    A former Plt Sgt of mine always talked about the three “R”s of good training:
    Relevant
    Realistic
    Recent
    The training in the video seems to meet all those criteria. Well done!

    Marine Corps Military Police are on the front lines of Armed Services Law Enforcement, and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training ( ALERRT) ,is the tactical tool for Corps Cops and other Police Force Units.

    I wasn't and am not a Cop, but I remember the first two rules we had on the Reaction Team. The Intruder doesn't leave the building. There are NO hostages.
    Bad guy is DRT he doesn't get away. Period.
    There are no hostages, a human shield is an extension of the bad guys body and you shoot to kill.
    God, I love the Old Corps.

    The quality of current training really concerns me. The first question is, why are they clearing rooms with secondary weapons, especially if there is an active shooter in the building? If you are talking about incorporating realism into the training but at the same time you are failing to teach a proper CQB fundamentals (1:20), essentially you are setting these guys up for failure.

      Not everyone carries rifles. Remember this is taught to ALL law enforcement, not just military police. Further, if you are first on scene, and there is an active shooter, seconds count. The time it takes to grab your heavy armor, grab your rifle, and grab your go bag means more lives are in danger sometimes you have to jump out of the car with what you have, and engage the threat.

      If you hear shots, you stop a systematic clear and preform hasty clears on your peripheral’s as you near shots.

    In this kind of situation I'm more concerned with what's behind me rather than in front. Your back is always vulnerable in any search procedure. A quick glance into a room and moving on is asking for trouble. Every room must be cleared first. I always recall the saying about a doorway being a vertical coffin. Going through a doorway is possibly your most dangerous move.

    • @brianhetzer8421
      @brianhetzer8421 2 роки тому

      Is this video, there was an active incident. Which means you go direct to threat/to the sound of gunfire. If there was no active shooter, and it was an armed person, then you would clear each open room.

    THIS is the kind of job we should be seeking to place good, gung-ho, qualified Women to be in, NOT Combat Arms. You want “cool training?” Seek to get into a Law Enforcement Battalion or LAAD Battalion, and ideally, the Marine Corps could bring back the Marine Defense Battalions as well.

    • @ogfrogman2990
      @ogfrogman2990 5 років тому +4

      c m0808 still kinda iffy bout women in this role, but definitely agree with no women in combat arms.

    • @cm-pr2ys
      @cm-pr2ys 5 років тому

      OG FROGMAN I hear you, and before I say anything else, let me tell you that I agree. BOTH defensive and offensive style jobs are risky for women. But if we have to placate their complaining by choosing one, I say choose a defensive role. You won’t have to leave the safety and comfort of a base to take the fight to the enemy like, say, the infantry. You have food, ammo, weapons, medical support, cover and concealment (hesco barriers, barbed wire, etc.), and even showers. You don’t have to carry heavy shit anywhere.
      For what it’s worth, the USMC already has Women in defensive roles like Law Enforcement Battalions and Low Altitude Air Defense Battalions, and even MSGs. The UK’s Royal Air Force Regiment also has allowed Women to serve as “Gunners” as well. I know each country has different needs and responsibilities, but anyway. If we take the squared away, badass women, and put them in these kinds of units, what the heck do they have to complain about? Is that kind of job NOT cool enough? If they try to take a mile when we’ve given them an inch, I think this could be the proverbial “hill HQMC dies on.” They’re going to have to get that cool training with guns, fitness, etc. it’s not going to be the same as MARSOC, but it’s better than being admin...
      Heaven forbid, we could even see about integrating women into SRT’s and creating a Designated Marksmen role to protect bases in a guardian angel/ counter sniper role (like the USAF’s Sniper program).
      The thing that pisses me off is we don’t freakin need Women in combat arms. They weren’t there before for a reason, and it wasn’t because “we hate women”. Obviously, just hating women in wrong, and I understand why equality is important to people. But goddamn, the military isn’t a make a wish organization. We’re here to fight. It’s prioritizing Men’s and Women’s lives against certain women’s wishes and capabilities.
      Idk. Even though it’s not their fault, Women won’t be as good as men. We need to be the best we can be. I think this kind of unit is the best compromise for all of us if idiot SJW’s continue to press this issue. I would like to mention that Women can already serve as Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Female Engagement Teams, Marine Security Guards, Martial Arts Instructors, Martial Arts Instructor Trainers, Marine Corps Instructors of Water Survival, Force Fitness Instructors, Primary Marksmanship Instructors/ Range Coaches, Drill Instructors, Combat Instructors, and MOS Instructors. These are all positions and responsibilities that give them more credibility than just being a gray belt second class pft box kicker bitching about “Men holding Women down” pfffft.

      c m0808 ...tell that to this Marine... she smokes most of the guys in the pull up competition and smokes the guys in PT...
      Pull up challenge, female marine lasts longer than most of the men! 7 men dropped before she did. She was 4th to last!
      ua-cam.com/video/vzDzkPIj5pg/v-deo.html
      Savannah Gemblin. Bad ass marine doing PT and kicking the guys asses.
      ua-cam.com/video/aQsHdkk2BC0/v-deo.html
      I am not for lowering any standards. Keep the same standard that the men have, if women can pass it, then they can do the job. If they can’t, they get washed out with the rest of the men that failed.
      Scientific studies have shown that women handle stress better than men...

    it's good that they are updating their tactics but those hallways are nothing but concealment. Shouting commands identifies their location and that stack falls apart once rounds start coming through those walls. I don't have an answer but lets be real here. Active shooters in work environments were extremely rare back 35 years ago. It's a sad state of affairs now. Gen X screwed up big time.
