about the Rhododendrons. Jamaica Inn is way different. There was a movie of it made a few years ago. Every time I watch you I think I should start podcasting again. Love hearing about all your projects. You have the most beautiful grey hair.
Too funny, I re-read, Rebecca and couldn’t help but read the beginning with Joan Fontaine’s voice! LOL Great book. I’m reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt. It’s been an experience! Still have about 200 pages to go. Thanks for always producing such a fun podcast, Becky. Who’s Kaci? Never heard of her! Kidding! She is solely responsible for introducing you to us! Thank you Kaci! ❤️
Hi Becky! I love your Grid gambit so much, I have been eyeballing that pattern, so pretty. I had a lovely time visiting with you while I'm working on my Hello Friend vest! Great to see you...happy knitting! Marie
LOVED the snowy wonderland opening scene... there's something truly delightful about snow on a bale of hay! OK I cannot resist any longer: Grid Gambit "add to cart". I love the colours of your Zoolander kerchief. P.S. I'm currently listening to The Dutch House and loving it but I have a problem. It's Tom Hanks reading it and I don't think I want to ever listen to any other narrators going forward.
I am 100% the same with the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. I put it on for background while knitting all the time! I also love the book Rebecca (my daughter's name) and the Laurence Oliver version. I was so excited about the modern version but then so disappointed in how they changed the story 😕. If you haven't checked out Woozy by Celine knitting pod, I highly recommend!
My husband and I quote The Ten Commandments ALOT ( the movie of course) the over acting is the biggest chefs kiss !!! I just cast on a Felix pullover in a griege because I’m sticking with basics in 2025 apparently 😂
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.😉 Thanks for watching, my friend!❤
Always excited to see your posts! Your shawl and cowl are lovely. I like that you are not elitist about yarn choice. For gift knits to non-knitters, much wiser to use a JoAnn type yarn.
Hi Becky! I like variety in the podcasts that I watch, so go ahead and be creative and do whatever tickles your fancy! Oh Becky! Stranger than fiction is one of my favourite films! Pride and Prejudice (any tv or movie) is always on repeat! 😂But my absolute favourite is Persuasion, why aren’t there more adaptations? Love the cardigan you’re knitting. Will look for the pattern. Will watch anything you post on UA-cam. If you peeled spuds, I’d watch! 😂 Look forward to the next one 😊
OK, you had me at Colin Firth. I love that production. I am going to look at that sweater. You are making by Norah ( love love her designs), Jacob‘s cardigan. You made the right choice not continuing to read The Shadow of the Wind. I forced myself to read the whole thing (don’t ask me why, I have no problem abandoning a book and do so quite frequently) and I hated every minute of it! I tried both listening and reading on my Kindle. I’ve never read Rebecca. I love your podcast however you want to do it!
